Abstract

The crystal ice shaving process is one of the important stages in crystal ice production that affects the quality and efficiency of production, especially on a small scale business. In practice, the ice shaving machines used often have sizes that do not match the production capacity and are less efficient in energy consumption. These problems encourage the need to design a mini-scale crystal ice shaving machine that suits user needs. This study aims to design a mini-scale crystal ice shaving machine with a capacity of 5 kg/hour that has compact dimensions, is energy efficient, and is able to produce consistent ice shavings. The research method used is a machine design based on mechanical engineering calculations, including analysis of power requirements, transmission systems, machine elements, and modeling using SolidWorks software. The design results show that the machine with a 1 HP motor, a 14:1 pulley-belt transmission system, and a 250 mm diameter rotor is capable of producing a working rotation of 100 rpm with adequate torque. The resulting design is considered suitable for development to the manufacturing stage.

Abstract

Food security will remain a major problem in most countries in the world along with increasing population, increasing purchasing power and global climate dynamics. One of the efforts to build food security and the family economy can be done by utilizing available resources, including through the use of yards. This service aims to examine strategies, potential, policies and programs, as well as constraints on the use of the yard to support food security and the economy, especially at the household level. Yard land has the potential to provide family food, reduce household expenses for buying food and increase household income. Several obstacles related to socio-cultural and economic problems are still encountered in the yard use program, including not yet cultivating backyard gardens on an incentive basis, still being part-time and not yet market oriented, not yet having special yard cultivation technology available, and inadequate mentoring processes. Therefore careful planning and cross-sectoral support is needed in the utilization of the yard so that it can be more optimal in supporting food security and the family economy.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an ideal model of school principal leadership for optimizing student development at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, with the research conducted at MI Unggulan Al Falah in Banjarbaru. The background of this study stems from the importance of the school principal’s role as the primary driving force in creating a learning environment capable of fostering students’ holistic development, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The research approach used is qualitative, specifically a case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the ideal principal leadership model is an integration of transformational, instructional, and spiritual leadership. An effective principal is capable of building a school culture that is collaborative, religious, and oriented toward the optimal development of students’ potential. This leadership focuses not only on administrative aspects but also on the professional development of teachers and the strengthening of students’ character. These findings affirm that the quality of a principal’s leadership which is adaptive, visionary, and values-based makes a significant contribution to the optimization of student development in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of hedonistic lifestyle and social influence on the financial behavior of Generation Z in Sorong City, addressing the limited contextual evidence on how lifestyle orientation and social pressure shape young people’s financial decisions in a digital consumption environment. This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory associative design. The respondents consisted of 100 Generation Z individuals residing in Sorong City, selected through purposive sampling based on criteria such as active social media use and experience in making personal financial decisions. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire measured with a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, with multiple linear regression conducted through SPSS.The findings indicate that hedonistic lifestyle influences the financial behavior of Generation Z through consumption tendencies oriented toward pleasure, self-image, impulsive buying, and immediate gratification. Social influence also affects financial behavior through group norms, peer pressure, family, community, and social media. Simultaneously, hedonistic lifestyle and social influence contribute to shaping the financial behavior of Generation Z in Sorong City. The findings suggest that financial education for Generation Z should not only emphasize financial literacy, but also address self-control, digital consumption awareness, and social pressure. This study provides contextual evidence from Sorong City by integrating hedonistic lifestyle and social influence as key determinants of Generation Z’s financial behavior

Abstract

The Shāfiʿī madhhab has long served as the dominant intellectual and legal tradition within Indonesian Islam, particularly through the educational system of pesantren. Despite extensive scholarship on pesantren and Islamic education, limited attention has been given to the mechanisms through which the Shāfiʿī tradition is transmitted and reproduced across generations. This study examines the processes of knowledge transmission and religious authority reproduction that sustain the continuity of the Shāfiʿī tradition in contemporary Indonesian pesantren. Employing a qualitative library research approach, the study analyzes classical Islamic texts and relevant scholarly literature using thematic content analysis, interpreted through Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of social reproduction. The findings reveal that the continuity of the Shāfiʿī tradition is maintained through three interconnected mechanisms: textual transmission, pedagogical transmission, and genealogical transmission through sanad networks. Religious authority is reproduced through the authority of kiai and the symbolic legitimacy embedded in sanad networks, while pesantren function as a reproductive religious field within which these processes take place. The study proposes a model of Shāfiʿī tradition reproduction in which cultural capital, symbolic capital, habitus, and religious authority interact to ensure the continuity of the tradition. This study contributes to discussions on Islamic education, religious authority, and the sociology of Islamic knowledge transmission.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of creative social media content in economics teaching modules and its contribution to student learning engagement at the senior high school (SMA) level. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of economics teachers and students. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the integration of creative social media content in economics teaching modules is carried out through four primary forms: embedding educational video links via QR codes, utilizing social media infographics as conceptual illustrations, assigning students to produce creative content, and facilitating discussions based on viral content relevant to economic topics. This integration demonstrably enhances student learning engagement across three dimensions: behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement, with the strongest effects observed in the emotional and behavioral dimensions. Supporting factors include teachers' digital competence and adequate school infrastructure, while inhibiting factors encompass the potential for digital distraction and inequalities in digital access among students. The findings are analyzed through the theoretical lenses of Constructivism, Social Learning Theory, Student Engagement Theory, Connectivism, and the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. This study contributes to the development of an economics learning model that is responsive to the digital ecosystem inhabited by Generation Z students.
