Abstract

The improper use of household insecticides can reduce vector susceptibility and potentially lead to the emergence of resistant mosquito populations. In Lampaseh Village, most residents routinely spray insecticides indoors as an effort to prevent mosquito nuisance. However, despite regular spraying, residents continue to report the presence of mosquitoes. The number of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in this area is relatively low, yet cases are reported every year. This indicates that the threat of Aedes mosquitoes as vectors of the dengue virus has not been completely eliminated and that control efforts still require serious attention. This study is descriptive in nature, aiming to illustrate household insecticide use patterns and identify the resistance status of Aedes sp. mosquitoes through laboratory-based Susceptibility Tests. Data on insecticide use were collected through interviews with 86 households, while resistance testing was conducted on 75 adult mosquitoes. Findings are presented in narrative and percentage form. The results showed that the application of household insecticides was not fully in line with recommended practices. The majority of respondents reported using aerosol sprays (40%), which pose a risk of excessive application. Most spraying was conducted at night (81.40%), whereas the peak biting activity of Aedes aegypti occurs in the morning and late afternoon. In terms of frequency, the majority (58.14%) did not spray daily. Nevertheless, the Susceptibility Test demonstrated that mosquitoes remained susceptible to cypermethrin, with a mortality rate of 100%. In conclusion, the reduced effectiveness of insecticides in the field is not caused by mosquito resistance but is more likely influenced by suboptimal application practices. Simple preventive measures such as maintaining environmental sanitation, draining water containers, and eliminating stagnant water remain more effective strategies to disrupt the mosquito life cycle.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the benefits of the Merdeka Curriculum in mathematics learning, specifically on the topic of Basic Statistics for Grade VII.7 students at SMP Negeri 3 Parepare. This research employ-ed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and verification or conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was examined using time triangulation. The research subjects were 29 students of Grade VII.7, but data analysis was conducted on 26 students, as 3 students were absent during data collection. The research instruments included observation sheets, a four-point Likert scale questionnaire, and interview guides developed based on three indicators: student independence, active participation, and material relevance. Data were collected through classroom observations on Basic Statistics, questionnaire distribution, interviews with three students representing high, medium, and low ability categories, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has a positive impact on mathematics learning in Basic Statistics. The curriculum fosters student independence, enhances active participation, and facilitates better understanding of the material, as it is presented contextually and aligned with students’ needs.

Abstract

This study aims to characterize students’ sustainability awareness in the context of chemistry learning at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara and to provide a basis for developing worksheets aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A quantitative descriptive design was employed with a sample of 34 grade XII students selected through simple random sampling. The research instrument was a 36-item sustainability awareness questionnaire adapted from Kelfina et al. (2025), encompassing three dimensions: behavioral and attitudinal awareness, emotional awareness, and awareness of sustainability practices. Data were analyzed using mean scores and percentage distributions. The results show that students’ sustainability awareness was generally high, with an overall mean score of 82.33%. Each dimension also demonstrated high levels of awareness: 82.67% for behavioral and attitudinal awareness, 82.67% for emotional awareness, and 81.67% for awareness of sustainability practices. These findings suggest that chemistry learning particularly topics such as corrosion, green chemistry, and chemical bonding supports the development of students’ conceptual understanding, emotional engagement, and sustainable practices in daily life. Overall, the study provides an empirical foundation for developing chemistry worksheets integrated with the SDGs to further strengthen students’ sustainability awareness

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to identify and analyze the types of conceptual metaphors used by the vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 debate to interpret the concept of the economy in constructing linguistic reality. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data consisting of metaphorical expressions found in the 2024 vice-presidential debate. The data were collected using the observation method, specifically the non-participatory observation and note-taking techniques, and were analyzed using the referential identity (matching) method. The results reveal four main conceptual metaphors underlying the economic discourse, namely: (1) THE ECONOMY IS A PLANT/ORGANISM, (2) THE ECONOMY IS A MECHANICAL MACHINE, (3) THE ECONOMY IS A LIQUID IN A CONTAINER, and (4) THE ECONOMY IS A PRISONER. These findings demonstrate that conceptual metaphors not only represent the cognitive ways of thinking of the speakers but also function as rhetorical tools used to shape public perception. Keywords: conceptual metaphor, economy, vice-presidential debate, cognitive linguistics Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis jenis-jenis metafora konseptual yang dgunakan para calon wakil presiden dalam debat untuk memaknai konsep ekonomi dalam mewujudkan realitas bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptis dengan data berupa ungkapan metaforis yang terdapat dalam debat calon wakil presiden tahun 2024. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode simak dan teknik simak libat cakap dan teknik catat, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode padan. Hasilnya, terdapat empat metafora konseptual yang mendasari wacana ekonomi tersebut, yaitu: 1) EKONOMI ADALAH TUMBUHAN/ORGANISME. 2) EKONOMI ADALAH MESIN MEKANIK, 3) EKONOMI ADALAH CAIRAN DALAM WADAH, dan 4) EKONOMI ADALAH NARAPIDANA. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa metafora konseptual bukan hanya merepresentasikan cara berpikir secara kognitif seorang penutur, tetapi juga menjadi alata retoris yang digunakan untuk emembentuk persepsi publik. Abstract

KUA Revitalisasi Kecamatan Sambas merupakan KUA yang memiliki program unggulan di bidang ZIS. KUA Revitalisasi Kecamatan Sambas berperan aktif dalam memastikan program ZIS dapat berjalan efektif sesuai dengan nilai-nilai keagamaan dan memberikan dampak positif pada kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kecamatan Sambas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan tentang: (1) Proses pelaksanaan pembinaan oleh KUA Revitalisasi pada program ZIS di Kecamatan Sambas; (2) Kendala dalam pembinaan oleh KUA Revitalisasi pada program ZIS bagi masyarakat muslim di Kecamatan Sambas; (3) Cara mengatasi kendala dalam pembinaan oleh KUA Revitalisasi pada program ZIS bagi masyarakat muslim di Kecamatan Sambas; (4) Pemanfaatan hasil ZIS bagi masyarakat muslim di Kecamatan Sambas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pelaksanaan pembinaan program ZIS yang dilakukan oleh KUA Revitalisasi di Kecamatan Sambas ada empat, yaitu perencanaan program, pelaksanaan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Terdapat empat kendala dalam pembinaan ZIS oleh KUA Revitalisasi di Kecamatan Sambas, yaitu pemahaman dan kesadaran umat tentang kewajiban ZIS masih rendah, kurangnya kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap badan pengelola ZIS, memiliki kelemahan dalam hal SDM, serta kurangnya dana dalam sosialisasi ZIS. Adapun cara mengatasi kendala dalam pembinaan ZIS adalah dengan mengadakan rapat koordinasi secara rutin dengan lembaga keagamaan lainnya, seperti BAZNAS, penyuluh agama, serta perangkat desa, hal ini dilakukan dengan peningkatan kerjasama atau kolaborasi antara lembaga keagamaan, serta meningkatkan kegiatan sosialisasi atau penyuluhan tentang ZIS. Bentuk pemanfaatan hasil ZIS di Kecamatan Sambas ada tiga jenis program, yaitu program bantuan sosial, pendidikan, dan kesehatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning yang valid. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan ADDIE dengan tahap evaluasi menggunakan evaluasi formatif Tessmer. Data dikumpulkan melalui walktrough dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD IPA Terpadu berbasis problem-based learning valid. Uji kevalidan LKPD terdiri dari uji kevalidan desain, pedagogik dan materi oleh 3 dosen ahli yang dilakukan pada tahap expert review. Hasil analisis data rata-rata dari skor validasi ini valid atau layak digunakan dengan persentas sebesar 0.89 yang kategori tinggi menurut teori Aiken’V. Produk hasil penelitian diharapkan menjadi fasilitas perangkat pembelajaran untuk guru dan peserta didik serta disarankan agar dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic learning model in improving student learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education at Miftahul Ulum High School, Rombuh Village, Palengaan, Pamekasan, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The background of this study stems from the initial finding that the VAK learning model has been used by Islamic Religious Education teachers. However, its implementation has not been optimal, resulting in significant improvement in student learning motivation. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources included the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and 10th-grade students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the VAK learning model at Miftahul Ulum High School has been carried out through several stages, but has not fully followed the VAK steps. Teachers often emphasize visual and auditory aspects, while kinesthetic elements are less widely applied due to time and media limitations. Students are also unfamiliar with VAK-based learning activities, so some remain passive and lack confidence when asked to actively participate. However, the implementation of VAK has been shown to increase enthusiasm and engagement for some students, particularly when teachers use visual media and discussion activities. Supporting factors for implementing the VAK learning model include teacher creativity, school support, and the availability of basic learning resources. Inhibiting factors include limited kinesthetic support media, insufficient time allocation, and varying student abilities in adapting to active learning models. Overall, the VAK learning model has the potential to increase student learning motivation if implemented consistently, creatively, and supported by adequate learning facilities.

Abstract

Bahan kimia berpotensi membahayakan kesehatan manusia dan lingkungan apabila digunakan secara tidak bijak, ceroboh, tidak terkendali, tidak tepat, dan tidak aman. Maka diperlukan dan mendesak adanya penyiapan manusia (dalam hal ini peserta didik di sekolah) yang memahami lingkungannya, yang sadar akan konsep kimia hijau. Pergeseran paradigma ini tidak hanya bertujuan untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan dari praktik kimia tetapi juga mempromosikan keberlanjutan. Kebutuhan mitra yaitu pendampingan mengenai prinsip kimia hijau yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah, baik dalam pembelajaran maupun kesadaran siswa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk lebih peduli lingkungan. Hasil observasi juga menunjukkan bahwa potensi bahan alam yang dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti bahan kimia berbahaya, seperti bunga yang memiliki warna cerah yang dapat dijadikan indikator asam basa, bahan makanan yang mudah dicari karena posisi sekolah didekat pasar, misal membutuhkan lemon untuk praktikum redoks.  Solusi atas permasalahan yaitu dilakukan pendampingan guna meningkatkan student’s awareness terhadap kimia hijau. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini terdiri dari 6 kegiatan yaitu 1) Penyampaian Materi (Sosialisasi 12 prinsip kimia hijau), 2) Demonstrasi Praktikum, 3) Penguatan Materi dan Kuis, 4) Diskusi Kelompok, 5) Pembuatan Produk dan 6) Presentasi Produk. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa di SMA Srijaya Negara telah memiliki tingkat kesadaran/awareness yang baik terhadap kimia hijau, yang tercermin dari dominasi kategori baik dan sangat baik dalam hasil penilaian. Selain hal tersebut, siswa SMA Srijaya Negara juga sudah menunjukkan kemampuan yang baik dalam mengolah serta menuangkan pengetahuan mereka mengenai konsep kimia hijau ke dalam bentuk infografis yang informatif dan menarik.

Abstract

The increasing cases of sexual violence, harassment, and gender-based bullying among adolescents raise questions about the extent to which sexuality education has been integrated into the formal education system. As one of the primary learning resources, textbooks play an important role in shaping students’ understanding of sexuality and social relations. However, the representation of sexuality in school textbooks remains relatively underexplored. This study aims to analyze the representation and transformation of sexuality discourse in Indonesian senior high school sociology textbooks across three curriculum periods: the School-Based Curriculum (KTSP), the 2013 Curriculum, and the Merdeka Curriculum. This research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis of 18 senior high school sociology textbooks to identify how sexuality is represented within the contexts of sexual violence, gender relations, and social deviance. The findings indicate that discussions of sexuality in textbooks remain limited and are generally positioned as a minor part of the topic of social deviance. Sexual violence is mostly presented in a descriptive manner without comprehensive discussion of its psychosocial impacts or preventive strategies. This study contributes by demonstrating how textbook discourse reproduces a limited understanding of sexuality and highlights the importance of integrating more comprehensive sexuality education into sociology learning materials.

Abstract

Floriculture is a horticultural sub-sector with high economic value and significant potential to increase farmers’ income. Rose cultivation is one of the main sources of livelihood for the community in Karangpring Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. This farming activity has been carried out for generations and serves as a key support for farmers’ household economy. This study aims to measure the level of farmers’ motivation and to analyze the factors associated with farmers’ motivation in rose farming. The research was conducted in Karangpring Village, Sukorambi District, using a quantitative descriptive method. The population consisted of 129 farmers, with a sample of 34 respondents selected randomly using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation.The results show that the level of farmers’ motivation in rose farming is in the moderate category. Farmers stated that the cultivation process of roses is relatively easy; however, the income obtained is not yet stable due to price fluctuations, as well as limited support and assistance from agricultural extension workers. Factors significantly associated with farmers’ motivation include age, farming experience, and the frequency of participation in extension activities. Meanwhile, formal education and land size are not significantly associated with farmers’ motivation.
