Abstract

Object detection is a skill that can be taught to a machine with the help of a camera sensor to capture a digital image. By using the YOLO algorithm we can teach machines to detect, for example, humans. Much research in object detection has been carried out previously using different algorithms and methods and also on different objects and images. In this research, a method was carried out to modify the architecture of YOLOv8 in the head section to be used to detect human objects in grayscale images. The training process was carried out 4 times using the default architecture, Model 1, 2 and 3 architecture. With the default model results, the mAP value was 76, Model 1 had an mAP value of 66, model 2 had an mAP value of 81 and model 3 produced an mAP value of 80. From the research carried out modifications The YOLOv8 architecture in the head section can influence the training results and produce a better model than the default architecture which only produces an mAP value of 76. The best results were obtained in model 2 with layers used of 40x40x512xW resulting in a model with an mAP value of up to 81.

Abstract

Research of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer Vision (CV) is increasingly focused on advanced interface for interacting with humans and creating system models for various purposes. Especially for input device problem to interact with computer. Humans are accustomed to communicate with fellow human beings using voice communication and accompanied by body pose and hand gesture. The main purpose of this research is to applying the Convex Hull and Convexity Defects methods for Hand Gesture Recognition system. In this research, the Hand Gesture Recognition system designed with the OpenCV library and then receives input from the user's hand gesture using an integrated webcam on the computer and system generates a language output from the hand-recognizable gestures. Testing involves several variables which affect success in recognizing user's hand gestures, such as hand distance with webcam, corner of the finger, light conditions and background conditions. As a result, the user's hand gestures can be recognized with a stable and accurate when at a distance of 50cm-70cm, corner of the finger 25o–70o, light conditions 150lux-460lux and plain background conditions.

Abstract

Bananas, a staple fruit globally, are essential for sustenance, employment, and income. However, diseases like Sigatoka, Bacterial Wilt, Bunchy Top, and Fusarium Wilt pose a threat to their cultivation, affecting both small-scale and large-scale production. This survey investigates methods for the early identification and classification of these banana leaf diseases using deep learning and machine learning techniques. A systematic review of 15 studies revealed that the majority of research concentrates on binary classification, which distinguishes healthy from diseased leaves. Common preprocessing steps include image resizing, color space conversion, and background removal to improve model accuracy. We utilize techniques such as ensemble approaches, support vector machines (SVM), random forests, K-means clustering, and convolutional neural networks (CNNs), with CNNs demonstrating superior performance, achieving accuracy rates ranging from 85% to 98.97%. CNNs excel in hierarchical feature extraction but require significant computational power. Traditional machine learning methods offer simplicity and resistance to overfitting but need careful parameter tuning. Advanced deep learning architectures, such as DenseNet and Inception V3, achieve high accuracy but with greater computational demands. Lightweight models like SqueezeNet balance performance and size, but ensemble methods, while improving generalization, add complexity. The choice of method depends on dataset characteristics, available computational resources, and desired trade-offs between performance and complexity. This study provides an overview of current research in banana leaf disease classification, discussing the strengths and limitations of various approaches and suggesting directions for future research to improve detection accuracy and robustness.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the accuracy of the intrusion detection system model. It focused on LSTM and GRU methods proposed by several previous studies. The bidirectional layer was also tested to see if it improves model performance. Dataset used in the study was CIC IDS 2017. The dataset was divided into 3 parts, for training, validation, and testing purposes. Validation data was used to evaluate model performance in every training iteration. It helped to make the model would not overfit the training data. Furthermore, Dropout layer and L2 regularization were also added to the model architecture. The training model was done in a binary classification approach with a learning rate of 0.0001. We found that the stacked method reached accuracy 98.1087% in 100 iteration training. This result is slightly higher than LSTM, GRU, Bidirectional LSTM, and Bidirectional GRU. The method which contains LSTM layer performed its best accuracy using Tanh activation. Differently, GRU and Bidirectional GRU performed the best performance with Lrelu and Prelu activation function, respectively. All models could reach the plateau in the first 20 iterations, while in the next 80 iterations the model performance still could be fluctuately improved. Even though the model already reached the plateau in 20 iteration training, it is still possible for the model to slowly improve by using a small learning rate and by implementing Dropout layer and L2 regularization. Fluctuation of model performance implies that the highest model performance was not always reached in the last training iteration. ModelCheckPoint could help to overcome the issue. In addition, the Bidirectional layer increased the complexity of the model which certainly increased training duration. The bidirectional layer improved the performance of the GRU method, but it did not improve the performance LSTM method.

Abstract

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a cause of blindness. Early detection has the potential to save the patient's vision. Reading fundoscopic photos requires more expertise and effort by the ophthalmologist. There are many visual similarities in lesions and only minor differences in the spatial domain. A computer-assisted automatic detection system is needed to assist medical experts in DR diagnosis and can reduce costs. This study proposes a combination method of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for the automatic classification of Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). The pre-train architecture Inception-V3 uses for feature extraction of input data. After training and getting the best model, the next is classification with SVM. Data augmentation techniques use to multiply and add variations to the dataset. Before the feature extraction stage, the dataset will process by separating the green channel from the RGB image. Next, the CLAHE will require increasing the contrast of the picture. This study aims to improve the performance in multi-class DR classification. The proposed model uses four classes of unbalanced and small datasets from retinal fundus images. This paper also compares the combined performance of CNN SVM with CNN Softmax based on the accuracy value to validate the results. Our experiments show that the combination of CNN SVM can increase the accuracy of auto-detection of DR severity up to 11.48% better than CNN softmax. The results showed that the pre-trained architectural model from the combination of Inception-V3 with SVM classification improves the accuracy extensively, even on small and unbalanced datasets.

Abstract

The presence of online media has shifted print media for news readers to get information that is fast, accurate, and easy to access. However, the problem arises because the length of the news text makes the reader bored to search for the news as a whole so the news that is obtained will be less accurate. For this reason, it is necessary to have an automatic text summary that was raised in this study as well as to compare the Maximum Marginal Relevance (MMR) algorithm and the LexRank algorithm to the summary of Indonesian news texts on the online news portal graphanews. com. the results of the comparison test of text summarization using f-measure , precision and recall show the performance of text summarization with the MMR algorithm is better where f-measure is 91.65%, precision is 91.08% and recall is 92.23%.

Abstract

One of the methods used to improve the performance of text summarization to obtain complete information in a learning module is by transforming the words in a module into basic words or, in other words, through a steaming process. The steaming process in Indonesian language texts is more complicated/complex because there are word affixes that must be removed to get the root word (root word) of a word, so this research will compare the two stemming algorithms of Porter and stemming Nazief & Adriani in the learning module at Mataram University of Technology. The test results of the Nazief & Adriani stemming algorithm on an average process duration of 51.8 seconds with an average accuracy of 74.175%. In Porter's Algorithm, the average processing time is 16.875 seconds, with an accuracy of 73.225%.

Abstract

Qasir is an Android-based Point-Of-Sale (POS) application that can be accessed for free on the Google Playstore. With so many POS applications available, users will be more selective in choosing the application to use. One aspect that can influence the decision to choose an application is the opinion on the application. Opinion is information obtained after using the application that can contain criticism or suggestions. So based on this the user can conclude how other users use the application. Besides being useful for users, opinions if processed properly will produce information that can be used for evaluation for the development team. To analyze and find relationships between owned data, you can use Data Mining. This research will use the Support Vector Machine and Random Forest methods, but each method has its advantages and disadvantages so that the accuracy of the two methods will be compared. The results obtained are that the Support Vector Machine has the highest accuracy value with 80.63% while the Random Forest is 80.21%.

Abstract

Anime adalah salah satu bentuk hiburan populer yang berupa film animasi yang berasal dari Jepang, dengan popularitas anime, tidak sedikit streaming services yang menyediakan anime dalam konten layanan mereka. Anime memiliki sebuah cerita layaknya film, anime juga memiliki banyak genre. Dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan klasifikasi genre anime berdasarkan sinopsis berbahasa Inggris dan algoritma yang digunakan adalah K-Nearest Neighbors. Klasifikasi genre dilakukan untuk mengelompokkan genre menjadi 4 jenis yaitu fantasy, mystery, romance dan sports. Setiap genre berisi 100 data sinopsis. Dilakukan preprocessing dan pembobotan TF-IDF yang dilanjutkan ke tahap klasifikasi K-Nearest Neighbors. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi menggunakan 320 data latih dan 80 data uji serta nilai k=19, hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah Akurasi sebesar 81.25%, Precision sebesar 83.86%, Recall sebesar 81.25% dan F1-Score sebesar 81.17%.
