Abstract

This study aims to analyze the public policy of the Indonesian government in the Millennial Farmer program. This program is expected to attract the interest of the younger generation to be actively involved in the agricultural sector through a digital entrepreneurial approach. The research method uses a literature study that aims to examine various reference sources related to public policy and innovation in the Millennial Farmer program in Indonesia. Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory is used as an analytical framework to measure the extent to which digital technology can be adopted by millennial farmers. Five main dimensions relative advantage, suitability, complexity, trialability, and observability are the assessment indicators. The results of the study show that although this program offers relative advantages in increasing productivity and market access, there are still obstacles in the complexity and trialability aspects due to limited training and minimal technology trial facilities in the field. The primary survey revealed that 65% of millennial farmers have used agricultural applications, but 60% of them have difficulty understanding digital features and 50% have internet infrastructure constraints. Observability is still low due to the lack of real representation of successful farmers as local role models. The conclusion of this study confirms that the effectiveness of public policy in encouraging the adoption of innovation is greatly influenced by user readiness, infrastructure support, and active involvement of local governments. Therefore, a more adaptive, decentralized, and responsive policy strategy to local needs is crucial to accelerate the transformation of the technology-based agricultural sector.

Abstract

Self-esteem is one of the most important parts of the human self. For students, of course self-esteem affects their daily lives. Students with good self-esteem will feel more meaningful in their lives than students who have low self-esteem. This research aims to determine the self-esteem picture of students who are members of the OKU community, a public university in Selangor, Malaysia through the role of counselors using the CBT Coach approach. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method with a pre-test exam, then observing the intervention carried out by the counselor using the CBT Coach approach to the OKU students. After that, to see the results, a post-test is given. The research results showed that there was an increase in self-confidence and positive attitudes of OKU students after being given intervention by the counselor. The pre-test results show that the majority of OKU students lack self-confidence and feel unsure that they will be appreciated by others. Therefore, the intervention provided by counselors using the CBT Coach approach is considered quite effective in increasing OKU students' self-esteem.

Abstract

East Kalimantan’s rural frontier has become a key arena of Indonesia’s dual extractive economy, where coal mining and oil-palm plantations intersect to reshape village life. In Long Beleh Modang Village, overlapping concessions, uncontrolled land clearing, and weak state regulation have produced a “common problem” of ecological degradation and livelihood precarity: forests are fragmented, rivers polluted, and customary tenure eroded. Communities that once relied on forest and river resources face declining access to natural capital, deepening economic dualism, and growing dependence on informal patronage networks. Against this background, this article investigates how the combined expansion of coal and oil-palm industries transforms rural livelihood structures and reconfigures local power relations. Using a qualitative case-study design—comprising in-depth observation, semi-structured interviews, and focus group discussions—the study applies the Sustainable Livelihoods Analysis (SLA) framework not as a full livelihood assessment, but specifically to explain how extractivism drives structural inequality and erodes community livelihood capitals (natural, physical, human, social, and financial). Political-ecology concepts complement this analysis to reveal the power dynamics behind dispossession. The findings show a shift from adaptive to coping strategies, marked by land fragmentation, heightened informal labor, and declining access to natural resources. Agrarian conflict is intensified by overlapping tenure claims and the absence of participatory land governance. An emergent system of extractive patronage, where local elites broker access to corporate resources, reinforces economic inequality and social exclusion. By demonstrating how SLA illuminates the structural erosion of livelihood assets under extractive pressure, this study contributes to debates on extractive governance and rural sustainability, underscoring the urgency of equity-oriented, community-based governance and participatory spatial planning.

Abstract

This study examines when and how viral marketing and social proof shape purchase intention in social commerce, and whether Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) mediates these effects. Drawing on Social Influence Theory, we model viral marketing and social proof as antecedents, FOMO as a mediator, and purchase intention as the outcome. Data were collected from 231 active social commerce users in Indonesia and analyzed using variance-based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The measurement model met accepted criteria for reliability and convergent validity. The structural results show that viral marketing exerts a positive and significant direct effect on purchase intention while also increasing FOMO. Social proof significantly elevates FOMO but does not directly influence purchase intention, indicating that endorsement cues operate primarily through affective urgency rather than as stand-alone drivers. FOMO has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention and mediates the paths from both viral marketing and social proof to purchase intention, implying partial mediation for viral marketing and full mediation for social proof. These findings advance theory by integrating normative and informational influence with an affective mechanism central to the attention economy. Managerially, they suggest prioritizing diffusion design and credible validation cues that ethically heighten urgency, while monitoring authenticity and overload to prevent reactance.

Abstract

Rice is a major food commodity that plays a vital role in Indonesia's food security, but its productivity in Ronta Village is still low due to farmers' limited ability to manage rice farming. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of farmers in rice farming activities in Ronta Village, Bonogunu District, North Buton Regency. The research population consisted of all paddy farmers in Ronta Village, totaling 14 farmers. The sample was determined using the census method. Research data were collected using interviews, documentation, and surveys using questionnaires. The variables observed in this study were farmers' capabilities, specifically their knowledge and skills in paddy farming. The collected data was then processed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that rice farmers in Ronta Village had high knowledge and skills in rice cultivation, including land preparation, seedling cultivation, planting, fertilization, irrigation, and harvesting. The farmers' knowledge was in the good category (100%), as demonstrated by their understanding of cultivation techniques and the use of high-quality seeds, while the skills of the majority of farmers (85.71%) were classified as skilled with the appropriate application of modern and traditional methods. The farmers' capabilities are an important asset for increasing the productivity and efficiency of farming.
