Abstract

AbstractThe growth of electric vehicles (EVs) continues to increase in line with the global awareness of the importance of using environmentally friendly energy. One of the main components in an EV system is the battery, which requires an efficient and safe charging system. The Constant Current–Constant Voltage (CC-CV) charging method is one of the most commonly used approaches, as it maintains stable current and voltage during the charging process. This study aims to design a battery charging system simulation for electric vehicles using the CC-CV method, analyze the charging performance characteristics, and evaluate its efficiency. The research method used is simulation with MATLAB/Simulink software. The research stages include literature review, problem identification, circuit simulation design, simulation implementation, and result analysis. A PI Controller is employed to precisely regulate current and voltage, along with State of Charge (SoC) and voltage sensors to monitor the battery condition in real-time. Simulation results show that the system is capable of automatically transitioning between Constant Current (CC) and Constant Voltage (CV) modes responsively and stably. In CC mode, charging occurs rapidly with constant current, while in CV mode, voltage is kept stable and current gradually decreases. The achieved charging indicating that the CC-CV method enables a fast, safe, and efficient charging process while minimizing the risks of overcharging and overvoltage.

Abstract

The research was conducted by researchers at Trienggadeng State Vocational School located on Jl Banda Aceh-Medan KM 152, Kec. Trienggadeng Regency. Pidie Jaya. This research is based on the importance of the network in the ongoing teaching and learning process in the network and computer labs, the network in the lab is currently not managed properly and the distribution of bandwidth is not evenly distributed. To get a good internet connection, it is necessary to distribute bandwidth evenly, which can be done using a proxy router. One of the features for distributing bandwidth evenly in the proxy router can be applied using the simple queue and queue tree methods, knowing network quality can be done using Quality of Service (QoS) measurements. This study aims to determine the analysis of network quality using Qos on proxy routers using the simple queue and queue tree methods. The method used in this study is to use the action research method (action research), the stages of the research are analyzing, data collection, data completeness, making network designs, and taking action. The results obtained for network analysis in a comparative study between simple queue and queue tree networks, the results for the delay obtained by the queue tree are 9 ms, packet loss = 0%, and throughput = 549 k. Whereas the simple queue obtains the value from the QoS measurement by performing calculations with the equation formula to obtain a value of delay = 8 ms, packet loss = 0.15% and throughput = 629 k. Based on the Tiphon standard, it can be concluded that for delay, a queue tree is better with a value above the simple queue with a very good index, the packet loss queue tree is better than the simple queue, the index is very good, the throughput of the simple queue is better compared to the throughput queue tree. This research shows that overall Queue Tree is more optimal for QoS.

Abstract

Smoke-Free Areas are implemented to protect public health; however, monitoring and evaluating compliance remain challenging due to the lack of automated and spatially integrated monitoring systems. This study aims to develop a mapping and classification system for Smoke-Free Area (KTR) compliance using the YOLOv11 object detection algorithm and Geographic Information System (GIS)-based spatial analysis on environmental images. Data collection was conducted in Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe, at nine observation locations consisting of places of worship, public open spaces, and workplaces. The dataset consisted of three object classes, namely smoking activity, cigarette, and ashtray, combined with spatial variables such as latitude and longitude, where latitude represents the north–south geographic position and longitude represents the east–west geographic position of each observation point. These spatial variables were integrated with the YOLOv11 detection results to enable the mapping and visualization of KTR violations within the GIS environment. The YOLOv11 model was evaluated using precision, recall, mAP50, and mAP50-95 metrics. Experimental results showed that the model achieved a precision value of 0.772, recall of 0.741, mAP50 of 0.770, and mAP50-95 of 0.602, indicating moderate object detection performance under various environmental conditions. Spatial analysis results revealed that out of 145 observation points, 112 points were categorized as major violations, 25 points as minor violations, and only 8 points as compliant areas. Therefore, the integration of YOLOv11 and GIS provides a digital-based approach for supporting Smoke-Free Area compliance monitoring and spatial analysis.
