Abstract

AbstractCulture and language are like two sides of a coin, it cannot be separated witheach other. Therefore, when we learn a language, we cannot ignore the culture underpaining the language. However, the problem happened, when the culture of the language being learned is contradicted with our culture. English is a language mostly spoken by western people that has different culture from us (moslems). Thus, there should be a way to protect the language learners from negative foreign culture. One of ways to solve that problem is intergrating Islamic values in English language learning. Finally, this research was case study that was conducted in IAIM NU Metro Lampung, especially first semester students of English departement in speaking class. Moreover, the data obtained from interview with the lecturer, observation of teaching and learning process as well as document analysis. The  interactive data analysis used to analysis the obtained data. Moreover, the integration of islamic values was conducted by adding islamic terms, place, name, expression in teaching and learning process. Keywords: integrating; Islamic values; speaking class AbstrakBudaya dan bahasa ibarat dua sisi mata uang yang tidak dapat dipisahkan satu dengan yang lainnya. Oleh karena itu, ketika kita belajar suatu bahasa, kita tidak dapat meninggalkan budaya bahasa yang kita pelajari. Kemudian, yang menjadi permasalahan adalah, ketika budaya dari bahasa yang kita pelajari tidak sesuai atau bertentangan dengan  identitas atau budaya kita. Dalam hal ini adalah pembelajaran  bahasa Inggris, bahasa yang notabene berasal dari budaya barat yang tetunya berbeda dengan nilai-nilai budaya kita khususnya budaya atau nilai-nilai Islam. Sehingga, harus ada jalan tengah agar para pembelajar bahasa Inggris tidak kehilangan identitasnya ketika mempelajari bahasa tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi hal tesebut dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keislaman dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif khususnya studi kasus yang dilaksanakan di IAIM NU Metro Lampung, khususnya pada mahasiswa semester satu Prodi Pendidikan bahasa Inggris pada matakuliah speaking1. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan dosen pengampu matakulaiah speaking1, observasi pelaksanaan pembalajaran, serta analisa dokumen. Kemudian, data yang diperoleh dianalisa menggunakan analisa data interaktif. Sehingga ditemukan bahwa pengintegrasiaan nilai-nilai keislaman pada pembelajaran speaking dilakukan dengan menambahkan istilah-istilah, tempat, nama, ekspresi-ekspresi keislaman. Kata kunci: integrasi; nilai-nilai keislaman; mata kuliah speaking

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to develop further analyzing of metadiscourse categories in second language learners of International Program School of Muhammadiyah University Surakarta. Specifically, the researchers explored metadiscourse categories (interactive and Interactional) of students’ writing result at International Program of Muhammadiyah University Surakarta, the differences of metadiscourse categories with regard to gender (males and female) and factor affected metadiscourse in male and female. The researcher employed  Hyland’s metadiscourse model in analyzing students’ written form which consis of 10 male and 7 female students. The results revealed that  interactive metadiscourse consist of frame markers, transition markers, endophoric marker, evidendionals, and code glosses. Meanwhile, the interactional metadiscourse concist of boosters, edges, attitude markers, self-mentions and engagement markers. The researchers also revealed that the category of transition marker was the highest on female students since most female students learn at outside class such as at pondok pesantren.ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan analisis lebih lanjut terhadap kategori metadiscourse pada pembelajar bahasa kedua pada Program Internasional Sekolah Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Secara khusus, para peneliti mengeksplorasi kategori metadiscourse (interactive dan interactional) pada hasil tulisan mahasiswa, perbedaan kategori metadiscourse pada ”gender”  (laki-laki dan perempuan) dan faktor yang mempengaruhi metadiscourse pada laki laki dan perempuan. Para peneliti menggunakan model Hyland dalam menganalisis metadiscourse pada tulisan mahasiswa yang terdiri dari 10 laki-laki dan 7 perempuan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa interactive metadiscourse terdiri dari frame markers, transition markers, endhoporic markers, evidendionals, dan code glosses. Sementara itu interactional metadiscourse terdiri dari booseters, edges, attitude markers, self mentions dan engangement markers. Studi ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa penanda transition marker adalah yang tertinggi pada siswa perempuan karena kebanyakan para  siswa perempuan belajar di luar kelas seperti di pondok pesantren.  How to Cite: Suhono, Haikal.(2018). Abstract

Mastering English, as foreign language need a lot of time since it is a continuing process. English foreign language of young learners, however, can’t be mastered by memorizing. The young learners should have strategy, which can be used as the direction of the classroom activites to help the students enhancing of language skill, specially in writting. There were the problem to be solved in this study, namely the students have difficult to construct the written text. The strategies which were used in the learning process were boring. Hence, the researcher tried to solve students’ difficulty in written text through Transition Action Detail Strategy. This study focused on two variables. The independent variable was Transition Action Detail Strategy, meanwhile dependent variable was written text. The researcher used true experimental design which consist of control group and experimental group. The subject of this research was students of young learner at the eight grade of English Course at Payakumbuh. The result revealed that Transition Action Detail Strategy was a good strategy that can influence the students’ narrative text. By using df.70, the writer not found it in the table. Because 70 was higher than 60 and smaller than 120. Then, the results from interpolation by using df.70, it could be known that the critical value of t-table for the 5% level was 1.990, the critical value of t-table for the 1% level was 2.638. From these all the data analysis, it can be seen that t-observed (4.763) was higher than t-table (5% =1.990, 1% = 2.638). The data confirm that t-observed is higher than t-table, therefore it can be inferred that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that there is significant influence of applying Transition Action Detail Strategy on Wwritten Text of Young learners. Abstract

A traditional Javanese game was one of the cultures inherited of hereditary society which has great value to society, specifically to educate the children. Unfortunately, the impact a lot of modern games in modern era from other countries has demolished the position of local games. It seem gave negative impact for children today. They tend to focus on new game (download new game continuously) in Googleplay store without understanding educative value of it’s game. Consequently the children abandon traditional Javanese game and leave educative game. The researcher aimed to retrofit traditional Javanese games to provide English vocabulary for children in order to motivate them in Learning English. To solve the problem the researcher adapted Kemp and Yalden model of instructional program design to retrofitting Javanese traditional game. The result showed that Javanese traditional games: Learning alphabet was the result retrofitted from Sobyong game, Learning days was the result retrofitted from Engklek game, Learning Colors was the result retrofitted from “Jamuran” game, and Learning part of body was the result retrofitted from "Oyak- Oyakan". Abstract

This study deals with error analysis on composition written by EFL Students IAIM NU Metro. It aims at developing further analyzing of error analysis in second language learners. For this purpose, an empirical study was conducted, using Indonesian students learning English as the subject of research. To achieve this purpose, the researcher explored the type of grammatical errors made by students at different grade semesters: the second, the sixth, and the eighth. More specifically, this study was an attempt to describe the type of grammatical error which frequently exist in written composition, to describe frequency grammatical error among the grade semesters, and to describe the sources of errors. Students’ writings were analyzed based on surface strategy taxonomy theory. The results of this research revealed that 268 sentences indicated errors. In all semesters, types of omission error was the highest one 131 (48.9%) sentences. Furthermore, grammatical error in the second semester was the highest one 124 (46.8%) sentences. The sources of errors of this research were mother-tongue influence (Interlingual errors). It was influenced by the native language which interferes with target language learning. The second was Intralingual errors, caused by the target tself like, misanalysis (wrong hypothesis), incomplete rule application. Keywords: Surface Strategy Taxonomy, Error Analysis, IAIM NU Metro.

Abstract

Pada artikel ini, Peneliti mencoba untuk melihat karakter desain berbasis instruksional SMA Negeri 2 Banyuasin III di Komunitas Ekonomi ASEAN. Indonesia adalah anggota ASEAN Economic Community, yang harus menyiapkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 2 Banyuasin III adalah institusi yang peduli terhadap pengembangan karakter dan karakter siswa. Dalam penelitian ini kami mengeksplorasi karakter desain berbasis instruksional SMA Negeri 2 Banyuasin III di Komunitas Ekonomi ASEAN. Dalam penelitian ini kami menggunakan kualitatif. Untuk mendapatkan data, kami menggunakan wawancara, observasi, studi dokumen dan triangulasi. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa sekolah tersebut menerapkan pengajaran agama dan sopan. Sekolah melakukan disiplin dalam semua kegiatan yang menciptakan guru dan administrator sebagai model. Mereka membudidayakan rasa hormat dalam hubungan harmoni sekolah. Mereka tumbuh dan mengembangkan pengajaran agama atas tingkah laku mereka. Mereka mengoptimalkan instruksi secara efektif, dan mencegah waktu luang instruksi. Mereka menerapkan evaluasi formatif dan sumatif secara konsisten dan berkesinambungan. Mereka mengoptimalkan implementasi program peningkatan dan pengayaan. Mereka memotivasi dan membantu siswa dalam memahami kompetensi melalui unit konseling. Mereka mengoptimalkan pembinaan makalah ilmiah. Mereka mengoptimalkan pembinaan minat teknologi informasi. Abstract

An understanding of a school’s culture was essential to quality management. In this study the researchers identified the international school’s culture in Singapore International School (SIS) Palembang, Indonesia and Jerudong International School (JIS) Brunei Darussalam. The approach used in this paper was qualitative, case study. The data were collected by using observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman’s Model. The results obtained indicate that the school’s culture in SIS was building students’ character such as honesty, sincerity, creativity, compliance with rules and norms. While in JIS, the students should take responsibility for themselves and others. They take the initiative, evaluate the situation in front of them and make decisions accordingly. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan kelanjutan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui pembelajaran dan pengadaan kaligrafi di TPA Al-Mukmin Desa Banjarsari Kota Metro. Pemilihan TPA Al-Mukmin sebagai objek kajian tidak lepas dari kondisi masyarakat di lingkungan Desa Banjarsari. Beberapa warga Desa Banjarsari terindikasi menganut ajaran Islam Ekstrimis. Dibuktikan dengan penentangan mereka terhadap pembelajaran dan pengadaan kaligrafi di masjid karena menganggap kaligrafi sama dengan berhala. Di samping itu banyak sekali santri yang tidak mengenal seni Islam, khususnya Kaligrafi dan mereka lebih mengenal kebudayaan asing non-islami seperti K-Pop dan lainnya. dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian peneliti menggunakan pendekatan PAR (Participation Action Research). Adapun dalam analisis data penelitian, peneliti menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan model penelitian lapangan. Data dikaji dengan dilandaskan pada prinsip-prinsip Islam Nusantara. Adapun hasil dari pengabdian dan penelitian in adalah (1) kegiatan pelatihan kaligrafi sangat efektif dalam mengenalkan kebudayaan Islam dan kebudayaan nusantara melalui kajian ayat Alquran dan ornamen batik nusantara (2) pelatihan kaligrafi merupakan media efektif dalam proses internalisasi paham Islam Moderat dengan pilihan ayat-ayat Alquran yang berkaitan dengan prinsip tasamuh, tawazun, dan tawasuth, (3) pelatihan kaligrafi terbukti mampu menjadi motivasi bagi warga untuk mengadakan kegiatan keagamaan lain seperti pengajian akbar, istighasah, dan yasinan secara berjamaah di masjid yang belum dilakukan sebelumnya, (4) pengadaan kaligrafi terbukti mampu menangkal paham radikal di kalangan masyarakat, mengingat bahwa kaligrafi di dalam masjid merupakan simbol moderisme jama’ah masjid tersebut.

Abstract

Industri Hasil Tembakau (IHT) dinilai sebagai industri yang mampu menunjang sektor perekonomian Indonesia. Penerimaan cukai hasil tembakau terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan penerimaan negara, sehingga industri ini masih tetap dipertahankan. Perkembangan yang terjadi selama kurun waktu 2003 - 2012, mengindikasikan adanya perubahan pada struktur, kinerja, dan perilaku dari industri rokok. Perubahan struktur tersebut, pada akhirnya akan mempengaruhi bagaimana kinerja dan perilaku yang ada pada industri tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur, kinerja, dan perilaku di industri rokok kretek. Selain itu akan dianalisis faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja. Struktur, kinerja, dan perilaku industri rokok kretek akan dianalisis menggunakan Metode SCP. Pendekatan ini terdiri dari tiga analisis utama yaitu analisis struktur, analisis kinerja, dan analisis perilaku. Analisis struktur di analisis melalui indikator CR4 serta hambatan masuk. Kinerja industri diukur dengan Pendekatan Price Cost Margin (PCM). Hasil analisis struktur, didapatkan bahwa tingkat konsentrasi industri rokok kretek berada pada struktur oligopoli ketat dengan kisaran rata-rata 71.77 persen. Rata-rata nilai MES yang mencerminkan hambatan masuk pada industri rokok kretek (72,17 persen). Adapun analisis perilaku industri rokok tidak terlepas dari peraturan pemerintah terutama dalam hal penetapan harga jual. Perilaku yang terkait dengan strategi promosi meskipun meningkatkan biaya promosi, tetap dilakukan untuk mempertahankan pangsa pasar yang besar.

Abstract

Local taxes are the source of local revenue. The collected local taxes can be used to support the economic growth of a region. The objectives of this research is (1) to identify the contribution of each post of local taxes to the locally-generated revenue of Kabupaten Karawang in 2011 – 2015 and (2) to identify the effectiveness of each local tax in Kabupaten Karawang to the locally-generated revenue in 2011 – 2015.This research used the quantitative method, which is the ratio analysis. Ratio analysis used is the  contribution ratio and effectiveness ratio. Data used in this research is secondary data obtained from Dinas Pendapatan dan Pengelolaan Keuangan Kabupaten Karawang in 2011 – 2015. The result of this research shows that the contribution of each post of the local taxes to the locally-generated revenue of Kabupaten Karawang is in the low category with the percentage of 1% to 20%. The effectiveness for each local tax in Kabupaten Karawang is in the very effective category with the average effectiveness ratio of higher than 100%.
