Abstract

The global environmental crisis, exacerbated by unsustainable consumption and escalating plastic waste, underscores the urgency of promoting green product purchasing practices. This study investigates the influence of green product knowledge (GPK), green awareness (GA), and green lifestyle (GL) on green product purchasing practices (PPGP) among Adiwiyata and non-Adiwiyata high school students in South Jakarta. Employing a quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected from 204 students using a combination of essay-based and Likert-scale questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that GPK, GA, and GL jointly had a significant influence on PPGP, explaining 56.07% of the variance for Adiwiyata students and 36.21% for their non-Adiwiyata counterparts. Partially, only GA and GL significantly affected PPGP among Adiwiyata students, whereas only GL was significant for non-Adiwiyata students. GL emerged as the strongest predictor in both groups, with regression coefficients of 0.6436 and 0.5823, respectively. These findings highlight the importance of embedding behavioral components into environmental education by prioritizing green lifestyle development to foster sustainable consumer behavior among high school students.

Abstract

Diarrhea remains a public health problem in the Kaledupa Community Health Center working area, affecting 35.7% of the population. There have been fluctuations in the incidence of diarrhea from year to year. In 2021, there were 2,774 cases of diarrhea in Wakatobi District. One of the factors contributing to the high incidence of diarrhea is poor hand washing with soap (HWS/CTPS). This study aims to analyze the relationship between HWS practices and the incidence of diarrhea before and after health education interventions. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population consists of the entire community in the Kaledupa Community Health Center working area, totaling 5,865 people, with a sample of 99 respondents determined using the Slovin formula and proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire. The post-test also found a significant relationship. Respondents with good HWS practices experienced diarrhea less frequently than respondents with poor HWS practices. It was concluded that health education interventions using pamphlets were effective in increasing community knowledge about HWS practices and as an effort to reduce the incidence of diarrhea. It is recommended that the Kaledupa Community Health Center continue to strengthen health promotion programs such as counseling and demonstrations related to CTPS, provide CTPS facilities and infrastructure, and involve families and the community in daily CTPS practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of capital intensity and transfer pricing on tax avoidance, as well as the role of institutional ownership as a moderating variable in these relationships. The object of this study consists of companies in the mining sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2020–2024. Based on purposive sampling, 50 companies were obtained as samples which produced 250 research data. Data analysis was conducted using moderated regression analysis with an interaction test approach. The results indicate that, partially, both capital intensity and transfer pricing do not have a significant effect on tax avoidance. However, simultaneously, these two variables have a significant influence on tax avoidance. Furthermore, the study finds that institutional ownership moderates the relationship between capital intensity and tax avoidance, indicating that institutional investors may strengthen or weaken this relationship through their monitoring role. On the other hand, institutional ownership does not moderate the relationship between transfer pricing and tax avoidance. This study offers important implications for corporate management, regulators, and investors to consider the interaction between internal factors when addressing and managing tax avoidance behavior.

Abstract

Gel electrophoresis is a fundamental technique in molecular biology used to separate DNA fragments by size. However, limitations in laboratory facilities often hinder its implementation. This study aims to analyze students’ understanding of the operating principles of gel electrophoresis, the functions of its main components, and their ability to interpret DNA separation results through a virtual practicum on the LabXchange platform. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with 63 fifth-semester students from the Biology Education Program. Data were collected through observations during the simulation, analysis of DNA band patterns generated by the virtual experiment, and students’ responses in the worksheet. The findings indicate that the virtual simulation effectively visualizes the DNA migration process, enabling students to understand the roles of agarose gel, buffer, and electrical current in fragment separation. Students identified the relationship between fragment size and migration distance and evaluated the expected results based on electrophoresis theory. Thus, the virtual laboratory practicum proved to be an effective alternative learning method for enhancing conceptual understanding and analytical skills in gel electrophoresis.
