Abstract

The capital market has an influential role in the national economy of countries, including Indonesia. The capital market in Indonesia is regulated by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with the new regulation number Kep-00113/BEI/12-2016 that focuses on five price categories of tick size. This study aimed to investigate the impact of five price categories in tick size policy on liquidity and volatility based on the LQ45 index and examine factors that influence stock return. This study was performed using a paired sample T-test and panel regression test. The result of the different test indicates a significant change in bid-ask spread, Depth, Depth to relative spread (DRS), volume, and volatility. The five price category in the tick size policy does not affect the depth. It is found that all the variables have a smaller value after the implementation of the tick size policy. The results of the panel regression test show that depth, volume, and volatility have a significant influence on stock returns, while the bid-ask spread, and DRS does not affect stock returns. The result of this study was expected to improve understanding of the tick size regulation to determine the best stock investment strategy.JEL Classification: G11, G12, G23, R53DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/jkdp.v23i1.2598

Abstract

Following the enactment of Law Number 23 of 2014 on the Regional Government, which superseded Law Number 22 of 1999 and Law Number 32 of 2004, now the local government has no longer holds an authority to manage state forest areas, except “grand forest park” (Taman Hutan Raya) located in their respective administrative areas. The management of production forests and protected forests (located at state forest areas) is the authority and responsibility of the provincial government, while the management of conservation forests is the authority of the central government. The success of forest management and management program activities is determined, among others, by government and local government policies and their implementation at the site level. By considering ntthe complexity of forest management, the context of decentralization, and available resources as well as constrained authority, this study aims to identify the level of importance, priorities, and main roles of district governments in forest management by applying the analytic network process (ANP) method. This study suggests that the district government could play a significant role in building social capital, which serves as a first step in developing collaborative forest management by promoting the optimization of multipurpose forests to preserve forests.

Abstract

An industry in Islamic Economics is required to compete perfectly regardless of its market structure. How to ensure this rule being implemented in reality, however, has been neglected either in literatures or by industry supervisors. This paper is aimed at proposing a systematic procedure to test the industry compliance toward islamic competition rules. The advance of  theory and empirics of New Empirical Industrial Organization is used to formulate the procedure. There are two conditions to satisfy for an industry to have an islamic competition. The first and necessary condition is rejecting the Traditional Hypothesis which is based on collutive bahaviour of dominant banks. The second and sufficient condition is, the perfect competition is driven more by the intention of syariah compliance rather than due to the pressure of contestability.         Keywords: SCP Paradigm, Perfect Competition, Contestable Market, Traditional Hypothesis, New Empirical Industrial Organization, Islamic Competition, Structural Approach, Nonstructural Approach, Panzar and Rosse Model

Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth this decade has good development. Not only growing but also more stable than before the reform era which is visible from the persistence of Indonesia at the level of positive growth during the economic crisis of 2008. Growth was good was followed by a change in the proportion of manufacturing industry in Indonesia which, if seen followed by a decrease in the production of some subsector indices industry. Total factor productivity (TFP) is one measure to look at other factors apart from the impact on production inputs such as technical efficiency and technological growth. In this study, in addition to trying to calculate TFP in some manufacturing industries subsector, in this study also wants to see the value of technical efficiency and the growth of the technology is a component of TFP calculations by the method of Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). The results show that there is growing value of technical efficiency in some industries and most industries experienced relatively low growth of the technology. In the era before and after the crisis most of the industry has increased TFP growth but some industry decreased TFP growth. Keywords: SFA, Technical efficiency, Technological growth, TFP

Abstract

Until now, the development of the environmentally sound micro-scale dairy cattle business (USPSMWL) in the District of Sagalaherang and Ciater of the Subang Regency not fully reached the desired level yet. The growth of the dairy cow population of about 1% per year is still below the national growth of 1.29%; beside that, the environmental quality of some of the business of dairy cows (USP) is still not good yet. Results from the survey showed that most location of the cow shed was placed < 5 meters of residential houses. By the end of 2010, more than 80% dairy cow waste has not well managed, so it could be risk factors: air pollution, public health problem and odor. This study was intended to findstrategiesfor developing USPSMWL in Subang Regency. This study has used a method based on the analysis of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Respondents of this study were 6 experts,  drawn from banking sector, animal husbandry sector, Dairy Milk Cooperative of Northen Bandung (KPSBU), Cooperative sector, Regency Government, and Environment sector.Theresults show that  the “first priority actor” in the development USPSMWL in Subang Regency is “The Government of Regency, District, and Village ”; the “first priority factor” is “The readiness of the community”, the “first priority objective” is “The increasing community income”; and the “first priority strategy” is “The increasing readiness of the community/farmers to conduct the business of dairy farming (USP)”. Based on experts opinion in AHP, it can be concluded that the role of the Government of the Regency/District/Village in the development of USPSMWL in Subang Regency is the primary importance. The main strategy to be implemented is “to increase the community/farmers’ readiness to conduct dairy farming business (USP)”. It is matched with the real needs of communities in the location of the USP included  (a) the need for increased knowledge and positive attitude of “non-dairy farmers” and “dairy farmers” community; (b) the need for capital support or procurement of production means for dairy farming, and (c) the need for increased motivation of the people to develop USPSMWL.
