Abstract

This study intended to explore the effect of financial literacy, social media use, and pay-later promotion on online impulsive and compulsive buying among youth. Using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), 366 valid responses were analysed. Additionally, a moderation analysis using multigroup analysis (MGA) was conducted to determine if there are gender differences in these relationships. The finding revealed that of the three predictors of impulsive buying, only social media use had a positive and significant impact, while impulsive buying became a crucial determinant for compulsive buying. Interestingly, this study found that gender did not moderate the relationships outlined in the proposed model, indicating that the effects were similar for both males and females. This study suggests that youth should be wise in using social media, as it could lead to excessive purchasing that worsens the financial and psychological condition of both males and females.

Abstract

Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of MSMEs have an important role in the national economy, including increasing economic growth, supporting economic stabilization, improving public welfare, alleviating poverty, and reducing unemployment rates. However, in its development, MSMEs face many challenges, including capital problems and low access to financial service institutions. Meanwhile, financial inclusion is one of the government's efforts to provide greater access to MSME actors so that they can use financial products and services. This study aims to determine whether financial inclusion and socio-demographic factors can affect MSME performance. The research methods used are multiple regression analysis, interaction test, and ANOVA tests. The study results indicate that financial inclusion significantly positively impacts Micro and Small business Performance in the DKI Jakarta area. This study also shows that socio-demographic factors, especially gender, business age, and generation of MSME actors, significantly influence MSME performance in the DKI Jakarta area. On the other hand, this study provides information that the perception of the performance of MSESs using conventional financial service institutions has a higher value than that of MSESs using sharia financial service institutions. Meanwhile, the lowest perception of MSES performance is held by MSES actors who do not use financial service institutions.

Abstract

This research, conducted in Siak Regency, a key area of smallholder plantations in Riau Province, holds significant implications for the local agricultural community. The main objective of this study is to analyze the factors that influence production and the inefficiency of smallholder oil palm plantations, analyzed using the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) method with STATA 17 software. Data were collected through field surveys and direct interviews with 132 smallholder farmers in Empang Pandan and Keranji Guguh Koto Gasib District Riau. The SFA estimation results show that five input variables significantly affect smallholder plantation production: land area, K fertilizer, organic fertilizer, and labour, which positively correlate with the increase in Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) production. In contrast, N fertilizer showed a negative correlation. We also found that the dummy variables for plantation management patterns and agricultural extension or training significantly impacted the inefficiency of smallholder oil palm plantations in Riau Province. The alternatives of the interaction between input variables on smallholder plantation production reveal that five alternative interactions between input variables significantly affect the increase in smallholder plantation production by more than 5 per cent, including the interaction of land area >< plant age, plant age >< pesticide, plant age >< labour, N fertilizer >< P fertilizer, and organic >< pesticide interaction.

Abstract

Planning for sustainable development needs to be based on a region’s potential and suitable methods for determining appropriate policies. Therefore, this study aimed to identify key sectors and analyze the linkages of sectors and regions in Riau Island Province. The secondary data used were from Indonesia’s 2016 Input-Output (IO)/Inter-Regional Input-Output (IRIO) table compiled by the Central Bureau of Statistics. This table provides information on the potential of sectors and regional interdependence. The results showed that the key sectors were the Processing Industry, Electricity and Gas Procurement, Wholesale and Retail Trade, Accommodation and food services, as well as Information and Communication. The composition of exports and imports of the Riau Islands involved other regions, most of which were dominated by neighboring provinces. In addition, the economy in the Riau Islands was influenced by final demand shocks from different provinces, namely Riau, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Lampung, which are still in the Sumatra islands. This showed how location closeness affected the local economy. The lack of connectivity between the islands suggested a need for government initiatives to enhance transportation accessibility. In addition, the archipelago's maritime capabilities are crucial for industrial potential, but environmental impact needs to be considered for its sustainability.Received: 2025-02-18 Revised: 2025-12-17 Accepted: 2026-03-12 Published: 2026-04-29

Abstract

This study reviews how deposit insurance interacts with the operations, behavior, and stability of microfinance institutions (MFIs). Methods: A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using PRISMA-guided screening. Searches were run in five academic databases (Google Scholar, Web of Science, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis Online, and ScienceDirect) using the string “deposit insurance” AND “microfinance,” producing 625 records. After removing duplicates and applying title/abstract and full-text screening, three studies met the final inclusion criteria and were synthesized. Results: The evidence shows three main patterns: (1) deposit guarantees can increase moral hazard in MFIs with weak governance (as seen in Indonesia’s rural banks), (2) depositor trust, often shaped by perceived safety, can reduce deposit volatility and panic withdrawals (as shown in Gabon), and (3) deposit insurance may shift higher-risk borrowers away from insured banks toward MFIs, changing where risk concentrates in the financial system. Implications: Deposit insurance policy should consider MFIs, not only commercial banks. If protection is extended to MFIs (fully or partly), it should be paired with stronger governance requirements, better supervision, and risk-based pricing to reduce moral hazard while supporting depositor confidence and financial inclusion

Abstract

Background: The demand for PGA surgical suture is increasing, which was recorded from 2017-2019, reaching 148 million in the world and 1.2 million in Indonesia. This is in line with the increase in surgery. Currently, many foreign medical device products are supplied from imports, reaching 70%, and have high prices. PT XYZ is one of the medical device distributor companies that collaborates with companies in the European region as suppliers. The company often experiences problems in procuring product inventory because it depends on one supplier, which affects supply chain performance and creates various risks in its business processes.Purpose: This research focused on risk mitigation at PT XYZ.Design/methodology/approach: The HOR analysis and fishbone method.Findings/Result: Based on the HOR analysis and fishbone method, 3 priority sources of risk that must be mitigated are supplier errors, fluctuating demand, and limited storage space. Furthermore, the mitigation that must be done is to encourage suppliers to build factories in Indonesia, provide quarterly order forecasting, and hold regular meetings for evaluation and strategy making. Abstract

Background: The rise of digital technology has driven the growth of financial services like Paylater, enabling instant purchases with deferred payments. This has shifted financial habits, especially among Generation Z, who are more vulnerable to risky credit behavior. Therefore, understanding factors such as financial literacy and financial self-efficacy is essential to encourage responsible credit use.Purpose: The research focuses on analyzing the influence of financial literacy and financial self-efficacy on risky credit behavior among Generation Z in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: The study employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing a survey method to collect primary data from 141 Generation Z respondents in Indonesia who use online consumer credit services. The questionnaire assesses financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and risky credit behavior. The collected data is analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to evaluate the relationships between financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and risky credit behavior. Findings/Results: The study reveals that financial literacy significantly affects risky credit behavior. Furthermore, financial self-efficacy serves as a mediating variable, strengthening the influence of financial literacy on responsible credit management. Specifically, the results indicate that higher financial literacy leads to improved financial self-efficacy, and increased financial literacy reduces risky credit behavior. Financial self-efficacy directly decreases risky credit behavior, and financial self-efficacy successfully moderates the relationship between financial literacy and risky credit behavior, reinforcing responsible credit decisions. These findings highlight the importance of both financial knowledge and confidence in reducing credit risks among Generation Z consumers. Conclusion: This study confirms that financial literacy and financial self-efficacy play critical roles in shaping the credit behavior of Generation Z. Financial literacy equips individuals with the necessary knowledge to manage their finances effectively, while financial self-efficacy enhances their confidence in making informed financial decisions.Originality/value (State of the art): This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on financial behavior by examining the interplay between financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and risky credit behavior within the context of Generation Z's engagement with online consumer credit. Unlike previous studies that primarily focus on financial literacy alone, this study highlights the mediating role of financial self-efficacy, providing a more comprehensive understanding of how financial knowledge translates into behavior. The findings offer valuable insights for financial service providers, educators, and policymakers in designing interventions aimed at fostering financial responsibility among young consumers. Abstract

Background: Cash waqf and waqf through money is an unfamiliar concept in donation activities in Indonesia. Cash waqf possesses a sustainable nature, as the endowed assets are preserved and managed to generate ongoing benefits across generations. This sustainability is ensured by the obligation of the nazhir to safeguard the waqf assets from loss or damage, thereby maintaining their long-term impact. Purposes: This research aims to explore public interest and intention in cash waqf and analyze the factors influencing the community's interest and intention toward cash waqf. Design/methodology/approach: The statistical method employed is descriptive analysis and structural equation modeling with partial least squares (SEM-PLS), using tool Smart PLS version 4 with 70 respondents. The respondent category in this study is muslim or Muslimah, has ever performed monetary waqf, and is at least 17 years old.Findings/Result: The analysis reveals that the respondent living or working in Jakarta prioritizes engaging in waqf through money, followed by cash waqf. Statistical test results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habit, and waqf literacy all have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention. Conclusion: The results of the descriptive analysis show that respondents living or working in Jakarta are more interested in donating waqf through money compared to cash waqf. The waqf literacy index is 72.81% (moderate), the basic understanding of waqf is 47.83%, and the advanced understanding of waqf is 24.98%. The statistical test results indicate that performance expectations, effort expectations, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habits, and waqf literacy all have a positive and significant impact on behavioral intention.Originality/value (State of the art): The state of the art in this study is the use of the UTAUT2 variable, which has been cited more than 6,000 times on Google Scholar and has never been previously used to analyze the impact of technology adoption in cash waqf collection through Berkahwakaf.id. Abstract

This research aims to actuate the determinants of the capital structure of the state and non-state-owned construction industries during the infrastructure policy and the Covid-19 pandemic periods. Secondary data were collected quarterly from 2013 to 2020 from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing budget using a dynamic panel data with the Generalized Method of Moments. It was found that speed of adjustment, profitability, tangibility, activity, and infrastructure policies affect the capital structure of state-owned construction companies. Meanwhile, speed of adjustment, profitability, tangibility, and exchange rate affect non-state-owned construction companies. The result showed that state-owned and non-state-owned construction companies have a gap of 27.3% and 17.7% %, respectively. Furthermore, both companies have speed adjustment values of 1.38 period and 1.21 period. This means that non-state-owned construction companies' adjustment speed is faster than their state-owned counterpart. Therefore, the decision-making of debt construction companies needs to consider the financial characteristics and ownership of the company.
