Abstract

Silver particles are widely applied in various medical fields, one of which is as an antibacterial. The advantage of silver particles is their small particle size, which increases their antibacterial effect. One of the environmentally friendly methods that can be used to synthesize silver particles is by utilizing extract of daun ketumpang air (Peperomia pellucida (L.) Kunth) through a reduction reaction. The aim of this research was to determine the antibacterial activity of silver particles made using water ketumpang leaf extract against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Silver particles were synthesized using the green synthesis method from extract of daun ketumpang air (Peperomia pellucida (L.) Kunth) which acts as a bioreductant. Silver reduction using water ketumpang leaf extract was carried out with varying concentrations of AgNO3 solution of 1 mM, 2 mM, 5 mM, and 10 mM with a ratio between the extract and AgNO3 solution of 1:40. The resulting silver particles were characterized using a Uv-Vis spectrophotometer and particle size analysis using PSA. The antibacterial activity test of the reduced silver particles was carried out against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria using the Kirby-Bauer method. The results of the research showed the formation of silver particles in the form of a change in the color of the solution from yellow to brownish. Analysis using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed a maximum wavelength of 423 nm, which indicated that silver particles were formed. The results of PSA analysis show the size of silver particles, where the smallest size of silver is 0.41 μm for a concentration variation of 10 mM. The antibacterial activity test showed strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 11.48 mm. This shows that ketumpang water leaf extract can be used as a bioreductant in reducing silver particles and the silver particles produced have the potential to be antibacterial.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of interfaith partnership strengthening activities between Muslims and Baha'is in Riau through the organization of the Diversity Discourse Chat (BIDUK) #01 by ISAIS UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. This activity argues that interfaith partnerships in resolving religious relationship issues can be conducted not only through formal approaches facilitated by the state but also through both informal and formal encounters of each community and the willingness to discuss problems related to religious relationships, including sensitive topics. In this regard, ISAIS UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau facilitates periodic discussions packaged through the BIDUK program, which addresses issues of diversity governance in Indonesia. The BIDUK #01 discussion was held as an effort to strengthen mutual understanding between Bahá'ís and Muslims in Riau in addressing issues related to the religious relations of both communities. In the end, the BIDUK discussion contributed to broadening the horizons of each community's members, showing that differences in religious beliefs do not hinder the partnership between Muslims and Bahá'ís in Riau in addressing national issues related to religious relations in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the political processes undertaken by local political actors in advocating for Kampung Budaya Jalawastu to be recognized as a Traditional Village in Brebes Regency. It is particularly interesting to explore how local political elites act as decision-makers in addressing administrative, cultural, and political issues while balancing their respective interests. Kampung Budaya Jalawastu is the only hamlet proposed as a Traditional Village in Brebes Regency. The research was conducted over two months (November–December) using a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed descriptively and validated through source and technique triangulation. This study employs elite theory as its analytical framework. The results show that: (1) Local political actors serving as key decision-makers include the Traditional Leader, the Council of Elders, the Village Secretary of Ciseureuh, the Village Head of Ciseureuh, the Head of the Cultural Division at the Brebes Regency Culture and Tourism Office, and the Regent of Brebes. Each actor utilizes their power based on individual interests. (2) Collaboration among the Traditional Leader, the Ciseureuh Village Government, and the Brebes Regency Government has been productive. (3) Advocacy efforts initiated by the Traditional Leader serve as a strategy to maintain their reputation and strengthen ties with the Brebes Regency Government. (4) The advocacy process has significant economic and autonomy implications for the community. This study can inform policies on the development of Traditional Villages, particularly in managing customary forests and communal lands for indigenous communities. It also serves as a reference for formulating Traditional Village governance policies rooted in local wisdom values.

Abstract

This article examines the transformation of Sufi orders (tarekat) in Indonesia during the New Order regime by analyzing the rationalization and bureaucratization of mystical Islam within the logic of the modern state. Using Max Weber’s theory of charismatic authority, Talal Asad’s concept of discursive tradition, and decolonial perspectives from Quijano and Mignolo, this study demonstrates that the relationship between the state and Sufi communities is not merely a process of co-optation, but a complex negotiation of power and knowledge. The cases of TQN Suryalaya and JATMAN show how Sufi leaders strategically institutionalized their networks while maintaining spiritual authority at the grassroots level. While this transformation legitimized Sufism in the eyes of the state and mainstream Muslim society, it also contributed to the erosion of syncretic traditions that had long characterized local Islam. However, through tactics of epistemic delinking, many tarekat retained their autonomy, allowing mystical practices to persist beneath the surface of formal religious structures. This study argues that the Islamization of mysticism in Indonesia is not a linear process of purification, but a contested field of tradition, modernity, and resistance. It offers a nuanced understanding of how local religious actors navigate state hegemony while preserving alternative forms of spiritual knowledge.

Abstract

In response to the increasing demands for 21st-century competencies, this study adopts an explanatory quantitative research design to investigate the mediating role of Immersive Learning Experiences (ILE) in the relationship between Augmented Reality (AR) and Learning Motivation (LM) toward the acquisition of 21st-Century Skills (CS). Using a quantitative explanatory design with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), this study analyzes data from Generation Z students (aged 17–25) enrolled at the Ministry of Transportation's maritime campus in Sumatra to evaluate this relationship. The results show that AR has a significant positive effect on ILE (β = 0.603; t = 3.878; p < 0.001), while its direct effect on 21st-Century Skills (CS) is negative and insignificant (β = -0.225; t = 1.461; p = 0.144). ILE, in turn, significantly influenced CS (β = 0.599; t = 4.928; p < 0.001) and significantly mediated the effect of AR on CS (β = 0.361; t = 2.924; p = 0.003). Meanwhile, Learning Motivation (LM) did not show a significant direct or indirect effect on CS through ILE. This finding highlights that ILE plays a significant mediating role in linking AR to 21st-century skills, while LM did not show a comparable influence. This suggests that intrinsic factors such as motivation are crucial, with technology-enhanced learning environments playing a more dominant role in developing 21st-century skills. The limited mediation effect of ILE in the LM–CS pathway may stem from the inherently cognitive–affective nature of motivation, which may require different pedagogical support. Future research is recommended to incorporate moderator variables such as digital literacy and adopt a longitudinal design to assess the sustained impact of immersive learning on skill development.
