Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the role of rice’s price in household consumption patterns in Indonesia. The method used was the Quadratic Almost Ideal Demand System (QUAIDS). The data used were obtained from the National Social Economy Survey in 2016. The results show that when the price of rice increases by one percent, the demand for other carbohydrates, eggs-milk-beans, fruits also Cigarette and processed foods will be increase. Meanwhile, in other groups, when the price of rice rises, the demand will go down. Thus, it can be concluded that households still prioritize rice consumption in their daily consumption patterns compared to other commodity groups. Therefore, the government should develop policies that encourage people to consume more diverse food groups.

Abstract

The brand equity is created not only by some dimensions of brand equity such as brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, and brand loyalty but also created by marketing activities called antecedents of brand equity. This research used brand equity dimensions as variables. The aim of this research was to analyze consumer’s perceive toward brand equity of ice cream (IM Meiji). The data was collected from 150 respondents in Bogor. The data analysis technique was the multicolinearity measurement with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) assisted by a computer application LISREL (Linear Structural Relationship) 8.3 version. The output analysis of SEM indicated that the structural model could be accepted (close-fit) based on empirical facts. The structural model indicated that the brand equity of ice cream products (IM Meiji) was created by brand association (compound with brand awareness), brand loyalty, and perceived quality. Brand loyalty with significant positive correlation toward brand equity had the biggest contribution, while the perceived quality had the lowest contribution with negative correlation toward brand equity. The estimation of parameter also showed that advertisement and distribution intensity had significant positive correlation towards brand equity, but price had negative correlation.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to examine the factors of product atribute that affecting consumers in purchase decision making of growth formula for their toddlers. The study was conducted in Jakarta during December 2013 until Februari 2014 and involved 140 respondents of growth formula consumers. Data were analyzed by using logistic regression test. The results indicated that the main factors that influenced the consumers in purchase decision making of growth formula for their toddlers were compositional and nutritional value, suitability of milk that consume by their toddler, and product safety. Marketing strategy which can do by producer is educating consumer about the important composition and nutritional value contained in growth formula, reformulating ingredient contained in growth formula so that resulting a positive effect for a toddler who consume it, following requirement and licensing Ministry of Health and The National Agency of Drugs and Food Control (BPOM) to ensure that products which are available in market are the safe products.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of marketing mix in individual life insurance purchasing decision, as well as the marketing mix variables of the most dominant influence on the purchase decision. The results of this study can be used as a recommendation to life insurance companies in conducting marketing activities in accordance with the market needs. The study was conducted in Bogor City that had an increasing population growth in every year, was made it a good market for life insurance companies. Data for this study were obtained from 200 respondents who live in Bogor and had basic knowledge about insurance. Samples were selected based on the nonprobability sampling, with convenience sampling technique. The variable measured by even marketing mix such as price, product, person, process, promotion, physical evidence, and place. Processing and analysis of data used descriptive analysis and logistic regression analysis. This results showed that there were at least five marketing mix that had an influence on the life insurance purchase decision, and the product mix was the most influential variable on the life insurance purchase decision.

Abstract

Indonesia's pepper growth rate tends to decrease compared to the growth rate of world pepper demand. This is due to the decline in production in Indonesia in recent years. This has an impact on the amount offered by Indonesia to meet the needs of the world. Indonesia's inability to compete with other countries makes Indonesia's position in taking on the growth of the world's hopes can be used by other countries. This situation can change Indonesia's position and competitiveness in trade on the international market. This study aims to analyze the level of competition between countries by using Revealed Comparative Auntungan (RCA and Dynamics Revealed Comparative Advantage (DRCA). The results of the study show that during the 2011-2013 period the highest increase in competitiveness between countries during the other period was an increase Significant exports to the countries of Brazil, India and Pakistan which increased on the value of RCA. Delaying in the 2011-2013 and 2014-2016 periods was related to increasing countries increasing exports such as Indonesia, Brazil and India. Position of Indonesia in 2016 Enlarging free markets greater than the results of world exports, Indonesia must increase the country's competitiveness.

Abstract

Perkembangan agribisnis anggrek nasional masih rendah, salah satunya disebabkan kurangnya kompetensi yang dimiliki petani anggrek. Peningkatan perilaku kewirausahaan diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kinerja usaha komoditas anggrek di Indonesia. Penelitian perilaku kewirausahaan petani anggrek dilakukan dengan tujuan menganalisis pengaruh faktor internal dan eksternal terhadap perilaku kewirausahaan petani anggrek dan menganalisis pengaruh perilaku kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja usaha anggrek. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di wilayah Gunung Sindur, Parung, dan Serpong, dengan pertimbangan lokasi tersebut merupakan sebagian besar sentra anggrek di Indonesia. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 115 orang. Data terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode SEM menggunakan program Lisrel 8.3. Hasil pengujian dengan SEM menunjukkan faktor internal, yaitu peningkatan skala usaha, intensi berwirausahatani, motivasi berprestasi dan persepsi terhadap usaha yang tinggi, dan dapat meningkatkan perilaku kewirausahaan. Faktor eksternal yang terdiri atas bahan input, penyuluhan, bantuan modal, promosi, regulasi, kekompakan di antara petani anggrek, dan akses informasi secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif. Perilaku kewirausahaan secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja usaha, artinya bahwa ketekunan, ketanggapan terhadap peluang usaha, inovatif, keberanian mengambil risiko dan kemandirian dalam menjalankan usahatani anggrek berperan penting dalam peningkatan kinerja usaha. Dengan demikian, untuk meningkatkan perilaku kewirausahaan petani anggrek, pemerintah perlu memberikan dukungan berupa fasilitas yang sesuai dengan apa yang dibutuhkan oleh petani, seperti pelatihan untuk perbanyakan dengan kultur jaringan, teknologi untuk mempersingkat masa pemeliharaan, pembangunan pasar untuk memperpendek rantai pasar, dan penyediaan benih berkualitas sesuai dengan preferensi pasar.KeywordsPerilaku kewirausahaan; Kinerja usaha; Petani anggrek; Structural equation models (SEM)AbstractThe performance of Indonesian orchid industry is still low due to the lack of farmers competencies. The improvement of entrepreneurial behavior of orchid farmers could hopely increase the orchid bussiness performance. The study of farmers entrepreneurial behaviour was conducted to analyse the influence of internal and external factors on entrepreneurial behavior, and to analyse the influence of entrepreneurial behavior on bussiness performance. This research used 115 data of orchid farmers. The data were analized by SEM using Lisrel 8.3 programs. The results of testing with SEM showed that internal factors, including increasing the scale of business, entrepreneurial intentions, achievement motivation and high perceptions of business, can enhance entrepreneurial behavior. External factors, which consist of input material, counseling, capital assistance, promotion, regulation, compactness among orchid growers, and access to information have a significant negative effect. Entrepreneurial behavior has a significant and positive effect on business performance, meaning that perseverance, responsiveness to business opportunities, innovation, courage to take risks and independence in running orchid farming play an important role in improving business performance. To improve the entrepreneurial behavior of orchid farmers the government needs to provide support in facilities that are in accordance with farmers need, such as training for propagation by tissue culture, technology to shorten the maintenance period, market development to shorten the marketing chain, and provision of quality seeds according with consumer preferences.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Impact of the Program SLPTT on the Paddy Farm Business Income in Telagasari District, Karawang RegencyOver the past five years, rice consumption level of Indonesian population is still relatively high, at an average of 136.268 kg per capita per year. Although rice production in Indonesia has increased, government still imports to meet domestic demand. One of government's efforts to solve the problem is by implementing the Field School of Integrated Crop Management (SLPTT). The purposes of this research are to describe the activity of technology on rice farming, to evaluate the implementation of SLPTT and non-SLPTT program, and to analyze the income of rice farm business from SLPTT and non-SLPTT program in Kalibuaya Village. The study was conducted with direct observation and interview to the rice farmers in Kalibuaya Village as respondents selected by cluster sampling and purposive sampling method. The differences of the technology components used in the rice farming activities were detected between farmers of the SLPTT and non-SLPTT program. Rice farm business of the SLPTT program wass more efficient than non-SLPTT program with ratios of R/C on total cost were 1.88 and 1.79, respectively.Keywords: Rice production, Rice farming activities, R/ C, SLPTTABSTRAKSelama lima tahun terakhir, tingkat konsumsi beras penduduk Indonesia masih tergolong tinggi yaitu rata-rata 136,268 kg per kapita per tahun. Meskipun saat ini produksi beras di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan, akan tetapi sampai saat ini pemerintah masih melakukan impor untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dalam negeri. Salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk mengatasi masalah ini yaitu dengan menerapkan program Sekolah Lapang Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (SLPTT). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan keragaan teknologi usahatani, mengevaluasi penerapan komponen teknologi program SLPTT dan non program SLPTT, menganalisis pendapatan usahatani padi program SLPTT dan non program SLPTT. Penelitian dilakukan dengan observasi langsung dan wawancara kepada petani sebagai responden di Desa Kalibuaya melalui metode cluster sampling dan purposive sampling, Terdapat beberapa perbedaan penggunaan komponen teknologi antara petani program SLPTT dan non SLPTT ketika melakukan kegiatan usahatani padi. Usahatani padi program SLPTT lebih efisien dibandingkan dengan non program SLPTT dengan rasio R/C atas biaya total masing-masing sebesar 1,88 and 1,79.Kata Kunci: Produksi padi, Activitas usahatani padi, R/C, SLPTT

Abstract

Income and Marketing Analyze for Organic Rice with System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Methode (a Case Study at Sukagalih Village, Sukaratu Sub-district, Tasikmalaya Regency. This research was aimed to analyze income and marketing of rice farming organic in Sukagalih Village, Sukaratu Sub Distric, Tasikmalaya. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were used as analytical methods. Qualitative analysis was done to discuss the structure and marketing chanel. Quantitative analyses were consists of farming profitability and R/C. Results of this research indicated that R/C to total costs of farming using System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method were higer than that of conventional rice farming, and R/C of farming operated by land owners were higer than that of tennant farmers. Result of marketing channels and market structure analyses showed that the marketing channel 4 (farmer, PPTD, PBLD, retailer and consumer) was the one that were more practiced compare to the other channels. Key words: Income analysis, marketing chanel, rice farming organic, SRI method.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapatan usahatani dan pemasaran padi organik di Desa Sukagalih, Kecamatan Sukaratu, Tasikmalaya. Pengolahan dan analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif Analisis kualitatif dilakukan untuk mengetahui struktur pasar dan saluran pemasaran padi organik metode System of Rice Intensification (SRI). Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis pendapatan usahatani dan analisis R/C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis R/C atas biaya total pada usahatani padi organik memiliki rasio lebih besar dibandingkan dengan R/C pada usahatani konvensional, dan R/C usahatani padi yang dilaksanakan petani pemilik penggarap lebih besar dibandingkan dengan rasio tersebut bagi petani penyakap. Berdasarkan analisis saluran dan struktur pasar, dapat disimpulkan bahwa saluran IV (Petani, Pedagang Pengumpul Tingkat Daerah, Pedagang Besar Luar Daerah, Pedagang Pengecer dan konsumen) merupakan saluran pemasaran yang paling banyak dilakukan dibandingkan saluran pemasaran yang lainnya. Abstract

Abstrak. Rendahnya produktivitas kopi merupakan salah satu permasalahan utama dalam sistem produksi kopi Indonesia. Hal ini diantaranya disebabkan tidak adanya perawatan kopi yang optimal dengan memperhatikan fase fenologi kopi, serta dampak variabilitas dan perubahan iklim. Berbagai teknologi adaptasi kopi sudah banyak dihasilkan namun langkah adaptasi dengan memanfaatkan prakiraan iklim dalam bentuk penyesuian kegiatan budidaya dengan fase fenologi atau disebut sebagai kalender budidaya belum dikembangkan. Tulisan ini memaparkan tentang dampak variabilitas dan perubahan iklim pada tanaman kopi, teknologi adaptasi kopi yang sudah tersedia, perlunya pengembangan kalender budidaya kopi sebagai bentuk strategi adaptasi dan peningkatan produktivitas serta potensi dan tantangan pengembangan kalender budidaya kopi di Indonesia. Hasil review ini menunjukkan kalender budidaya kopi berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai strategi peningkatan produktivitas serta adaptasi terhadap variabilitas dan perubahan iklim. Abstract. Low productivity is one of the main challenges in Indonesia's coffee production system .It is low due to cultivation management; most of the coffee farmer does not manage their plantation base on the coffee phenology phase.  Moreover climate variability and change also have important effect on coffee productivity. Various technologies on adaptation and measurement to climate change and variability have been identified. Unfortunately, the technology which use climate forecast through adjusting cultivation activity and coffee phenology called as cultivation calendar do not exist yet. This paper provides an overview on the impact of climate variability and change to coffee production, the existing adaptation strategy, and the importance of cultivation calendar as a strategy for adapting and increasing productivity, and the potential and challenges to develop cultivation calendar in Indonesia. This review reveals that coffee cultivation calendar is a potential strategy for increaseing productivity and adapting climate change and variability.

Abstract

Tujuandaripenelitianiniadalahmenganalisis permintaan dan penawaran daging sapi di Indonesia serta melakukan simulasi peramalan terhadap permintaan dan produksi daging sapi di Indonesia yang terkaitdengan program swasembada daging. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder deret waktu dari 1996–2013. Analisis data dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap: 1) dengan pendekatan ekonometrika menggunakan metode 2SLS, 2) dengan analisis elastisitas dan 3) dengan analisis simulasi peramalan. Hasilpenelitian menunjukan bahwapermintaan daging sapi responsif terhadap populasi penduduk. Sedangkan pada sisi penawaran yang diwakili oleh produksi menunjukan bahwa harga daging sapi domestik, harga daging impor dan kebijakan swasembada berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi daging sapi. Hasil peramalan menunjukkan bahwa ketergantungan Indonesia terhadap daging sapi impor akan meningkat, kebutuhan konsumsi dalam negeri akan terus dipasok oleh daging impor.
