Abstract

The ability of rosemary leaf extract to scavenge free radicals was tested using the DPPH method in this research. Rosemary leaves were selected based on their natural richness in antioxidant compounds such as polyphenols and flavonoids. The test results showed that the ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction, and n-hexane fraction all exhibited very strong antioxidant potential, with  values below 50 ppm. The ethanol extract was the most potent with an IC₅₀ of 23.98 ppm, followed by the ethyl acetate fraction with an  of 26.60 ppm and the n-hexane fraction with an  of 27.95 ppm. The superiority of the ethanol extract is attributed to its ability as an optimal polar solvent for dissolving phenolic compounds. These compounds play a crucial role in stabilizing free radicals through hydrogen/electron donation, as well as resonance mechanisms.

This study aims to analyze the influence of health education on the level of primigravida anxiety in the third trimester at the Panasea Inpatient Main Clinic. Materials and methods. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest design and included 40 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Interventions were carried out through structured counseling on newborn care. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) instrument. Results. Wilcoxon test analysis showed p = 0.000 (α < 0.05), indicating a significant decrease in anxiety levels after health education. Before the intervention, the majority of respondents experienced moderate to severe anxiety, while after the intervention, most showed a decrease to mild anxiety levels. These findings show that health education is effective as a promotive and preventive intervention to reduce maternal anxiety and increase readiness to face the role of parent. Conclusions. This research supports integrating health education into routine antenatal programs to improve maternal health.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internal and external efficiency of educational institutions through the Value for Money approach at SDN Jombor, Jumo District, Temanggung Regency. Value for money serves as a performance evaluation model that focuses on three leading indicators: economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in managing educational resources. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that the school has attempted to implement the principles of economy in budget management, efficiency in the use of human and material resources, and effectiveness in achieving educational objectives. However, several challenges remain, such as the lack of teacher training and limited internal supervision. The novelty of this study lies in its application of the Value for Money framework within the context of public primary schools, a context that is still rarely explored empirically. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of value-based evaluation models in educational management and a practical contribution to formulating policies that enhance transparency, accountability, and the quality of education services at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between the level of perception and the level of community participation in household waste management in Loa Bakung Village. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative methods using questionnaires, literature review, and direct observation. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling with a total of 80 participants. The results show a p-value of 0.001 ≤ α = 0.05 with a correlation coefficient of 0.361, indicating that there is a correlation between perception and participation in waste management, although the relationship is weak and positive. Qualitative findings reveal that waste banks can help reduce waste volume (66.3%) and highlight the importance of separating organic and inorganic waste (61.3%). However, actual participation remains limited, with only a small proportion of respondents regularly practicing waste sorting, composting, or recycling. The suggested recommendation is the need for awareness programs through KIE (Communicative, Implementation, and Education) approaches and regular monitoring.

Abstract

Clean water is a source of basic needs for all forms of life. Water quality must be ensured before use, and water sources must be monitored regularly. The use of unclean water is one of the causes of skin diseases. Various age groups can be affected by skin diseases, especially the age group of children, who are still vulnerable. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of clean water in the Taha Qur'an Education Park, which was reviewed biologically. This type of research is Descriptive Qualitative. The population in this study were all the water taps in the Taha Qur'an Education Park. The selection of all samples as a population was due to the fact that there were only two water taps at the Taha Quranic Education Park. Based on the results of biological quality tests, including Coliform tests and Escherichia Coli tests obtained in water, it is known that the results of the coliform test obtained in sample A were 10 MPN / 100ml and in sample B 168MPN / 100 ml, and the results of Escherichia Coli in sample A were 15,000 MPN / 100ml and in Sample B 5,000 MPN / 100ml. The water used by the students is still considered unfit for consumption due to the presence of coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria, which can cause disease in humans. Treatment is needed to reduce the bacterial content in the sanitation facilities at the Taha Quranic Education Park.
