Abstract

Effective communication is essential for teamwork effectiveness in healthcare, particularly in inpatient units where patient care requires coordination among multiple professionals. Internal data from Hospital X showed that more than 50% of medical incidents in the last two years were related to miscommunication among healthcare workers. In addition, the 2024 employee satisfaction survey reported that workplace communication satisfaction was only 62%, below the hospital target of 75%. This study aimed to examine the influence of effective communication on teamwork effectiveness with interprofessional collaboration as an intervening variable at Hospital X.This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design involving 226 healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and medical support staff. Data were analyzed using the Three-Box Method and PLS-SEM. The findings revealed that effective communication significantly influenced teamwork effectiveness both directly and indirectly through interprofessional collaboration. Interprofessional collaboration also acted as a significant mediating variable between communication and teamwork effectiveness. These results indicate that communication is a key foundation for strengthening collaboration and improving teamwork in hospitals. Therefore, hospitals should enhance communication training and interprofessional collaboration programs to improve healthcare quality and patient safety

Abstract

Although strategies for developing the patchouli oil business to increase community income have received attention in a number of studies, studies that specifically examine empirical conditions at the local level, particularly regarding price fluctuations, technological limitations, and their impact on community income, remain limited. This study aims to describe the strategy for developing the patchouli oil business in an effort to increase community income in Nagari Sarik, Luhak Nan Duo Subdistrict, West Pasaman Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design, involving a number of informants consisting of patchouli farmers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the development of the patchouli oil business was influenced by significant price fluctuations, limitations of distillation equipment that remained traditional, high production costs, as well as pest disturbances and weather factors. Farmers’ income varied depending on land area and production yield, but the net profit obtained was relatively small after deducting production costs. These findings contribute to the development of the concept of business development strategies in the community-based agribusiness sector while broadening understanding of patchouli oil business management at the local level. This study concludes that improving production quality, technological innovation, and institutional support are important factors in increasing community income. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the development of Islamic economics and practical contributions for the government and the community in formulating sustainable business development strategies, while also opening opportunities for further research related to market aspects and the patchouli oil supply chain.

Abstract

Efforts to increase the income of oil palm farmers have received attention in several studies, but research that specifically discusses the integration of farmers’ income improvement strategies with the perspective of Islamic Economics in a local context remains limited. This study aims to analyze farmers’ efforts to increase income in Jorong Simpang Tiga Alin, Gunung Tuleh Subdistrict, from the perspective of Islamic Economics. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 20 informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews and observation, and were then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that oil palm production tended to decline during the 2022–2024 period even though the land area remained relatively constant, while farmers’ income fluctuated from year to year. The efforts made by farmers to increase income included optimizing land use, using superior seedlings, applying intensive fertilization, and implementing simple mechanization. These findings indicate that increasing farmers’ income is determined not only by the efficiency of managing production factors, but also by the application of the values of justice, maslahah, and sustainability in farm management. The conclusion of this study affirms the importance of strengthening production efficiency and access to resources in order to increase farmers’ income, while also providing theoretical implications for the development of Islamic Economics studies and practical implications for the formulation of agricultural policies that are more supportive of farmers’ welfare.

Abstract

The role of Islamic banks in improving the welfare of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in rural communities has received attention in various studies, but research specifically examining the role of Islamic banks in the welfare of MSME actors in Bungaraya Village, Bungaraya Subdistrict, Siak Regency, Riau Province remains limited. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic banks in improving the welfare of MSMEs in Bungaraya Village and to identify the barriers faced by the community in accessing Islamic banking services. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 10 MSME informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and field notes, and were then analyzed using the interactive analysis technique of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Islamic banks play an important role in assisting business capital, increasing production capacity, and supporting the economic stability of MSME actors through sharia-based financing. In addition to providing economic benefits, Islamic banking services also provide a sense of security and peace of mind because transactions are carried out in accordance with Islamic principles. However, the use of Islamic banking services still faces barriers in the form of low Islamic financial literacy, limited access to services, minimal product socialization, and the public perception that sharia financing procedures are more complicated than those of conventional institutions. The conclusion of this study affirms that Islamic banks have a strategic role in supporting the welfare and economic empowerment of rural MSMEs. These findings contribute to the development of Islamic economics studies and sharia-based community empowerment, while also providing practical implications regarding the importance of strengthening Islamic financial literacy and inclusion among rural communities.

Abstract

Firm value is an important indicator that reflects investors’ perceptions of a company’s performance and prospects. Although the relationship between tax planning, debt policy, firm size, and firm value has been widely examined, studies that specifically analyze these three variables in Basic Materials sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2021–2024 period remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of tax planning, debt policy, and firm size on firm value. This study used a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The sample consisted of 18 companies selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 61 observations after outlier elimination. Data were collected through documentation of companies’ annual financial reports and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results show that tax planning and firm size have a positive and significant effect on firm value, whereas debt policy has no significant effect. Simultaneously, tax planning, debt policy, and firm size have a significant effect on firm value. These findings contribute to the development of Signaling Theory in explaining the formation of firm value through financial information perceived by investors as market signals. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of the effectiveness of tax planning and firm size in increasing firm value. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the development of financial management literature as well as practical implications for company management in formulating strategies to increase firm value. Keywords: Tax Planning; Debt Policy; Firm Size; Firm Value; Basic Materials Sector
