Abstract

This community service aims to explore student career maturity through structured group guidance activities. This service is focused on developing self-awareness, understanding career options, developing decision-making skills, and long-term career planning. This service method uses Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving 12 Padang State University guidance and counseling students as active participants in each stage of activity, namely diagnosis of problems and/or needs, action planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this research-based service explore career maturity which developed significantly in various aspects of career maturity after participating in group guidance activities. Aspects of career maturity are developing rapidly, including; self-understanding, career information, effective decision-making abilities, and more mature career planning. Apart from that, students admit that their self-confidence and readiness to face future career challenges are increasingly optimal. This service program to assist students' career maturity through group guidance is worthy of implementation. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kematangan karir siswa melalui kegiatan bimbingan kelompok yang terstruktur. Pengabdian ini berfokus pada pengembangan kesadaran diri, pemahaman tentang pilihan karir, pengembangan keterampilan pengambilan keputusan, dan perencanaan karir jangka panjang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan 12 mahasiswa bimbingan dan konseling Universitas Negeri Padang sebagai peserta aktif di setiap tahap kegiatan, yaitu diagnosis masalah dan/atau kebutuhan, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pengabdian berbasis penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kematangan karir yang berkembang secara signifikan dalam berbagai aspek setelah mengikuti kegiatan bimbingan kelompok. Aspek-aspek kematangan karir yang berkembang pesat meliputi pemahaman diri, informasi karir, kemampuan pengambilan keputusan yang efektif, dan perencanaan karir yang lebih matang. Selain itu, siswa mengakui bahwa kepercayaan diri dan kesiapan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan karir di masa depan semakin optimal. Program pengabdian ini untuk membantu kematangan karir siswa melalui bimbingan kelompok layak untuk diimplementasikan..

Abstract

Using Holland's theory, or Personality Type Theory, this research examines how counseling services play an important role in helping students overcome problems and make career decisions. This research uses literature research methods and collects information from various sources, such as academic journals, books, and document. Guidance counseling practitioners must understand Holland's theory and apply it in everyday life. This research can also serve as a basis for creating better guidance and counseling programs that help students choose careers.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the contribution of process standards, content standards and infrastructure standards to graduate competency standards in high schools/vocational schools/special schools in the Mentawai Islands district . This research is explanatory research because it wants to know the object in depth. The data collected in this study was arranged based on an ordinal scale. The population to be studied in this research is SMA/SMK/SLB, Mentawai Islands Regency, totaling 18 schools. The sampling technique used in this research was the total sampling technique . This research uses two variables that will be involved, namely: 1. Independent variables are variables that influence the dependent variable. The technique used to collect data. First is a questionnaire, collecting data from respondents/primary data sources by asking a list of questions. written/questionnaire. The research results show that 1) there is a contribution of Process Standards to Graduate Competency Standards; 2) there is a contribution of Content Standards to Graduate Competency Standards. 3) there is a contribution of Facilities and Infrastructure Standards to Graduate Competency Standards. 4) there is a contribution of Process Standards and Content Standards to Graduate Competency Standards. 5) there is a contribution of Process Standards and Infrastructure Standards to Graduate Competency Standards. 6) there is a contribution of Content Standards and Infrastructure Standards to Graduate Competency Standards. 7) there is a contribution of Process Standards, Content Standards and Infrastructure Standards together to Graduate Competency Standards. Abstract

Basically the goal of career theory is for individuals to have a happy career. Student careers can be said to be solid if they have plans related to self-understanding, environmental understanding, formulation of choices, and formulation of action plans through plans for further education. In fact, high school (SMA) students have not been able to plan and have problems related to careers. High school students' knowledge about the world of higher education is still low. Through the career guidance module, students are expected to be able to prepare and strengthen their career orientation. This research aims to produce a product in the form of a module to enter higher education using a valid, practical and effective Trait and Factor approach. The research method used is development research by following the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model development steps. The research trial subjects consisted of 3 experts to test the validity of the module, 3 counseling teachers/counselors to test the practicality of the module and 35 students to test the effectiveness of the module. Research data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and nonparametric statistics. The results of the study show that: (1) the module entering college using the Trait and Factor approach is in the valid category, (2) the practical level of the module entering college using the Trait and Factor approach developed is in the very high category for use by guidance counselors/counselors and students, (3) the module for entering college uses an effective Trait and Factor approach to improve students' ability to analyze universities. Thus, the modules developed are valid, practical and effective and can be used by guidance counselors/counselors to improve students' abilities in analyzing the college they will enter.

Abstract

Stunting or stunted growth in children is still a global problem. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in children under 5 years of age is 22.3%. Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, the prevalence of stunting is higher than the national prevalence, namely 25.6% in 2022. Solok Regency with the highest incidence of 40.1% in 2021. This research aims to look at the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and feeding practices in the management of stunted children. This research uses a quantitative approach with a Case-Control design. The research was conducted in Solok Regency, specifically the working area of the Sungai Lasi Community Health Center. The population of this study was mothers who had stunted children under 5 years of age (168 people), while the sample included mothers who had stunted children under 2 years of age (17 people). The sample ratio was 1:2 (stunting (17 people) and not stunting (34 people) with a total of 51 people. Sampling was done using purposive sampling. Data analysis used univariate analysis, and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test. The results of the bivariate analysis obtained the mother's level of knowledge (p= 0.013) and the mother's attitude (p=0.035). In conclusion, there is a relationship between a mother's level of knowledge and attitude and feeding practices in managing stunting. Efforts are needed to increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes in preventing and managing stunting.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to explore the application of technology in career guidance services and its impact on high school students' career maturity through a literature study. Information was collected from various research databases such as ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar using appropriate keywords. Qualitative methods are used, with a focus on collecting descriptive data to understand the individual as a whole. The results show that the application of technology, such as the internet and computer-based systems, has the potential to increase students' career maturity through wider access to career information and a more interactive and flexible guidance approach. Digital platforms also allow students to get more accurate information regarding career choices and developments in the world of work. However, research also identifies challenges such as technology infrastructure gaps in various schools and a lack of digital skills among guidance and counseling teachers and counselors that hinder technology optimization. In conclusion, the application of technology in career guidance can strengthen these services and support increasing student career maturity if accompanied by effective preparation, training and collaboration from various related parties.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis  penerapan teknologi informasi dalam layanan bimbingan karir serta dampaknya terhadap kematangan karir siswa SMA melalui studi literatur. Informasi dikumpulkan dari berbagai basis data penelitian seperti ScienceDirect, PubMed, dan Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci yang sesuai. Metode kualitatif digunakan, dengan fokus pada pengumpulan data deskriptif untuk memahami individu secara menyeluruh. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi, seperti internet dan sistem berbasis komputer, memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan kematangan karir siswa melalui akses informasi karir yang lebih luas serta pendekatan bimbingan yang lebih interaktif dan fleksibel. Platform digital juga memungkinkan siswa mendapatkan informasi yang lebih akurat terkait pilihan karir dan perkembangan dunia kerja. Namun, penelitian juga mengidentifikasi tantangan seperti kesenjangan infrastruktur teknologi di berbagai sekolah dan kurangnya keterampilan digital di kalangan guru BK dan konselor yang menghambat optimalisasi teknologi. Kesimpulannya, penerapan teknologi dalam bimbingan karir dapat memperkuat layanan tersebut dan mendukung peningkatan kematangan karir siswa jika disertai persiapan, pelatihan, dan kolaborasi yang efektif dari berbagai pihak terkait.

Abstract

The use of teaching materials in elementary schools is not optimal, teachers tend to only use students' books as teaching materials. To overcome this problem, integrated thematic teaching materials were developed with the Discovery Learning model using interactive multimedia Adobe Flash CS6 in class V of elementary schools. This research aims to develop integrated thematic teaching material products with the Discovery Learning model using interactive multimedia Adobe Flash CS6. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods with the ADDIE development model. In the ADDIE development model there are five main stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Validation is carried out to determine the suitability of the teaching materials developed. The material aspect obtained 91.81% in the very valid category, the media aspect obtained 90.83% in the very valid category, and the language aspect obtained 96% in the very valid category. At the Implementation stage, practicality tests and effectiveness tests are carried out. The results of the practicality test with teachers obtained an average of 95%, by teachers and 86% by students in the very practical category. Effectiveness testing was carried out on aspects of student motivation and learning outcomes. The motivation aspect obtained an average of 83% in the very high category. Learning outcomes in the knowledge aspect, posttest scores at SDN 09 Selayo were 82.66 with a Good predicate, and at SDN 24 Selayo 85.33 with a Good predicate. From the research conducted, it can be stated that integrated thematic teaching materials with a discovery learning model using Adobe Flash CS6 interactive multimedia are valid, practical and effective for use in class V elementary schools

Abstract

Low self-confidence is a significant factor contributing to various academic and social difficulties among students, hindering their personal development. Previous research and observations at Padang State University indicate that many students continue to struggle with low self-confidence. This study aims to analyze the relationship between body shaming, self-compassion, and gender on student self-confidence, using a quantitative approach with a 2x2x2 factorial design. A sample of 362 students from the Faculty of Education, spread across six departments, was selected using cluster random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using three-way ANOVA. The results of the study revealed several key findings: (1) Overall, students at the Faculty of Education demonstrated high self-confidence, despite body shaming experiences; (2) In terms of self-compassion, students with higher levels of self-compassion exhibited greater self-confidence on average; (3) Gender did not significantly impact self-confidence, as there was little difference between male and female students; (4) Students who had not experienced body shaming had higher self-confidence than those who had been subjected to it; (5) There were significant differences in self-confidence based on self-compassion, with higher self-compassion correlating with higher self-confidence, while lower self-compassion was linked to lower self-confidence; and (6) There was no interaction effect between body shaming, self-compassion, and gender in explaining student self-confidence levels. This indicates that body shaming and self-compassion influence self-confidence similarly for both male and female students. These findings have implications for the development of counseling services in higher education, suggesting that targeted interventions can help improve student self-confidence, particularly by addressing body shaming and fostering self-compassion.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of juvenile delinquency observed among junior high school in Padang, where students engaged in behaviors that violated social norms and school regulations, including skipping school, fighting with peers, damaging school property, participating in brawls, and bullying. A quantitative correlational approach was employed. The sample consisted 190 students from two junior high school students in Padang using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire assessing peer pressure, parental care, and juvenile delinquency. Analysis was conducted using multiple regression with Jamovi. The findings reveal that there is a significant positive relationship between parental care and juvenile delinquency, accounting for 25.8% of the variance; and a significant relationship between peer pressure and parental care with juvenile delinquency, accounting for 25.2% of the variance. With peer pressure identified as a factor in delinquent behavior, schools could introduce regular counseling sessions that address peer dynamics, self-esteem, and resistance to negative peer influence. Peer mentoring programs could also encourage positive peer interactions and role modeling.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan kajian sistematik literatur (Systematic Literature Review/SLR) yang bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis strategi komunikasi hasil asesmen, baik tes maupun non-tes, dalam konteks pendidikan dan bimbingan konseling. Proses penelaahan dilakukan secara cermat mengikuti pedoman PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guna menjamin transparansi dan replikasi. Pencarian literatur difokuskan pada database Scopus dengan menggunakan kombinasi kata kunci seperti “assessment feedback”, “communicating assessment results”, “test”, “non-test”, “education”, “counseling”, “students”, dan “learners”. Dari pencarian tersebut, diperoleh 42 dokumen awal yang kemudian disaring menjadi 20 artikel berdasarkan kriteria inklusi: artikel jurnal peer-reviewed, terbit antara 2015–2025, relevan secara tematik, serta berbahasa Inggris atau Indonesia. Analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan PICOC (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Context), serta melibatkan sintesis tematik dan visualisasi bibliometrik menggunakan VOSviewer. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas komunikasi hasil asesmen sangat dipengaruhi oleh kejelasan pesan, media penyampaian, dan sensitivitas terhadap konteks budaya. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pelatihan profesional yang berfokus pada komunikasi asesmen yang inklusif dan kontekstual di lingkungan pendidikan dan konseling.
