Abstract

Abstrak: Karier adalah hal yang penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Hal ini dikarenakan pada dasarnya ada dorongan untuk berkembangan dalam hidup. Hanya saja terkadang timbul kebingungan atau ketidakmampuan dalam membuat keputusan karier. Salah satu alternatif solusi untuk membantu seseorang yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membuat keputusan karier adalah melalui layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling berbasis teori trait and factor. Teori trait and factor adalah teori konseling karier yang memandang bahwa pilihan karier yang tepat itu adalah ketika ada kecocokan antara trait yang dimiliki klien dengan factor suatu pekerjaan atau posisi jabatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Literatur-literatur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah buku dan artikel ilmiah nasional dan internasional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji secara mendalam konsep dan pengaplikasian teori trait and factor dalam Bimbingan dan Konseling karier. Hasil penelitian ini adalah analisa dan ulasan mengenai konsep teori trait and factor serta pengaplikasiannya dalam Bimbingan dan Konseling karier.

Abstract

Communication is the process of exchanging messages, where these messages can be in the form of facts, ideas, feelings, data or information from one person to another. Communication failure can be a problem for human life, this failure is caused by various factors, both from the communicating subject and the object being communicated. Problems that occur can be caused by communicators and communicants who do not understand each other's flow of communication, so that the signal is not given and a good communication system is not formed. This study aims to: (1) describe the communication skills of students who are involved in organizations, (2) describe the communication skills of students who are not involved in organizations, and (3) examine the differences in the communication skills of students who are involved in organizations and not involved in organizations.This research uses quantitative methods with comparative descriptive research. The population used in this study were 586 students of class XI and XII of SMAN 13 Padang who were registered in the 2022/2023 academic year with a research sample of 76 students using the purposive sampling technique. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire of students' communication skills with a Likert scale model. The data processing technique used descriptive statistical analysis and the Mann-Whitney test technique.The results showed that: (1) the communication skills of students involved in the organization were in the good category (2) the communication skills of students who were not involved in the organization were on average in the fairly good category, and (3) there were significant differences in students' communication skills. based on involvement in the organization; communication skills of students who are involved in the organization are better than the communication skills of students who are not involved in the organization.

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling is needed by students to assist in the development of personal life, social life, learning activities as well as planning and career development. Through Guidance and Counseling, it is hoped that the potential of each student can be explored and developed appropriately. However, in reality there are still students who do not take advantage of guidance and counseling services and do not understand the function of guidance and counseling. Guidance and Counseling has four functions, namely the functions of understanding, prevention, alleviation, and maintenance and development. This study aims to describe students perceptions of the function of guidance and counseling in schools. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method. The population used in this study was 509 students of SMPN 7 Padang who were registered in the 2022/2023 academic year with a research sample of 255 students selected by the Proportional Random Sampling technique. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire on student perceptions of the function of guidance and counseling. The data was processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the students perception of the function of guidance and counseling as a whole was in the good category. The results of the research on student perceptions of the function of guidance and counseling can be seen in detail as follows: (1) students perceptions of the function of understanding guidance and counseling are in the good enough category, (2) students perceptions of the prevention function of guidance and counseling are in the good category, (3) students perceptions about the function of alleviating guidance and counseling are in the good category, and (4) students perceptions about the function of maintenance and development of guidance and counseling are in the good category.

This research was motivated by a change from direct learning to online learning. This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in early 2020. There are students who think that learning Mathematics online is difficult. So that students have negative perceptions about learning Mathematics online. This study aims to describe students' perceptions about learning Mathematics online in terms of the stages before learning, while studying, and after learning. This research uses a descriptive approach with quantitative methods. The population in this study was students of SMA UNP Laboratory Construction for the 2020/2021 academic year, totaling 621 and sample 243 students. The sample selection used simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used a questionnaire on students' perceptions about learning Mathematics online with a Likert scale model. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. This research as a whole shows that the students' perceptions about learning Mathematics online at the UNP Laboratory Development High School as a whole are in the quite good category with a percentage of 60%. Furthermore, seen from the aspect of the stages before learning is in the quite good category, namely 65%, Then, seen from the aspects of the stages during learning, it was in the quite good category, namely 60%, and seen from the aspect of the stages after learning is in the quite good category, namely by 66%. The implication of this research can later be used as a consideration of guidance and counseling in the school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze self-efficacy, social support, and teacher readiness to face retirement. The research was carried out using descriptive quantitative methods. The population of this research is 125 teachers who will retire in Kecamatan Bangkinang Kota, Riau, and the research sample is 95 teachers who will retire in Kecamatan Bangkinang Kota, Riau. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The research data were analyzed using simple regression and multiple regression. The data analysis process uses the help of the SPSS program. The findings of this study are: (1) self-efficacy contributes to teacher readiness to face retirement with an effective contribution of 28.1%, (2) social support contributes to teacher readiness to face retirement by 21.6% (3) self-efficacy and social support simultaneously. collectively contributed 31.5% to teachers' readiness to face retirement. The implications of the results of this study can be used as a basis for the preparation of guidance and counseling service programs.

Abstract

Adolescent inmates are a population that is vulnerable to depression because being a prisoner is a hard life for adolescents. All the pressure in prison will be a major cause of depression for juvenile prisoners while in detention. In addition, feelings of fear caused by public perceptions of free teenage inmates will make prisoners increasingly feel isolated. Therefore, to reduce these impacts, self-acceptance is needed. The purpose of this study is to describe the aspects of self-acceptance that exist in adolescent prisoners in prison. Samples were collected form 46 prisoners adolescents by applying the purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were self-acceptance questionnaires which has a reliability score of 0.934 (Alpha Cronbach).Data analysis used aquantitative approach with descriptive methods. The results of self-acceptance juvenile inmates obtained an average score of 155.93 (hight self-acceptance category) with an average percentage category of 70.88%.

Abstract

Adjustment is a process that includes mental and behavioral responses to achieve balance in meeting needs in accordance with environmental demands. However, it was found that students had difficulty adjusting, such as being unprepared to live in a dormitory, having difficulty being away from their parents, violating the dormitory rules, having difficulty getting along, and having intercultural disputes. This is thought to be related to differences in schools, cultural backgrounds and grade levels. This research aims to analyze the adjustment of students in the dormitory based on the type of school, cultural background, and grade level. This research method used is ex post facto with a factorial analysis design. The population was 200 students in the dormitory of Al-Faruqi Kampar, Riau. This research uses a self-adjustment instrument with Alpha Cronbach of 0.876. The data were analyzed using the technique Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the level of adjustment of students based on the type of school was in the high category and there were significant differences in the adjustment of students based on the type of school, the level of adjustment of students based on the cultural background was high category and there was no significant difference in the adjustment of students based on cultural background. The level of adjustment based on grade level high category and there is no significant difference in adjustment based on grade level, and there is no interaction between these variables in explaining the adjustment of students in the dormitory. The implications of the results of this research can be used as a reference for counselors in schools for the preparation of guidance and counseling service programs to improve student adjustment in dormitories.

Abstract

Brawls are behaviors that deviate from various norms. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of brawls with several aspects: (1) cognition, (2) affection, and (3) conation. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population in the study were students of class X, XI, and XII at SMK Kartika I-1 Padang, totaling 172 students and the sample in this study amounted to 172 students. The sample was drawn using a saturated sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Data was processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The research findings show that: students' perceptions of brawls seen from aspects of (1) cognition are in the good category, (2) affection is in the good category, (3) conation is in the good category. This means that students perceive that brawls are not good, can harm themselves and others, and are negative.

Abstract

Peer conformity is one of the causes of problems that many students do at school. This study aims to describe peer conformity and differences in peer conformity in terms of gender. This research uses a quantitative method with a comparative descriptive research type. The population in this study were 631 students in grades X, XI, and XII SMA Adabiah Padang for the academic year 2022/2023 and a sample of 259 students was drawn using proportional random sampling. Collecting data in this study using a peer conformity questionnaire. Data were processed using descriptive analysis and t-test with the help of SPSS version 20. The results showed that peer conformity behavior at Adabiah Padang High School was in the "medium" category. There is a significant difference between students' peer conformity in terms of gender. Percentage of conformity among male students (57.9%) and female students (64.6%) with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. The results of this study have implications for Guidance and Counseling service activities.
