Abstract

Pesantren is an institution that contributes to the scholarship of Islam as well as religious societies. It will be a place of learning the science of religion, cultivation of faith and fear of God, character and morality so that it will become a leader and a Muslim scientist that will benefit the society in the future. Islamic education has grown and undergone an exciting shift from the 17th to the 21st century. This shift is part of Kyai's innovative teaching approach that is central to the training, the student's qualitative understanding, not just the cognitive aspects taught in the classroom, and the priority given to the ethical and spiritual aspects of the training. The trainer has to adapt according to the needs and challenges of the moment and of course the presence of the Kyai figure is important in this training. One of today's national challenges is that training plays an important role in promoting moderate Islamic values that tolerate and accept differences. The growth of practitioners as Islamic institutions becomes an opportunity to spread the understanding of moderate Islam, a sustainable life that protects us from chaos. Such development is part of an adaptation to the evolution of the times and to preserve its existence and contribution to the scholarship of Islam. With regard to the diversity of such development, there is a need for a literature review to map the development of the architecture of the country as a fragment of the existing literature.

Abstract

The conversion of land to dry land promotes the use of local rice varieties capable of withstanding drought conditions, thus contributing to the development of sustainable agricultural practices. The anthocyanin content of pigmented rice may confer a greater resilience to cell damage caused by drought conditions than white rice. This study aims to evaluate the vegetative characteristics of local pigmented rice at varying soil water content levels. The study was conducted from June to August 2024 at the Agricultural Laboratory of Sebelas Maret University. Eight rice varieties were utilized, including two control rice varieties, two local white rice varieties, and four local pigmented rice varieties. The experimental design was a completely randomized block design split plot with three blocks and two factorials: eight rice varieties and four levels of soil water content. Data analysis was conducted using the ANOVA, Duncan, and regression tests. The findings indicated that Hitam Cempo and Merah Wangi exhibited optimal growth at a lower soil water content of field capacity (25% FC) than white rice and IR64 control. Hitam Mutiara and Merah Wangi exhibited optimal responses at 75% and 50% FC, respectively, compared to the white rice and IR64 control varieties. Leaf rolling scores increased in black and red rice as soil water content decreased compared to white rice. The research findings indicate that, based on the vegetative characteristics of local pigmented rice, it has the potential to be more drought tolerant than white rice. Further research on testing physiological and biochemical resistance traits is needed to support the development of rice types that can be planted in dry land.

Abstract

Salinity, prevalent abiotic stress, has substantially restricted soybean production worldwide. This intricate environmental factor disrupts various physiological and biochemistry processes in soybean plants and ultimately diminishes yields. This experiment was conducted to report the damaging effect of sodium chloride (NaCl) given to the soil through watering at different levels (0, 50, and 100 mM NaCl) and to explore the impact of foliar spraying ascorbic acid to reduce the adverse effects of salinity at different levels (0, 400, 600, and 800 ppm). This study showed that the impact of salinity level significantly reduced gas exchange parameters, number of stomata, content of AsA, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight. The salinity also caused an increase in electrolyte leakage. Foliar application of ascorbic acid alleviated salinity-induced plant stress by increasing the number of stomata and root dry weight.

Abstract

Zinc is an essential micronutrient for the survival of plants. Rice cultivation in Indonesia is primarily conducted on submerged soil, resulting in low zinc availability in rice plants. Applying zinc fertilizer is a method to augment plant nutrients, consequently enhancing rice yield. This study aimed to analyze and determine the best ZnSO4 fertilization dose for yield and zinc concentration in Ciherang, Rojolele and Mentik Wangi rice varieties. This study was conducted in the experimental garden of Sebelas Maret University from August 2023 to January 2024. The study was conducted using a 3x5 factorial Randomized Complete Block Design. The first factor was rice varieties consisting of Ciherang, Rojolele, and Mentik Wangi. The second factor was ZnSO4 fertilization consisting of doses of 0 kg.ha-1, 12 kg.ha-1, 16 kg.ha-1, 20 kg.ha-1, and 24 kg.ha-1. Statistical analysis in this study used ANOVA with a significance level of 5% and DMRT with a significance level of 5%. Zinc sulfate heptahydrate (ZnSO4) foliar application significantly differs in rice's zinc concentration. Mentik wangi rice variety (V3) was given dose 4 (D4) (24 kg.ha-1) is the best combination to increase the zinc concentration in rice by 40.01 ppm compared to no zinc fertilization treatment.

Abstract

Stress in diabetic patients creates a serious issue with disease severity. Stress can significantly impact an individual's physical, psychological, intellectual, social, and spiritual. In addition, stress becomes a threat to the physiological imbalance. By considering the magnitude consequences of stress on diabetic patients, it is necessary to find a way to manage stress. The research aimed to determine the relationship between spirituality and stress levels in diabetic patients. The correlational design was used and conducted at the Dinoyo Public Health Center using an accidental sampling technique. The number of respondents in this study was 150 diabetic patients, and the sample of the study was calculated using the G*Power application. The questionnaires used to collect data were Multidimensional Measure of Religiousness/Spirituality and Perceived Stress Scale-10. The data was statistically tested using Spearman Rho. The results showed a p-value or significant value (0.000) less than α (0.05), which means there was a relationship between spirituality and stress levels in diabetic patients. In conclusion, the diabetes patients showed a high level of spirituality within low-stress levels on average.
