Abstract:The purpose of this study is to improve students' communication skills using Think-Talk-Write learning model on buffer solution material in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research. The completed research was implemented to the first semester of eleventh grade students in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak there where 36 students from XI IPA class of academic year 2014/2015. The implementation of this research through two cycles, each cycle consists of one meeting with the time allocation of each meeting is 2 x 45 minutes. Cycle I consists of the consept and buffer solution concept, while cycle II consists of pH value of buffer solution. Communication skills in this study include group discussions, asking questions, responding to peer presentation and drawing conclusions. The research instrument was the observation sheet of the learning process and the communication skill observation sheet. The result of communication skill shows that cycle I is 27,08% and cycle II shows 56,94%, it can be concluded that learning using Think-Talk-Write model can be used to improve students communication skill. Abstract This research is based on the importance of critical thinking skills in the teaching and learning of Chemistry. The purpose of this research is to describe the critical thinking skills possessed by the students of Chemistry Education of Teachers Training and Education Faculty of Tanjungpura University. The subject of this research is the sixth semester students of Chemistry Education of Teachers Training and Education Faculty of Tanjungpura University. The type of this research is descriptive research and it applies survey method. The research instrument is critical thinking test skills of Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal. The result of the critical thinking skills is as follows: that 37.5% students is able to analyze the arguments at the advanced level; 50% students is able to interpret the information at the advanced level; 56.25% students is able to evaluate the assumption at the advanced level; 68.75% students is able to conduct the generalization at the advanced level; and 62.5% students is able to draw a conclusion at the advanced level. It means the critical thinking skills of the sixth semester students of Chemistry Education of Teachers Training and Education Faculty of Tanjungpura University at the advanced level. Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media booklet CHERLYS dengan pendekatan konstruktivistik terhadap hasil belajar dan respon siswa SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak pada materi hidrolisis garam.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA3 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA4 kelas eksperimen. penggumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes hasil belajar dan angket respon. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji U-Mann Whitney menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas eksperimen yang diberi pembelajaran menggunakan media booklet CHERLYS dengan pendekatan kontruktivistik. Berdasarkan perhitungan effect size diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh media booklet CHERLYS terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 35,54%. Respon siswa terhadap media booklet CHERLYS dengan pendekatan konstruktivistik diperoleh rata-rata tingkat persetujuan sebesar 90,91% yang tergolong sangat kuat.  Kata Kunci : Media Booklet, Konstruktivistik, Hasil Belajar  Abstract: This research aims to determine the effect of contructivist approach of CHERLYS booklet media towards learning outcome and response of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak students on salt hydrolysis material. The research method was quasi-experimental and the research design was nonequivalent control group design. The study sample were the students of XI grade of IPA3 as control class and XI grade of IPA4 as experimental class. Data were collected by using learning outcome test and response questionnaire. The result of data analysis using U-Mann Whitney test showed the differences of learning outcome between students of control class and students of experimental class that were taught by using constructivist approach of CHERLYS booklet media. Based on calculation of effect size showed there were significant effect of CHERLYS booklet media to increase learning outcome around 35,54%. Student’s response towards constructivist approach of CHERLYS booklet media obtained a strong average rate of approval around 90,91%.  Keyword : booklet media, constructivist, the learning outcome

AbstrackThe research was aimed to find out the effect of powtoon toward motivation and learning outcomes on the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Pontianak about Elements, compounds and mixtures subject material. Purposive sampling used to selecting the sample. The essay test and questionnaire about students? motivation were used as instruments. The posttest results of both class were analyzed using the U-Mann Whitney test with a= 5%. The result showed that the value of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) 0.000. It indicated that there was a difference between learning outcomes in control and experiment class. The questionnaire about students? motivation results of both class were analyzed using the U-Mann Whitney test with a= 5%. It also revealed the value of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) at 0.000. It indicated that there was the difference students? motivation in control and experiment class. Powtoon as the media in learning procces effected toward the students?learning outcomes as much as 40.66%. Kata kunci: Powtoon, Unsur, Senyawa dan Campuran, Motivasi, Hasil Belajar.

AbstractThis study aims to determine differences misconception before and after remediation and the effectiveness of remediation using refutation text reading to correct misconceptions of students of class XII IPA in senior high school Panca Bhakti Pontianak academic year 2018/2019 on acid-base material. The form of research used is experimental (Pre-Experimental Design) with the design of the One-Group Post-Test Pre-Test. Data are 28 students with purposive sampling technique. The test used is a multiple choice of diagnostic test with closed reasoning. Based on the results of data analysis, there was a decrease in the average percentage of students' conceptual errors of 35.36%. Differences in student learning outcomes were tested by t-paired and obtained significance results of 0,000 which showed data had differences between before and after remediation with refutation text. The effectiveness of remediation with refutation text on acid-base material gives an average yield of 0.45 belonging to the medium category. Remediate with refutation text is effective reduce students' misconceptions. Keywords: refutation text, remediation, misconception, acid base.

AbstractThis research aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes between students’ are given learning by practicum method and conventional methods, the magnitude effect of practicum method toward learning outcome and to describe students’ motivation of 7th grade SMP Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak are given learning by practicum method in the chemical mixture material. The research method was quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The study sample was determined by Random sampling technique. The instrument that used were as a test of learning outcome in the form of essays and students’ motivation questionnaire. Based on data analysis using the U Mann-Whitney test, obtained value Asymp. sig. ((2-tailed) .006 indicating that there was a difference in students’ learning outcomes. The practicum method gave the effect of 21.90% on improving students’ learning outcomes. Motivation of students on learning practicum method in the chemical mixture material obtained approval levels by an average of 74.27% were classified as high.  Keywords: Chemical Mixture, Learning Outcomes, Motivation, and Practicum

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the profile of students's scientific work skills before and after being applied to guided inquiry learning models in the "reaction rate" material and determine the differences in scientific work skills of students in Pontianak 8 State High School 2018/2019 academic year. This study used a pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest research design. The sample in this study were students of class XI MIPA 2 with the determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique. Data collection uses measurement techniques and direct communication techniques. After data analysis, the results of the pretest showed that the scientific work skills of students were in the unskilled, less skilled, category at 45.5%; 54.5%. Then the posttest results showed that the scientific work skills of students were in the category of less skilled, skilled, highly skilled in a row of 3.03%; 24.24%; 72.73%. Wilcoxon test results have shown there are differences in scientific work skills before and after learning, it can be concluded that students' scientific work skills increase after applied guided inquiry learning models. Keywords: scientific work skills, guided inquiry, reaction rate

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media komik terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak pada materi tata nama senyawa kimia. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan rancangan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XA dan XB yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data posttest menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney, diperoleh nilai Sig. sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan media komik dengan siswa yang belajar tanpa menggunakan media komik. Penggunaan media komik memberikan pengaruh sebesar 27,04% terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi tata nama senyawa kimia.  Kata Kunci: Media Komik, Tata Nama Senyawa  Abstract: This research was conducted to know the effect using media of comic toward learning outcomes tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak in the material chemical compounds nomenclature. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diberi direct corrective feedback pada pekerjaan rumah dengan siswa tanpa pemberian direct corrective feedback pada pekerjaan rumah dan mengetahui besarnya pengaruh pemberian direct corrective feedback pada pekerjaan rumah terhadap hasil belajar dalam materi termokimia kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian ?Nonequivalent Control Group Design?. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling, dan dipilih siswa kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol serta XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar. Analisis data menggunakan uji U-Mann Whitney menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang diberi direct corrective feedback dengan siswa tanpa pemberian direct corrective feedback pekerjaan rumah. Berdasarkan nilai effect size, direct corrective feedback memberikan pengaruh sebesar 44,29% terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. The form research that used was quasi-experimental with research design was "Nonequivalent Control Group Design". Sampling using random sampling technique, and selected students of grade XI IPA 1 as the control class and XI IPA 3 as the experimental class. Instruments of data used in this study is the learning result. Data analysis used U-Mann Whitney test showed that there were differences learning result between students who were given direct corrective feedback with students who were not given direct corrective feedback on homework. AbstractThe purposes of this research are to; (1) determine the differences in learning outcomes between students who taught by TSTS cooperative model assisted with students? worksheet and the students who taught by conventional model; (2) to determine the influence of TSTS cooperative model toward learning outcomes on reaction rate materials. This research is a quasi experimental using nonequivalent control group design. Saturation sampling is the sampling method that will be conducted in this research. Data collecting technique that will be conducted are scaling, observation and interview. While the instrument of the research are learning tests outcomes, observation sheets and interview guidance. Based on statistic data analysis using Mann Whitney U as ? = 0,05, resulting sig score 0,014 < 0,05 which means there is a differences in learning outcomes between students who taught by TSTS cooperative model assisted with students? worksheet and the students who taught by conventional model. The use of TSTS cooperative model of students? worksheet gave influences 24, 22% to the students learning outcomes on reaction rate materials.
