Abstract

Interest is the impulse or desire of an individual towards an object that attracts his attention. In the context of education, interest has an important role in the sustainability of the institution. Low interest can have an impact on the decline of the existence of these educational institutions. In general, interest can be influenced by two factors, namely internal factors that come from within the individual, and external factors that come from the outside environment. This study aims to analyze the level of public interest in sending children to school at SDN 7 Pajo. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. This approach is intended to explore in depth the factors that encourage people to choose SDN 7 Pajo Dompu Regency as the place of education for their children. Data is analyzed through the process of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. Data validity is strengthened through triangulation of sources, time, and techniques, as well as increased diligence in data collection. The results of the study show that public interest in sending children to SDN 7 Pajo is still at a moderate level. This is reflected in the fact that 50% of parents whose children graduated from Aisyiah Kindergarten choose to send their children to schools that have more and varied religious lessons, and have better quality standards and services, for example at SDIT Imam Buhari, MI Alkautsar, SDIT Hilmi, and SDN 20 Dompu. The factors that affect this interest consist of two groups, namely: 1) internal factors such as motivation and individual needs, and 2) external factors such as family environment, economy and quality of education.

Abstract

Indicators of sustainable development include equal access to education. However, when administrative region and population density are taken into account, educational resources are still unevenly distributed throughout Indonesia's numerous provinces. Lampung was chosen as the research location due to its rapid population growth over the last two decades, which has influenced demand for educational services and the distribution of other public resources. Lampung has 9.52 million people and covers 33,570 km². The importance of this study stems from the necessity to understand the geographical link between these variables in order to facilitate spatial data-based regional planning that is more equitable and efficient in terms of educational distribution. This study used statistical analysis, namely Pearson correlation analysis, to establish the degree of relationship between variables. The study discovered that the area has a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.674 on the number of educational institutions. The Pearson correlation between population density and the number of educational facilities is -0.139, indicating a very weak relationship. The multiple correlation calculation of the relationship between area and population density with educational facilities provides a strong result of 0.745, suggesting that the larger the area in a region and the denser the population, the more educational facilities are required. Lampung's major districts are Way Kanan, Tulang Bawang, and Pesisir Barat, which rank third, fourth, and sixth respectively. However, in terms of educational facilities, Way Kanan, Tulang Bawang, and Pesisir Barat rank sixth, ninth, and fourteenth, respectively. Lampung province's population facilities and administrative areas remain significantly different.

Abstract

Purpose – This paper examines the influence of network operational digitalization and network operational automation on sustainable operations, with operational efficiency as a mediating variable. The study was conducted at PT XYZ, a telecommunications company in Indonesia, employing a quantitative approach through a survey of 161 respondents working in network operational units. Methodology/approach – The research instrument was developed based on indicators of digitalization, automation, operational efficiency, and sustainable operations. Data collected were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) through SmartPLS software. Findings – The results reveal that both digitalization and automation of network operations significantly influence operational efficiency. Furthermore, operational efficiency plays a mediating role in linking digitalization and automation to sustainable operations. The study also identifies a significant direct effect of network operational digitalization on sustainable operations. However, network operational automation does not yet demonstrate a direct influence on sustainability outcomes. These findings suggest that while automation contributes to efficiency, its role in sustainability is still evolving, reflecting the staged maturity of technological adoption within the telecommunications industry. Originality/Value – Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of an integrative model connecting digital transformation and sustainable operations in the telecommunications sector. Empirically, it highlights the unique asymmetry between digitalization and automation in driving sustainability, which has been underexplored in prior research. Practically, the results provide valuable insights for company management in formulating effective strategies to enhance digitalization and automation-based network operation systems as a foundation for long-term sustainable operations.

Abstract

This article explores the integration of educational evaluation and its role in character development, particularly in relation to strengthening family resilience. The central question addressed is how educational evaluation contributes to character building within the context of the family. Employing a qualitative research design, this study utilizes a case study approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis. Participants included parents, teachers, and educational leaders in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The findings indicate that educational evaluation plays a dual role: for students, it serves as a tool to recognize their individual capacities and social positioning within the classroom; for educators, it provides insight into the effectiveness of their pedagogical strategies. Education is identified as a key instrument in character formation, shaping individuals with intellectual depth, moral integrity, physical vitality, and a strong sense of self. Among various influencing factors, education emerges as the most impactful in character development. In the context of Makassar City schools, teacher-led evaluations that incorporate character education into family settings have proven effective in supporting parents in guiding their children away from negative social influences

Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of digital transformation in educational management by examining its opportunities, challenges, and implications for school quality. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of how digital tools and platforms are reshaping school governance, pedagogy, and policy. Using a qualitative literature review method, data were collected from national and international scholarly articles, policy documents, and academic reports published between 2019 and 2025. A total of ten carefully selected articles were analyzed using content analysis to identify thematic patterns related to digital transformation in schools. The findings reveal that digital technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), AI-powered tools, and data-driven dashboards improve school efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and personalized learning. However, the study also uncovers significant challenges, including unequal access to digital infrastructure, limited digital literacy among educators, institutional resistance to change, and cybersecurity risks. The results underscore that the success of digital transformation depends not only on technological readiness but also on leadership vision, inclusive strategies, and sustained digital policy planning. This study contributes theoretically to the discourse on digital educational leadership and practically to school-based digital transformation strategies in the digital era.

Abstract

In the context of globalization, cross-cultural competence has become essential, particularly in language learning. Listening comprehension is a vital skill for effective communication, yet many educators overlook its significance, often focusing more on grammar and vocabulary. Despite this, integrating cross-cultural elements in language instruction has been shown to enhance students' communicative abilities. However, there remains a gap in the literature concerning the effective implementation of cross-cultural instruction in listening comprehension, particularly in Islamic higher education in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the implementation of cross-culture-based instruction in teaching listening at Indonesian Islamic Higher Education institutions. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving two lecturers and 34 students from the English Education Department at State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Bone. Data were collected through classroom observations, questionnaires, and structured interviews. The findings reveal that lecturers utilized a combination of textbook and authentic materials, including YouTube videos and articles, to provide culturally diverse content. Digital tools such as WhatsApp, Google Classroom, and Zoom were also employed, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, to facilitate learning. The integration of these tools allowed for flexible instruction, yet the study found limitations in fostering deep cultural understanding through asynchronous communication. In conclusion, while the implementation of cross-culture-based instruction in listening comprehension demonstrated potential, the study highlights the need for a more robust pedagogical framework that fully integrates cultural content with technology. Future research should explore more dynamic methods of engaging students in real-time cultural exchanges to enhance both linguistic proficiency and cross-cultural competence.
