Abstract

Students often face challenges in understanding botanical terms, which hinders their comprehension of plant diversity topics. Additionally, the lack of available e-modules has led students to rely heavily on internet sources, making the learning process less effective. This study aims to develop contextual e-modules focused on mangrove plants in Telaga Wasti as supplementary teaching materials for plant diversity courses. The research follows a Research and Development (R & D) approach, employing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to guide the creation of the e-modules. The research instruments consist of media and material expert validation sheets, student response questionnaire sheets, lecturer interview sheets, and pretest and posttest questions. The study evaluates the e-modules in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Validation by expert reviewers resulted in a score of 90,32%, categorized as "very valid." A student response questionnaire indicated a 91,1% positive response, classifying the modules as "very practical and effective." Post-test results showed an average score of 71,87, The average N-Gain value is 0,56 (0,30 ≤ N-Gain < 0,70) with the criteria of being moderate or quite effective in improving learning outcomes. In conclusion, the contextual e-modules on mangrove diversity in Telaga Wasti are considered suitable for use in plant diversity courses, the criteria of being valid, practical, and moderate effective for higher education learning environments. Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms, processes, and impacts of muallaf (convert to Islam) development carried out through the Field Work Lecture (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan or KKL) activities in Dusun Manjau, Laman Satong Village, North Matan Hilir District, Ketapang Regency. The development program was conducted in five main forms: personal mentoring, Islamic studies, Qur’an reading courses, religious consultations, and development through silaturahmi (social visits). The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that personal mentoring plays a crucial role in building emotional closeness and spiritual motivation among the muallaf. Islamic studies and Qur’an reading courses help improve understanding and worship skills. Religious consultations provide space for muallaf to express the problems they face, while silaturahmi activities strengthen social bonds between muallaf and the local Muslim community. Overall, the KKL activities significantly contribute to the strengthening of faith, worship skills, and the social integration of muallaf in their new environment.

Abstract

This study discusses the practice of inheritance distribution before the parents' death among the Muslim community in Medan Tembung District. This phenomenon reflects the dynamic interplay between Islamic law, customary law, and social practices in the division of inheritance. According to Islamic law, inheritance can only be distributed after the death of the testator. However, in Medan Tembung, early distribution is often carried out to avoid conflicts among heirs. This research uses a socio-legal approach with an empirical method based on field observations. The findings show that the community applies three inheritance systems: individual, matrilineal, and parental/bilateral. The distribution is conducted through hibah (grants) or wasiat (wills), typically documented in a written statement and often legalized by local community leaders or notaries. Cultural factors, education levels, and legal awareness significantly influence the variation in distribution systems. Most families still distinguish between the inheritance shares of sons and daughters, with sons typically receiving a larger portion. Community leaders play a vital role in mediating disputes, and if consensus is not reached, legal channels are pursued. These findings highlight the importance of legal education and the need for synergy among religious law, customary practices, and state law to ensure fairness in inheritance distribution.

Abstract

Desertion is one of the most common military cases tried in Indonesian military courts. So that this has a negative impact, both on the military unit, society, and the state. The increase in desertion cases raises a perspective that the positive law governing criminal sanctions for desertion does not have a deterrent effect or preventive effect on military personnel. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine military desertion in the perspective of Islamic criminal law with a focus on the form of desertion crime, its causative factors, and criminal sanctions. This research uses a normative research method (legal research) with a comparative approach. The results of this study indicate that desertion in positive law is a pure criminal offense things only military personnel have the ability of committing. Whereas in Islamic criminal law, desertion can apply to all believers, unless there is an excuse that makes it not obliged to jihad. The criminal sanction for desertion in positive law is in the form of imprisonment and can also be coupled with punishment in the form of dismissal from military service. While in Islamic criminal law, the criminal sanction is in the form of ta'zir punishment in the form of social sanctions, such as perpetrators who run away from the battlefield are prohibited from talking to all Muslims for fifty days. Based on several opinions of fiqh scholars, ta'zir punishment aims to dissuade the offender and prevent the occurrence of a prohibited act.

Abstract

Cases of rental vehicle embezzlement are becoming increasingly prevalent, yet there are no specific legal regulations governing such cases, leading to uncertainty in the enforcement of the law. The purpose of this study is to examine the application of Article 372 and which regulations are appropriate to apply in Case No. 1517/Pid.B/2023/PN Mdn, whether they are appropriate or not in the sentencing of the suspect for the misuse of a four-wheeled vehicle. The type of research used by the researcher is normative legal research. The approach in this study applies the Statute Approach, the Regulatory Approach, and the Conceptual Approach, which provides a perspective in analyzing solutions to problems. The strategy for collecting legal materials in this research uses the method of legal data mining through library research, which is conducted using interpretation of legal materials. The research findings show that in decision No. 1517/Pid.B/2023/PN Mdn, there were problems with the judge's decision in case No. 1517/Pid.B/2023/PN Mdn, including the judge's consideration of one of the elements in the act. The judge applied Article 372, but in the chronology of events, there was an element of Article 378 in the sequence of events. The possession of property obtained through fraudulent means or deceit, which benefits one party and harms another, should have led the court to apply the provisions of Article 378 on fraud, as the sequence of events contained elements of Article 378. The research conclusion indicates that there are no clear legal provisions as a basis for cases of embezzlement of four-wheeled vehicles in the car rental sector, resulting in many individuals engaging in misconduct in such rental activities.

Abstract

Talak merupakan salah satu jalan terakhir dalam penyelesaian konflik rumah tangga dalam hukum Islam. Dalam fiqih, talak dibedakan berdasarkan akibat hukumnya menjadi talak raj’i dan talak ba’in.

Abstract

Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (UU-PKDRT) is an important legal basis for protecting the rights of victims of domestic violence. However, its implementation still faces social barriers in the form of the perception that domestic violence is a private matter that should not be revealed in the public sphere. This condition results in low reporting rates and weak protection for victims, especially women. This community service activity aims to increase legal awareness of residents of Karang Mumus Village, Samarinda City, regarding the issue of domestic violence through a participatory and educational legal socialization approach. The method used is descriptive qualitative with active involvement of residents in discussions, delivery of legal materials, and case studies of domestic violence that occurred in the surrounding area. This activity involved various community elements such as PKK mothers, students, village officials, and local leaders. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding of the forms of domestic violence, reporting mechanisms, and the importance of social support for victims. In addition, this activity succeeded in eroding the stigma that reporting violence is an embarrassing act. This outreach not only provides citizens with legal information but also fosters the courage to speak out against injustice and fight for their basic rights. These findings underscore the importance of community-based legal education as a long-term strategy for building legal awareness, empowering women, and promoting more just and equitable social change.

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a progressive and irreversible condition that leads to a decline in kidney function, requiring renal replacement therapy. The intensive and prolonged treatment process often results in fatigue, which is one of the most common problems in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. Elevated urea levels affect erythropoietin production, resulting in decreased red blood cell count or anemia (low hemoglobin levels), leading to energy and protein loss, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and reduced creatinine production—contributing to decreased skeletal energy production, fatigue, and weakness. Despite the frequent pharmacological interventions, fatigue management is often inadequate due to lack of energy, limiting patients' ability to perform therapeutic activities. One of the easiest and most efficient complementary therapies is lavender aromatherapy, which does not interfere with pharmacological treatments. However, it remains underutilized. In 2022, 143 CKD patients in one hospital presented with fatigue complaints, often leading to repeated care episodes. This case study aims to analyze the application of lavender aromatherapy in reducing fatigue levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: This study used a case study design with a pre-post test approach involving 3 patients selected through simple random sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected through direct observation using the FACIT-Fatigue Scale. Results: The results showed a reduction in fatigue levels in all three patients. Initially, they exhibited severe fatigue. After three days of lavender aromatherapy, fatigue levels decreased to mild. Conclusion: The application of lavender aromatherapy led to a decrease in fatigue levels, suggesting that it can be an effective supportive intervention.

Abstract

Lavender Marriage refers to a marital union undertaken to conceal sexual orientation in order to avoid social stigma. This study analyzes the validity of such a marriage contract under Islamic law and the framework of maqāṣid al-sharī'ah through a case study in Nangka Village, North Binjai District. Employing a juridical-empirical approach with a descriptive-analytical method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature review. The findings indicate that although this practice may fulfill the formal requirements of marriage under positive law, it contradicts the essential objectives of marriage in Islam, particularly the establishment of a harmonious family (sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah) and the preservation of lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl). Elements of deception (tadlīs) are present, resulting in greater harm (mafsadah) than benefit (maṣlaḥah), whether morally, socially, or psychologically. The study recommends strengthening premarital counseling, moral development, and public education to prevent similar practices.
