Abstract

This paper was written aimed at explaining the understanding of management, scope of management, and leadership of Islamic education. The writing method uses Ms. Word and journal templates. Zotero applications are used for citations and APA 7th (American Psychological Association 7th edition) as a reference style. The paper discussion data is obtained from primary and secondary data derived from international and nationally reputable books and journals. The results of the paper suggest that management activities cover a broad spectrum, starting from activities on how to determine the direction of the organization in the future, creating organizational activities, encouraging cooperation between fellow members of the organization, and overseeing activities in achieving the goals. Islamic education leadership is a leadership process in Islamic education to move, influence, motivate, and direct people within educational institutions to achieve the goals that have been formulated.

Abstract

The research aims to analyse the potential application of the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) method in uncovering the configuration of managerial factors that contribute to the effectiveness of education management, and to evaluate the relevance of QCA as a set-theoretical approach in strategic decision-making of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in higher education. This research employs a qualitative approach, drawing on systematic literature reviews and case studies from educational management, particularly those examining university governance and institutional performance. The results show that (QCA) has a strong potential to uncover the configuration of managerial factors that contribute to the effectiveness of education management and the (SPMI) in higher education, not through a single variable but through a combination of conditions such as the strength of SPMI implementation, the application of Good University Governance (GUG) principles, Leadership support, and a consistent quality evaluation system. This research contributes by offering a conceptual framework for applying QCA in educational management and by providing research recommendations.

Abstract

The return to face-to-face learning after the COVID-19 pandemic presents new challenges in developing the affective domain among prospective Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers. This study investigates how direct classroom interaction influences affective competence and identifies obstacles lecturers face in enhancing this domain. A qualitative approach was used, involving 52 PAI students and eight lecturers from two state Islamic higher education institutions in Banten. Data collection methods included questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The data were examined using thematic analysis supported by simple descriptive statistics. Findings reveal that 81% of student participants experienced increased motivation and emotional engagement due to direct interaction with lecturers. This interaction fostered core affective qualities such as empathy, respect, and appreciation. Despite these positive outcomes, the study identified inconsistencies in lecturers’ application of affective-based teaching strategies, highlighting a gap in pedagogical effectiveness. The results underscore the importance of face-to-face interaction in supporting emotional and value-based learning. However, the variability in instructional delivery indicates a need for structured efforts to equip lecturers with strategies for affective education. To strengthen the affective domain in post-pandemic education, targeted professional development programs are essential. Enhancing lecturers’ competencies in affective pedagogy will better prepare PAI students to become empathetic and emotionally intelligent educators.

Abstract

The success of an organization is largely determined by effective leadership. The two most studied and applied leadership approaches in the context of modern management are transformational leadership and transactional leadership. Transformational leadership focuses on efforts to inspire, motivate, and empower organizational members to go beyond personal interests to achieve a common goal. Transformational leaders emphasize long-term vision, positive change, and individual development. Meanwhile, transactional leadership emphasizes the exchange relationship between leader and subordinate, where performance is rewarded through a clear system of rewards and punishments. This research aims to analyze the characteristics, strengths, and shortcomings of each leadership style, as well as its impact on organizational performance. The results of the study show that both leadership styles have complementary roles in various situations, and their effectiveness is greatly influenced by the organizational context, work culture, and characteristics of the individuals involved. A deep understanding of these two styles can assist leaders in choosing the right approach to improve leadership effectiveness and overall organizational success. Abstract

Education in this country until now is still overshadowed by various problems. These multiple problems have serious consequences for the quality of education. In this case, the leadership aspect is part of the pillars supporting education. Prophetic leadership is the ideal form of leadership, which, of course, influences the quality of education, especially teacher competence. The author is interested in conducting a correlational study of prophetic leadership and teacher competence to examine how prophetic leadership relates to and contributes to teacher competence. The method used in this research is the quantitative correlation method. This research shows that prophetic leadership significantly influences teacher competence. Based on the results of the correlation test, both at MTsN 1 Serang City and at SMPN 1 Baros Serang Regency, the prophetic leadership of educational institution heads significantly contributes to PAI teachers' competency. Still, the degree of correlation differs between the two. The prophetic leadership of the head of the institution at SMPN 1 Baros, Serang Regency, shows a strong correlation. In contrast, at MTsN 1 Serang City, the correlation is moderate. Future research should include a larger, more diverse sample, examine longitudinal data, and consider additional qualitative dimensions to capture better how prophetic leadership influences teacher competence development across various educational settings. This study is limited to two academic institutions in Serang, making broad generalizations difficult. It also does not account for potential moderating factors such as institutional culture, teacher demographics, or leadership training experiences.

Abstract

Kun Karima Islamic Boarding School in Pandeglang, as one of the Islamic educational institutions in Pandeglang Regency, plays a vital role in shaping the character and knowledge of its students. The success of personality education is strongly influenced by the internalization of religious values within the learners. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to illustrate the alignment between parental attention, student interest, and the duration of learning in developing Islamic character. The findings reveal that parents’ interest in choosing MTs Kun Karima Pandeglang as a pesantren-based educational institution is influenced by the need for an education system capable of comprehensively shaping students’ Islamic character. Parents perceive the pesantren system as more effective in integrating Islamic Religious Education with daily life practices through the habituation of worship, teacher role modeling, a religious environment, and an evaluation system that emphasizes not only academic achievement but also the cultivation of morality and religious behavior. Pesantren is considered able to balance mastery of knowledge with the strengthening of spiritual values, thereby producing graduates who are not only intellectually competent but also possess faith, piety, and noble character as essential provisions for facing the challenges of modern life.

Abstract

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in shaping quality human resources through the implementation of educational quality management and the improvement of teacher quality as the main implementers of the learning process. This study was motivated by the importance of the role of educational institution leaders in fostering, directing, and empowering teachers to achieve optimal education quality. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation and strategies used by educational institution leaders in improving quality management among teachers at MTs Negeri 1 and MTs Negeri 2 in Serang Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that educational institution leaders have implemented quality management by applying five competencies of madrasah principals, namely personality, managerial, entrepreneurial, supervisory, and social competencies. This implementation is realized through systematic program planning, continuous academic supervision, and teacher professional development through MGMP activities, workshops, seminars, and performance monitoring. Improvements in education quality were also made through the integrated management of inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes. Supporting factors in the implementation of quality management included the leadership competencies of madrasah principals, teacher commitment and participation, a collaborative work culture, and the use of technology and managerial innovation. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include differences in teachers' understanding of quality management, limited time for professional development, limited infrastructure, and resistance to change. Overall, participatory and collaborative leadership has proven to be able to improve the quality of education and teachers in madrasahs.
