Abstract

The ability to speak well and purposefully must be instilled in children from an early age. This is possible through the learning process at school using interesting learning methods and media according to the child's cognitive style. Because spoken language conveyed through speaking is a tool for expressing thoughts and feelings and a means of communication between humans. This will help improve children's speaking ability. This research aims to determine the differences in speaking abilities between students using the unplugged activity method and those using the beyond center and circle times (BCCT). Determine the differences in speaking ability between students with a field-dependence cognitive style and those with a field-independence cognitive style. The researcher tests the interaction between learning methods and cognitive style regarding speaking ability. This research uses an experimental design. The subjects were PGRI Jambon Kindergarten students (TK B1) and (TK B2) who studied the theme of Animals, totaling 44 children. The cognitive style was measured using a questionnaire based on the Children Embedded Figure Test (CEFT). Data analysis of relationships and interactions between variables used the two-way ANOVA test. The research results show that differences influence speaking ability between students using unplugged activity learning and BCCT. Some differences influence the student’s speaking abilities with a field-independence cognitive style and those with a field-dependence cognitive style. There is an interaction between learning methods and cognitive style regarding speaking ability.

Abstract

The government focuses on the challenges senior vocational high schools (SMK) face in producing competent and employable graduates. Issues include a lack of curriculum alignment with industry demands, low absorption of graduates in the job market, and mismatched competencies with industry needs, leading to a lack of mental readiness for work among graduates. This research aims to test the soft skills abilities of students being taught with PjBL and conventional models with high and low self-efficacy and the interaction between learning models and self-efficacy towards students' soft skills abilities. This research uses a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects were class XI students at SMKN 1 Blitar. This study selected 33 students in the experimental class and 33 in the control class. Learning in the experimental and control classes was carried out in 6 meetings with multicamera material—analysis of relationship and interaction data between variables using the two-way ANOVA test. The research results show a difference in soft skills abilities among students taught with the PjBL model and what is taught conventionally soft skills in high and low self-efficacy, as well as an interaction between the PjBL model and self-efficacy toward soft skills abilities. The research limitation only supports soft skills learning outcomes.

Abstract

Online project-based learning models have become a significant concern in modern education. In physics subjects, understanding motion dynamics requires strong critical thinking skills. The research aims to describe students' critical thinking abilities regarding the concept of using project-based learning online (PJBoL) and face-to-face (PjBL) based on the level of self-efficacy (high, medium, low) and interaction between learning methods and self-efficacy. This research used an experimental design with research subjects in the form of class XI students at SMAN 1 Kesamben. Learning was carried out over six meetings using the same material. The independent variable in this research is the PjBoL model, while the dependent variable is students' critical thinking abilities. Data analysis was done using two-way ANCOVA to evaluate the relationships and interactions between these variables. The research results show a significant difference in students' critical thinking abilities on the concept of dynamics of motion between PJBoL and face-to-face, as well as in students' critical thinking abilities on self-efficacy. It is recommended that the PjBL Model, carried out face-to-face, is suitable for millennial students and has been proven to have better critical thinking learning outcomes.
