Abstract

Education is aimed at improving the quality of human life, both individually and in society. Education is not separated from an institution where learning is a school. There is no denying the quality of service between public and private schools. However, the phenomenon is in contrast to current on-going program of the government to promote qualified and affordable education through public schools. This research aims to analyze background of primary school selection for parents as seen at a private school in Purwokerto. This research uses qualitative method with study case type. The research was conducted at a primary school in Purwokerto. The data sources were obtained from the students’ parents, teachers, and the principal. Techniques of collecting data were observation, comprehensive interview, and document study. The validity test was done by source triangulation. The finding showed that parents considered two factors: theological and academic factors. The theological factor was based on religious consideration. Parents wanted their children to have strong religious foundation. The academic factors dealt with the human resource ability to achieve both academic and non-academic achievements for the students.

Abstract

Based on constitution number 20 Year 2003 about educational system concerning with National education, it asserts that teaching - learning activity should be PAIKEM in nature. To promote PAIKEM learning, teachers should design the learning by cooperative learning model. In Public Primary School 2 Sambung, the teacher had implemented 2013 curriculum but the realization was not fully utilized PAIKEM well. This research aims to find out Talking Stick model assisted by PowerPoint medium influences to students’ critical thinking skills. This qualitative descriptive research took population from Public Primary School in Sultan Agung cluster, Kudus municipality. Then, the sample was taken by purposive sampling, resulting to IV A class of Public Primary School 2 Sambung which consisted of 22 students as experimental group. Meanwhile, the control group was obtained from IV B class, consisting of 18 students. Techniques of collecting data were test - essay test, and non-test - documentation and observation. The calculation of independent sample t-test showed that tcount0.4, meaning that tcount>ttabel.Result of experimental group's N-gain score was 0.65, categorized moderate. Meanwhile, the control group obtained 0.35, categorized moderate. It showed there was improvement of critical thinking skill after being intervened by talking stick assisted by PowerPoint media.

Abstract

Learning inside of classroom is only merely transferring knowledge or memorizing in nature. It has not had purpose to improve students’ conceptual understandings. To make learning process capable in improving conceptual understanding, teachers should prepare innovative learning model and make their students able to determine solution by themselves from the given problems. This research aims to analyze improvement of students’ conceptual understanding after being intervened by Problem Based Learning assisted by Mobile Learning. This quasi experimental research used nonequivalent control group design. It was done for V graders of Public Primary School 2 Ngeling and Public Primary School 3 Ngeling in Jepara municipality. Techniques of collecting data were documentation, observation, conceptual understanding test in the form of multiple choices. The data was analyzed by gain score test and t-test. The results showed there was significant difference of the students’ conceptual understandings intervened by PBL assisted by mobile learning media. There was significant difference of conceptual understanding score between both groups with significant level 5% with N-gain of experimental group 0.61, categorized as moderate while the control group obtained 0.19, categorized as low. The independent test stated there was difference between both groups as shown by score of tcount 0.411 with significant level 0.000. It showed that problem based learning assisted by mobile learning media could improve the students of the primary schools’ conceptual understandings.

Abstract

Referring to thematic learning that has not been optimized, this study aims to develop a quality and independent integrative thematic model, and to determine its effectiveness to improve learning outcomes and 21st century learning skills of elementary school students. This research was conducted using research and development designs (R&D) with preliminary study research stages, development stages, and evaluation stages. Model validation involves experts from academia and practitioners. The result of the effectiveness of the model is done through experimental activities using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The results of the model validation show that the integrative thematic learning component is valid with a percentage of 88.9% and 93%. The effectiveness of the product showed that an increase in learning outcomes can be seen in the average affective learning outcomes 89.1 and 85.4. The average psychomotor learning outcomes are 79.63 and 80.08. Then the results of the mastery test of the material (cognitive) after being treated with the results of 0.40 (medium category). Model effectiveness test showed an increase in learning outcomes after the use of thematic learning models based on scientific approaches with the value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000. This shows that the model is effective in improving student learning outcomes and skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the risk management of the Japanese language education study program at Universitas Negeri Semarang. This research approach is a qualitative approach with a case study design. data collection using structured interview methods, unstructured interviews, and document study. The results of this study indicate that the risk management carried out by the Japanese language education study program Universitas Negeri Semarang is not yet structured, but is following the directions and rules of the university. Although not yet structured, risk management that is carried out can minimize the impact of a problem that can disrupt the stability or sustainability of the study program. There are already standard rules for handling each problem and special handling in each case. Carried out very carefully so that the stability of the study program is maintained. The benefit of this research is to provide insight into risk management in the Japanese language education program Universitas Negeri Semarang to maintain the quality of graduates and the sustainability of the study program itself and can be an example of risk management in other institutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of customer expectations and marketing mix on customer loyalty with customer satisfaction as an intervention at SMK Al-Ittihad. All activities carried out by a school will ultimately lead to students' value regarding their perceived satisfaction. If student satisfaction is realized, loyalty to school is also manifested. This study's population were all SMK Al-Ittihad Boarding School Jungpasir, Wedung, Demak in the 2020/2021 academic year, with the sampling technique being the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The data collection technique is a questionnaire. The path analysis results (Path Analysis) show that there is a significant influence between the variable Customer Expectations and the Marketing Mix partially on Customer Satisfaction with the Sig. <0.05. Directly there is a significant influence between the variable Customer Expectations and Customer Satisfaction with Customer Loyalty with the Sig Value. <0.05, and there is no significant influence between the Marketing Mix variable and Customer Loyalty with the Sig. 0.778> 0.05. Customer Expectations directly affect Customer Loyalty with the direct effect value is greater than the indirect effect value (0.507> 0.316). Marketing Mix directly affects Customer Loyalty with the greater direct effect value than the indirect effect value (0.013> -0.201). This research is useful as input in the development of management science, especially in marketing management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the role of the principal as an innovator, motivator, and collaborator in the implementation of school-based management at SMP Nasima Semarang. This research approach is a qualitative approach with a holistic descriptive. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants in this research were principals, vice principals, teachers, and school committees. The results of this study indicate that the role of the principal as an innovator, motivator, and collaborator in the implementation of school-based management at SMP Nasima Semarang is (1) as an innovator must have different, unique, and superior ideas (2) as a motivator must have a strategy in providing education ( 3) as collaborators must be able to involve all parties in providing education (4) the ability of school principals to manage professionally is the key to the successful implementation of school-based management (5) the participation of all parties results in transparency and accountability of parents of students towards the implementation of education

Abstract

School public relations is one of the school's management functions in the field of public relations. It is supposed to act as a bridge between the organization and its constituents, establishing communication and sustaining positive relationships. The purpose of this study is to examine the school's public relations program for the purpose of developing school branding. This study used a qualitative approach, employing a case study design with multiple sites. Principals, school public relations, and PPDB members are the main data sources. Techniques for data collection was observation, interviewing, and documentation. Data analysis is a technique that entails data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result was: The public relations program activities of SMP IT Harapan Mulia Palembang are as follows: 1) develop school logos and uniforms, 2) develop taglines, 4) develop a charactersitic and outstanding program, and 6) pursue successes. Communication; 1) establish social media platforms such as facebook, whatsapp, youtube, and instagram; 2) establish corporate partnerships; 3) establish calendars; 4) establish press relations; and 5) organize family meetings. And the activities of the public relations program at SMP IT AL Furqon Palembang: 1) developed superior programs for full-day and boarding school programs, 2) created slogans for thinkers, dhikr experts, and endeavor experts. 3) Designing school logos and uniforms; 4) establishing special programs; and 5) recruiting qualified and competent educators. Additional communication includes the following: 1) leveraging social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, and YouTube. 2) develop a school website; 3) form corporate relationships; 4) meeting with parents; and 5) meeting with the local community. It can be stated that the school public relations program is highly effective at developing school branding, even though various obstacles exist in its implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and evaluation of BPI learning activities at SDIT Nurul Islam Tengaran. The development of character values in schools is a barometer of the success of character education. SDIT Nurul Islam Tengaran is one of the Islamic schools that prioritize Islamic character values with the Islamic Personal Development (BPI) program. This research approach is qualitative in the form of case studies. Data were obtained by means of observation, interviews, and document studies. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using qualitative analysis, in which the research results will be translated into words so that researchers can describe the research results in depth according to the actual conditions in the field. The results of the research at SDIT Nurul Islam Tengaran show that the management of BPI based on character education includes: (1) planning with the stages of the process: determining the BPI team from class teachers and subject teachers, compiling BPI SOPs in learning, preparing online, blended schedules and offline mode, BPI implementation strategy, and determination of BPI material in accordance with SKL JSIT Indonesia (2) implementation in the form of socialization of the BPI program to teachers, students and parents as well as various strategies during the pandemic and (3) evaluation in the form of Process evaluation and evaluation of results.
