Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the comparison of the use of learning models that are applied (Learning Cycle and Lecture learning models) in economic subjects with government policy material in the economy in class IX science (Specialization) SMAN 9 Jambi City. Based on the results of the study, an analysis was obtained in the control class (the results of the initial pretest were 6 students who graduated and at the final pretest as many as 8 students graduated). Meanwhile, in the experimental class (the results of the initial pretest were 8 students who graduated and in the final pretest as many as 15 students who graduated from KKM). Meanwhile, in the control class post test as many as 23 students did not pass the KKM (67.65%), and only 11 students passed the KKM (32.35%), and in the experimental class post test students who had grades below KKM 8 students (23.53%) and above KKM 26 students (76.47%). Thus, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills, and help students be more focused in learning compared to the lecture learning model. Because when the teaching and learning process is more centered on the student's role and not dominated by the teacher's role, it is different from the lecture learning model where the teacher plays an active role when learning takes place. Abstract

This research investigates curriculum management implementation at a private MTs (Islamic junior high school) in Pantai Cermin sub-district, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Curriculum management is a systematic and cooperative process aimed at achieving educational goals. It operates at two levels: school-wide and classroom. The headmaster plays a key role at the school level, while teachers are crucial at the classroom level. This qualitative descriptive study utilized interviews, observations, and document reviews to gather primary and secondary data. The study involved the principal, deputy principal, teachers, and students as informants. The findings reveal that curriculum management at the school begins with thorough planning and successful implementation. The curriculum used is the 2013 curriculum, enriched with local wisdom and life skills education. External and internal factors support the process, while challenges include some educators' lack of professionalism, passive teaching methods, and substandard teaching tools. The curriculum management strategy focuses on developing a curriculum tailored to the students' and school's specific needs. The implementation has improved education quality, enhanced staff performance, increased public awareness of education's importance, optimized resource management for educators, and encouraged continuous innovation among teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to find out, see and analyze the use of the Jigsaw Learning Model and Problem Solving on Student Motivation and Outcomes in economics subjects. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research approach. The population in this study were 95 students of SMA Negeri 6 Tanjung Jabung Timur and a sample of 63 people using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used the inferential statistical analysis method and Ancova. The results of the hypothesis testing analysis show that (1) there is a significant influence of the jigsaw learning model on students' learning motivation with a significance value of 0.001 <0.05. (2) there is a significant influence of the jigsaw learning model on student learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.002 <0.05. (3) there is a significant effect of the problem solving learning model on student motivation with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. (4) there is a significant effect of the problem solving learning model on student learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.002 <0.05.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research discusses the analysis of translation procedures in The Secret Life of Pets movie subtitle. This research aims to find out the types of translation procedures, to analyze how the translation procedures worked in the movie subtitle of The Secret Life of Pets movie, and to find out the dominant type of translation procedure in the movie subtitle. Qualitative research is applied in this research. The data of this research are words, phrases, and clauses that are taken from The Secret Life of Pets movie as the source of data. Vinay and Darbelnet (2000) theory is used in analyzing the types of translation procedures in this research. The results of this research are (1) there are 100 total data for the seven types of translation procedures by Vinay and Darbelnet, such as thirty for borrowing, twenty for calque, seventeen for literal translation, ten for transposition, ten for modulation, twelve for equivalence, and one for adaptation, (2) The dialogues are being translated to match the target audience's cultural and linguistic traditions while keeping It’s original meaning and tone, and (3) The dominant type of translation procedure that are found in the movie subtitle is borrowing Keywords: Translation, Translation Procedures, Movie, Subtitle

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the cleanliness level and identify the facilities and services expected by guests at vila accommodations on Tanjung Bayang Beach, Makassar. The method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis with qualitative data collection techniques. The results show that cleanliness in the vilas needs to be improved to meet optimal standards. Recommendations include improving cleanliness in all vila areas and providing facilities that meet guests' expectations. The implementation of these findings is expected to increase guest satisfaction and the competitiveness of the vila accommodations

Abstract

This research discusses the influence of the use of clickbait headline news on Tribunnews.com on students’ reading interest. The theory used is uses and effect theory which explains that the use of media can cause many effects on an individual, The research method in this study is quantitative with aby sampling using the Non Probability Sampling method with the type of Porposive Sampling. The results of research and discussion showed that the use of clickbait headline newsdan a significant effect on students’ reading interest.

Abstract

This study explores the meaning of Yura Yunita’s song “Jalan Pulang” for out-of-town students. The primary objective is to understand how this song resonates with students who are studying far from home. The research employs a qualitative method with an Alfred Schutz phenomenological approach, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and literature studies. Data were collected from three informants who are Communication Science students at Singaperbangsa University, Karawang. The findings reveal that the song serves as a source of encouragement, a reminder of home, and a means of emotional expression. Each student interprets the song based on their personal experiences, highlighting the diverse meanings attributed to “Jalan Pulang.” These interpretations range from seeing the song as a motivational tool to viewing it as a form of emotional solace. This study concludes that “Jalan Pulang” plays a significant role in alleviating homesickness, enhancing emotional well-being, and providing psychological support to out-of-town students. The diverse interpretations underscore the song's powerful impact in helping students navigate the emotional challenges of studying far from their families.

Abstract

Film is part of audio-visual mass media communication and aims to convey social messages to the audience in accordance with the reality that is growing and developing in society. One of the films that has this purpose is the film Barbie Live Action 2023. The purpose of this research is to dissect the discourse in three dimensions, namely textual, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice. In this research, the type of research used is qualitative-descriptive research. The paradigm used in this research is the critical paradigm. The appropriate research method used for this research is Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis method. In the textual dimension, the linguistic tools of Diction, Cohesion, Modality and figure of speech metaphor are obtained. In the discourse practice dimension, at the production level the Barbie film is produced with two backgrounds, namely Barbieland and the real world, namely the city of Los Angles, United States with English language dialogue. At a text consumption level, the film is the highest-grossing box office film of all time with earnings of $1.45 billion. Sociocultural practices have 3 levels, namely situational, institutional and social levels. Situational Barbie script was written during the pandemic. For example, the film Barbie was a box office success in almost the entire world and became the hope of the global community regarding the end of the pandemic. Furthermore, at the institutional level, which includes the media, is Greta Gerwig herself as a film filmmaker. Warner Bros. is the production house for the 2023 Barbie Live Action film. Then there is Mattel as the company behind the production of Barbie dolls. Finally, at the social level, this film shows how patriarchy persists in reality, the social and cultural system of American society still adheres to patriarchal culture and neglects women's rights and protection.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar memainkan peran peting dalam menentukan hasil belajar peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan motivasi belajar siswa, untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa, dan mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan motivasi belajar siswa dengan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat korelasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian assosiatif yaitu hubungan antara variabel bebas yaitu motivasi belajar dengan variabel terikat yaitu hasil belajar kognitif IPA. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SDN 11 Singkawang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil/II tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V di SDN 11 Singkawang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan sampel jenuh, yaitu seluruh siswa kelas V di SDN 11 Singkawang dengan jumlah sampelnya adalah 21 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berdasarkan teknik angket dan pengukuran, yaitu menggunakan angket motivasi belajar siswa dan tes hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi pearson product moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Tingkat motivasi belajar siswa tergolong tinggi berdasarkan perhitungan presentase nilai siswa dengan rata-rata keseluruhan 67,06%, 2) Tingkat hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa tergolong tinggi dengan rata-rata keseluruhan skor siswa yaitu 6,11%, 3) Terdapat hubungan antara motivasi belajar siswa dengan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa kelas V SDN 11 Singkawang dengan koefisien determinan sebesar 61,5%. Jadi dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan terdapat hubungan antara motivasi belajar siswa dengan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis bullying yang dialami oleh tokoh Moon Dong Eun, pengaruh kemiskinan terhadap bullying yang dialami Moon Dong Eun semasa SMA dan nilai-nilai moral yang disajikan dalam serial The Glory. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah naskah serial The Glory (2022-2023) sebagai sumber datanya. Penelitian ini fokus pada jenis-jenis bullying, penyebab dan dampak bullying yang dialami oleh tokoh Moon Dong Eun berdasarkan teori Coloroso (2007) dan hasil pertemuan Kementerian Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Republik Indonesia. Indonesia, kemiskinan menurut Suryawati (2005: 122), dan nilai-nilai moral dalam serial “kemuliaan” menurut Wibawa (2013: 173). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Jenis-jenis perundungan yang dialami tokoh Moon Dong Eun adalah Perundungan Fisik atau Perilaku Nonverbal Langsung, Perundungan Verbal atau Perilaku Nonverbal Langsung, Perundungan Psikologis, Pelecehan Seksual. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari bullying adalah Keinginan Balas Dendam, Trauma, Kehilangan Impian, Pikiran untuk Bunuh Diri, Kerusakan Fisik, Kehilangan Keluarga dan penyebab terjadinya bullying adalah Sekolah, Teman/Teman, Kondisi Lingkungan Sosial, Keluarga, (2) Kemiskinan yang dialami oleh Moon Tokoh Dong Eun adalah kemiskinan struktural (3) Nilai moral dalam serial “The Glory” adalah Moral Etika dan Kesusilaan serta Moral Disiplin dan Hukum.
