Abstract

Translation is the process of conveying the meaning of a text accurately into a target language. Slang refers to informal language commonly used in casual conversations, making it unsuitable for formal situation. This study investigates the types of slang words and the translation strategies used in the subtitles of the movie Inside Out 2. Drawing on Allan and Burridge’s (2006) classification, the research identifies four types of slang—fresh and creative, flippant, imitative, and clipping—across 229 instances in the movie. Additionally, Baker’s (1992) translation strategies were analyzed to determine the most effective methods for rendering these slang expressions into the target language. The findings reveal that "direct translation" was the most frequently employed strategy (45.41%), followed by paraphrasing with related (18.78%) and unrelated words (16.16%). The study highlights the nuanced decision-making process involved in translating culturally specific and idiomatic language, offering practical insights for translators and contributing to the broader academic discourse on subtitling practices.

Abstract

The existence of Bina Bangsa University through KKM – PKM activities needs to be felt for its benefits, especially for the people of Gunung Sugih Village, Cilegon City. This is a concern for the service team because there are still many elements of the community that need to contribute to improving community welfare, one of which is PKK women in Gunung Sugih Village, Ciwandan District, Cilegon City.  The purpose of this service program is to increase insight and skills as an entrepreneurial provision for PKK women in Gunung Sugih Village through the manufacture of spice tea made from turmeric, ginger, lemongrass and galangal.               The methods used in this service are 1) the preparation stage (input), 2) the implementation stage (production process) and 3) monitoring, observation, evaluation and reporting of the results.               The result of this service is input, conducting a survey to find out the environmental conditions around Gunung Sugih village. Then conduct socialization to PKK women in the Gunung Sugih environment. Next is a feasibility study on the business that will be run by providing a seminar on new business start-ups through the spice tea business. The last stage is the selection of materials and the provision of places as well as facilities and infrastructure to support the production process. The process (production), the process of making spice tea starts from the preparation of ingredients and tools until the product is ready to be marketed. Output, which is the result of spice tea drinks that are ready to be consumed and marketed to consumers. The last is evaluation, which is that this stage is carried out when the production of spice tea products has been completed. At this stage, we will review the shortcomings that make consumers uncomfortable with our products. The conclusion of the KKM - PKM program can provide skills to PKK women to remain innovative and creative in processing the business of herbal tea spices that have become a characteristic of Indonesia, provide opportunities for PKK women to practice entrepreneurship with a comprehensive understanding of the concept of entrepreneurship, and build the spirit of PKK women to continue doing business

Abstract

Social media sentiment analysis has become increasingly important with the rise of platforms like Twitter and Facebook as sources of public opinion. This study evaluates the performance of three machine learning algorithms—Naïve Bayes, k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Support Vector Machines (SVM)—in classifying sentiment from social media data. Using a dataset in Indonesian, we apply cross-validation techniques to measure accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and computation time for each algorithm. The results show that SVM achieves the highest accuracy and F1-score, while Naïve Bayes offers better computational speed. KNN demonstrates the lowest performance in terms of accuracy and efficiency. These findings provide guidance for practitioners and researchers in selecting the appropriate algorithm for sentiment analysis based on their specific needs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of financial behavior, financial inclusion, and financial technology on MSME performance with financial literacy as a mediating variable. The research population included all micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) located in Ciamis Regency, and the sample was drawn using a random sampling technique. A total of 106 respondents participated; this number was determined by applying Slovin's formula. Information was collected using a questionnaire, which was then processed and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results show that financial behavior has a positive impact on MSME performance, financial inclusion has no significant impact on MSME performance, financial technology has no impact on MSME performance, and financial literacy has a positive impact on MSME performance, financial literacy acts as an intermediary between financial behavior and MSME performance, financial literacy mediates the relationship between financial inclusion and MSME performance, and financial literacy does not mediate the relationship between financial technology and MSME performance. Recommendations for government agencies and financial institutions include providing well-structured financial literacy programs and assisting MSMEs in implementing financial technology. This approach is intended to increase MSMEs' access to financial services as well as their capacity for sustainable growth by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively utilize these resources in their day-to-day business activities.

Abstract

Business capital management is one of the main factors that affect productivity in obtaining planned results or outputs. Every MSME must develop its competitive advantage to survive and advance its MSMEs. The level of effectiveness of the use of business capital is very important for the growth and sustainability of MSMEs. If MSMEs lack business capital to expand sales and increase production, they are likely to lose revenue and profits. The size of a capital depends on the type of business it is running, and generally the community recognizes the types of micro, small, medium and large businesses, where each of these types of businesses requires different capital and within certain limits. Every MSME has a main objective, namely MSMEs have the aim of obtaining maximum profit. Therefore, business capital must be managed as effectively as possible so that the profitability of MSMEs can be increased. This PKM activity was carried out for Gading Bersinar Depok MSME players. The existence of this PKM activity is expected that MSME players can find out the development of their business and can manage business capital to support the progress of MSMEs in Gading Bersinar Depok

Abstract

The Barbie (2023) film has succeeded in presenting more than just a light spectacle about the iconic doll. Behind the bright colors and seemingly perfect atmosphere of Barbie Land, this film explores profound themes, including identity, gender roles, feminism, and social criticism of society's expectations of women. The archetypal character of Stereotypical Barbie, as the main character, plays a vital role in this film as a representation of the perfect woman in Barbie Land. This study aims to analyze the psychological factors in Barbie's journey that may interfere with or support her. This is reflected in several patterns called archetypes in her personality traits and behavior when facing several stages of the storyline. The data for this study used the film "Barbie" (2023) by Greta Gerwig. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, using a psychoanalytic approach (Jung's Archetype theory). The results found seven archetypal characters represented by Stereotypical Barbie. The findings are Persona, Shadow, Animus, The Great Mother, Hero, Trickster, and Self. These findings will help us understand how the psychological layers in Barbie's story reveal complex dynamics about women's roles, identity crises, and the search for self.
