Abstract

This paper aims to synergize the discourse about the state and Islam in two views of thought, namely Hizb ut-Tahrir thinking with the concept of the concept of the state of the concept of Khilafah al-Islamiyah which is bound to the labelitas and nostalgia longing for a system that was built in the time of the Prophet until the Ottomans ( 1924 AD) dealing with the thought of non-Hizbi scholars who are not bound by religious symbolization that adheres to the values of the sub-khilafah al-Islamiyah that can be accomplished systemically through any system of origin of the value of substance on the forms in accordance with Islamic values, not putting symbolic value as a goal, but attempting to build a system substantially that does not conflict with Islam itself. Data collection method of this research is through the documentation of a number of books by Sheikh Taqiyuddin an-Nabhani as the foundation layers of Khilafah thought that according to him as the only way for Muslims to regain their power from the colonization of the system of infidels. However the efforts of an-Nabhani can be said as a new thought that must face to face with other ideology and thought, for that will be very worth to be criticized. First, the khilafah system is regarded as something irrelevant to the current situation and condition, in which the Muslim life is already scattered throughout the world. Secondly, according to the jumhur ulama there is no obligation to appoint a single leader like khalifah / imamah when Muslims are unable to do so, even according to Imam al-Haramain al-Juwaini Muslims can appoint leaders in their respective regions. Thirdly, Muslims should not be caught up in the symbols and formality of names that seem Islamic, but must commit to the substance of things. In the popular adage among the scholars it issaid:مظهز ال جىهزالب ال بزةب ع ال"The substance of the substance is the substance, not the symbol or outward appearance" or in another phraseسم اإل الب سمى م ال بزةب ع ال"The subject of the subject is something that is named, not the name "Thus, fighting for the establishment of values substantively with regard to Islamic teachings in a State is far more important than fighting for the establishment of the symbols of an Islamic state.

Abstract

This research discussed the Buginese and Javanese phonological interference and the factors that influenced that case from the students in senior high school. The method that was used in this research was qualitative research. The researchers collected the data with nine fricative consonants (f, v, θ, ð, s, z, ʃ, ʒ, h) by reading test, recording and interview, then analyzed with the theory by Weinreich (1979). The object was the Buginese and Javanese students of Senior High School 2 of East Luwu. The data showed that phonological interference produced by Buginese and Javanese are only two of three kinds of phonological interference by Crystal (2003). From Buginese students, the researchers only found one category of phonological interference which was sound replacements on consonant {f}, meanwhile on Javanese students found two categories of phonological interference, that were sound addition on sound {h} and sound replacement on sound {ʃ}. On the other hand, there are two factors that caused phonological interference of Buginese and Javanese students in this research, such as bilingual background and disloyalty to the target language. The factors that were found related to the factors mentioned by Weinreich (1979). Keywords: Phonological Interference, Buginese Phonological Interference, Javanese Phonological Interference

Abstract

An understanding of a school’s culture was essential to quality management. In this study the researchers identified the international school’s culture in Singapore International School (SIS) Palembang, Indonesia and Jerudong International School (JIS) Brunei Darussalam. The approach used in this paper was qualitative, case study. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman’s Model. The results obtained indicate that the school’s culture in SIS was building students’ character such as honesty, sincerity, creativity, compliance with rules and norms. While in JIS, the students should take responsibility for themselves and others. They take the initiative, evaluate the situation in front of them and make decisions accordingly. JIS thrives on mutual respect by working with people from different backgrounds. Keywords: School’s Culture, SIS Palembang, JIS Brunei Darussalam

Abstract

In Indonesia, da’wah activities have been implemented in various ways, including mountaineering. However, data showed that many mountain hikers in Indonesia had been seriously injured (even died) due to a lack of knowledge and preparation for hiking. This article aimed to analyze the goals of mountain hiking and fulfilling the reproductive health conducted by Pendaki Hijabers community members. The authors used a phenomenological approach with a descriptive-analytical type of qualitative research. The research was conducted at Mount Merapi and Prau Dieng, Indonesia, from 2019 until 2020 with 25 informants. The data were analyzed using Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and Maqāşid al-Syarī'ah theory. The results showed that the goals of Pendaki Hijabers community activities varied, such as meditation on nature, exploration of nature verses ‘āyāt kauniyah’, da’wah through mountaineering, deepening mountaineering skills, eliminating negative stereotypes of hijab, ideological deconstruction of society through the hijab, and fighting developmentalism through social service, sport, education, and religious activities. Based on the CEDAW review, mountaineering for women, on the one hand, had a positive impact on psychology because it can eliminate double burden concepts and negative stereotypes for women. On the other hand, mountain hiking has a potential negative impact on women's reproductive health because luggage is too heavy, hiking during menstruation, and consumption of food and drinks that are not ideal. Based on the Maqāşid al-Syarī'ah review, mountaineering activities supported ḥifẓ dīn ‘safeguarding the religion’ because they are oriented towards the da’wah of Islam. But, mountaineering that does not pay attention to aspects of reproductive health potentially harms the goals of sharia in the form of ḥifẓ nafs ‘safeguarding the soul’ and ḥifẓ nasal ‘safeguarding offspring’.
