Abstract

Writing and publication of scientific papers (KTI) among teachers is still very concerning. This is indicated by the low productivity of teachers in writing and publishing scientific papers. This condition is in accordance with the statement of one of the teachers at the partner's place who stated that there are very few teachers who can write. Therefore, training is needed that can facilitate teachers to be able to improve their competence. This KTI writing training is very important for teachers because it can be a form of continuous professional development in promotion or class which can also improve teacher welfare. From the survey data before the training, participants had difficulty in compiling an appropriate research design and choosing the right analysis method. Participants were often unsure how to analyze the data and interpret the results. Participants often had difficulty in compiling logical conclusions and relevant recommendations. The results of the survey after the training showed a significant increase in understanding of the structure and objectives of scientific papers. Participants were able to present the background of the research more clearly and coherently after the training. Participants showed increased competence in compiling research designs and choosing the right analysis methods. Participants were more confident in analyzing data and interpreting results after participating in training for elementary school teachers in Peranap District, Indragiri Hulu Regency.

Abstract

The community empowerment program in Indragiri Hulu Regency involves elementary school teachers in the production of culture-based documentary videos as part of efforts to preserve local Malay cultural heritage. This initiative, conducted at SDN 005 Batu Gajah, Pasir Penyu Subdistrict, aims to enhance teachers' skills in designing and producing documentary videos focused on Malay culture. The training covers Malay culture theory, the integration of culture into education, scriptwriting techniques, cinematography, video editing, and hands-on practice. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in the teachers' technical skills, evidenced by the creation of four documentary videos: The History of Batu Gajah, The History of Danau Raja, The Making of Kue Bingke, and Silat Pasir Keranji. Although participants were enthusiastic, some encountered technical difficulties due to limited experience with video production tools, highlighting the need for further support and training. This study emphasizes the importance of documentary production training in supporting the preservation of Malay culture and enriching culturally based education. The program is expected to strengthen local curricula with relevant cultural content and reinforce cultural preservation efforts in schools and the community. It is recommended that sustainable training programs with adequate support be implemented to ensure the long-term impact of this initiative in Indragiri Hulu.

Abstract

Cultural integration in mathematics learning is one of the learning approaches that must be possessed by elementary school teachers in Indonesia. However, many teachers still have difficulty in integrating it. Therefore, it is necessary to design community service activities that can support elementary school teachers' knowledge of ethno-didactic of mathematics. The initial step taken was to measure teachers’ knowledge of ethno-didactic of mathematics by providing a survey to 16 teachers from SDN 003 Kandis. The teachers were given 5 statements related to their understanding of ethno-didactics of mathematics on a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (excellent). The results of this initial survey indicate that teachers’ knowledge of ethno-didactic of mathematics is still in the low category, so it is necessary to conduct a workshop to strengthen the competence of elementary school teachers’ knowledge of ethno-didactics of mathematics and be able to use it in designing mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka memberikan kebebasan kepada guru untuk merancang dan mengembangkan pembelajaran di kelas masing-masing termasuk pembelajaran matematika. Pengintegrasian budaya, khususnya budaya Melayu, dalam pembelajaran matematika merupakan salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat menjadi pilihan bagi guru-guru khususnya di sekolah dasar. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendukung guru-guru meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka tentang etno-didaktik matematika dan dapat mengembangkan pembelajaran berbasis etno-didaktik matematika. Kegiatan Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan partisipan yaitu 16 orang guru SDN 03 Kandis. Kegiatan workshop ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan guru tentang etno-didaktik matematika dan juga kemampuan merancang pembelajaran berbasis etno-didaktik matematika Melayu. Namun, perlu tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini sehingga pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang telah dimiliki guru dapat diterapkan di pembelajaran matematika di kelas masing-masing.

Abstract

Malay ethnomathematics is culture-based learning that is very important in 21st-century life. The progress of globalization has led to many technological advances, which have resulted in many cultures being abandoned or even extinct. Ethnomathematics research can be a solution for preserving culture, because it integrates culture and learning materials in schools. This study aims to explore Malay ethnomathematics in the architecture of the Indra Perkasa Traditional Hall on Penyengat Island as a resource for teaching mathematics on geometry and measurement in elementary schools. The method used was an ethnographic study, which is part of a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and other sources, such as books and journals. This study shows some aspects of Malay ethnomathematics related to geometry and measurement materials in elementary schools, including flat shapes, spatial shapes, and length measurements. This study indicates the potential for the integration of Malay ethnomathematics into the architecture of the Indra Perkasa Traditional Hall on Penyengat Island as a mathematics learning resource for geometry and measurement in elementary schools in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out the relationship between the fifth grade students’ number sense and their mathematical problem solving. The participants of this study were 73 fifth grade students from a private Islamic school in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. The research method used is in the form of quantitative methods. The instrument in this study is a test, where the data collected by distributing a test about students’ number sense and their mathematical problem solving. Number sense indicators consist of number concepts, multiple representations, effects of operations, equivalent expressions, and computing and counting strategies. The problem solving materials consist of numbers, fractions, geometry, and measurements. The data analysis technique is done by presenting data, normality test, linearity test, linear regression test, and hypothesis testing using the Pearson product moment correlation. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between students’ number sense and their mathematical problem solving. After that, a correlation test is performed between all number sense indicators with mathematical problem solving materials. The indicator of computing and counting strategies has high correlation with measurement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan research and development yang memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan suatu produk yaitu media pembelajaran Pop-Up Book berbasis etnomatematika  pada materi bangun datar untuk siswa   kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ini yaitu model 4-D. Model ini memiliki 4 tahapan yang dimulai dengan pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (development) dan   penyebarluasan (desseminate). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 79 Pekanbaru pada siswa kelas IV B semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, angket validasi dan angket praktikalitas. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan telah melalui proses validasi dengan validator, sedangkan penelitian akhir yang dilakukan menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa media pembelajaran Pop-Up Book berbasis etnomatematika pada materi bangun datar untuk siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Dari hasil validasi dan praktikalitas dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran Pop-Up Book berbasis etnomatematika pada materi bangun datar untuk siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar dinyatakan sangat valid dan sangat layak digunakan.

Abstract

Permainan olahraga tradisional sebagai katalis adalah  bahwa permainan tersebut berfungsi sebagai pendorong atau penyebab dalam proses pembentukan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Dengan menggunakan istilah "katalis," peneliti ingin menyampaikan bahwa permainan olahraga tradisional memiliki peran penting dalam mendorong atau memfasilitasi perkembangan aspek-aspek karakter positif pada anak-anak. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode ethnography. Pada penelitian ini mengambil sampel dari kelas 3A yaitu 28 (dua puluh delapan) peserta didik. Teknik Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian permainan olahraga tradisional statak ini akan disajikan dalam beberapa sup bagian yang diawali dengan pejelasan mengenai permainan olahraga tradisonal statak dan diakhiri dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang ada pada permainan olahraga tradidional statak yaitu kerja sama, sportivitas, disiplin, kejujuran, keberanian, tanggung jawab, ketahanan mental, komunikasi, dan kreativitas.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran menggunakan komik matematika terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas IV SDN 010 Talontam Benai. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan model one-group pre and post- test design. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, observasi dan tes. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 13 siswa kelas IV SDN 010 Talontam Benai. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah penerapan pembelajaran menggunakan komik matematika yaitu dari skor pre-test 53,08 menjadi skor posttest 82,69. Berdasarkan hasil uji beda rata-rata diperoleh bahwa thitung(4,679) > ttabel( 2,160), maka disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan pem-belajaran menngunakan komik matematika terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas IV SDN 010 Talontam Benai.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the character values contained in the tepung tawar tradition at Malay weddings in Rokan Hulu, which can be used as teaching materials for students at SDN 003 Kepunahan. The type of research conducted is qualitative research with an ethnographic method. The variables studied include the tepung tawar tradition process and the character values present in Rokan Hulu Malay weddings. The results show that the tepung tawar tradition process in Rokan Hulu Malay weddings is led by traditional leaders and involves a series of activities, such as sprinkling tepung tawar water on the bride and groom, touching tepung tawar leaves from the head to the feet of the couple, scattering yellow rice on their heads, and concluding with a prayer. Additionally, the values contained in the tepung tawar tradition at Rokan Hulu Malay weddings include religious values, unity, mutual cooperation, fostering relationships, and social values.
