Abstract

Bullying and radicalism share common ground as forms of antisocial behavior characterized by violence. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the PROGRES intervention, designed to enhance prosocial and respectful attitudes and increase knowledge about bullying and radicalism among fifth-grade students. Employing a pre-posttest control group design with 150 students from urban elementary schools, this research utilized hypothesis testing through Independent Sample T-test and Paired Sample T-test. Results indicated that the PROGRES intervention significantly increased prosocial attitudes by 92.53%, respectful attitudes by 94.15%, and knowledge about bullying and radicalism by 98.12% and 97.01%, respectively (p 0.05 for all). These findings suggest that the PROGRES intervention could play a crucial role in educational strategies to combat bullying and radicalism, emphasizing its potential incorporation into school curricula nationwide.

Abstract

Spirituality in education has recently become an interesting topic and discussion in the field, demanding theory, practice, and even appreciation and real action. Education in Indonesia, especially religious education and Spirituality, as early as possible becomes the foundation and dimension of life with a fragmented understanding of experience and encounters with religious traditions. This article aims to investigate students’ understandings, both theory and perception, of Spirituality and religious education in the context of education. In-depth, structured, and semi-structured interviews were conducted for 120 students using a qualitative research design. They were led in this situation by using a Google form as a lens to gauge their comprehension of the research focus. The research results have shown some points. First, Spirituality and religious education are ill-defined abstract concepts. Second, there is a correlation between Spirituality and religious instruction. Third, religion and Spirituality are like an esophagus, an oasis in the digital age. Spirituality and religious education are polarized contextually.

Abstract

Efforts to realize student well-being are of particular concern in Indonesia. Unfortunately, a scale measuring student well-being for elementary school students is still scarce. This study aimed to develop and validate a scale for the well-being of elementary school students in Indonesia. The scale was developed based on the Student Well-being Model and analyzed using the Rasch Model. This study involved 414 respondents who were Grade 5 or Grade 6 elementary school students in Malang city. Based on the analysis of the Rasch model, there are 19 items (out of 28 items) whose values meet the criteria for outfit MNSQ, outfit ZSTD, and point measure correlation. This scale has a dimensionality value of 42.9%, item separation of 6.93, and item reliability of 0.98, and the results of the DIF analysis showed no bias toward gender or class identity. Overall, it can be concluded that the Student Well-being in Elementary Schools scale has good psychometric properties, so it is suitable for measuring student well-being in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

There are various kinds of interaction-based E-Learning methods that can be used by educational institutions during the Covid 19 Pandemic, including the Inter-group collaborative and competitive method. This type of research is quantitative comparative using the T test to determine differences in social interactions that occur in students before using collaborative and competitive methods-Inter-group with after using collaborative and competitive-Inter-group methods. The number of samples used in this study were 62 Widya Kartika University students divided into 2 classes, 24 students in the experimental class and 38 students in the control class. The results showed that there were differences in social interaction before and after using the inter-group and collaborative competitive methods. The recommendation of this study is that the interaction-based method can be used as a learning method to increase student social interaction during e-learning.
