Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dependent variable of perceptions about HIV/AIDS, influenced by the independent variables of age, gender, residence, education level, internet usage, social media usage, knowledge level, and stigma towards individuals in the community. The bivariate analysis showed that five variables significantly influenced social media usage, including place of residence with a p-value of 0.000*, education level with a p-value of 0.000*, internet use with a p-value of 0.000*, knowledge level with a p-value of 0.000*, and stigma with a p-value of 0.001*. The multivariate analysis revealed the variables influencing social media usage as follows: type of residence (Exp(B)=1.189; 95% CI=1.028-1.376; Sig=0.020*), education level (Exp(B)=4.304; 95% CI=3.819-4.852; Sig=0.000*), internet usage (Exp(B)=4.178; 95% CI=3.875-4.504; Sig=0.000*), knowledge level (Exp(B)=392.480; 95% CI=0.000-0; Sig=0.000*), and stigma (Exp(B)=0.023; 95% CI=0.894-0.978; Sig=0.000*). Adolescents in Indonesia are still vulnerable to misinformation and stigma from social media, influenced by various factors. However, the Chi-Square and logistic regression analyses showed that place of residence, education level, internet use, knowledge level, and stigma are the most significant factors. The hope is that researchers can further explore issues in adolescents' perceptions caused by social media use, beyond just misinformation and stigma. This aims to diversify the variables from the DHS data to reduce the risk of bias in comparison to previous research.

Abstract

Background: Mentik Wangi, a traditional aromatic rice variety, faces challenges such as prolonged growth duration and lodging susceptibility, limiting its productivity. The study aimed to evaluate the yield potential and identify high-performing mutant lines of Mentik Wangi rice induced by 200 Gy gamma irradiation. This study addresses the growing need for rice varieties with improved traits to enhance food security in Indonesia. Methods: The research was conducted at the Tegalgondo Rice Seed Garden using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The study included 12 M6 mutant lines of Mentik Wangi rice generated through 200 Gy gamma irradiation. Data were collected on plant growth, yield attributes, and grain quality. Statistical analyses were performed using ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test to evaluate the significance of observed traits. Findings: The results revealed significant variations among mutant lines for key yield components, including grains per panicle, 100-grain weight, and productivity per hectare. The line M6-MW2-G70-01-14-4-8 demonstrated the highest productivity at 7.29 tons/ha, while all mutant lines exceeded the productivity of the control (3.78 tons/ha). Gamma irradiation was effective in inducing beneficial mutations, enhancing traits such as early maturity, short stems, and higher grain density. Conclusion: The study successfully identified mutant lines of Mentik Wangi rice with improved yield potential and agronomic traits, demonstrating the effectiveness of gamma irradiation as a crop improvement strategy. Novelty/Originality of this article: This research presents innovative findings on the use of gamma irradiation to enhance the productivity and agronomic traits of a traditional rice variety, contributing to the development of high-yielding and locally adapted rice lines.

Abstract

This study examines the economic impact of fintech adaptation on sustainability performance in the Indonesian banking sector, with green finance and green innovation as mediating variables. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing secondary data from six Indonesian banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023. Path analysis was applied to evaluate to assess relationships among fintech adaptation, green finance, green innovation, and sustainability performance. The findings reveal that fintech adaptation significantly influences green finance but has a limited impact on green innovation and direct sustainability performance. Additionally, green finance and green innovation do not significantly mediate the relationship between fintech adaptation and sustainability performance. These results highlight the challenges of integrating fintech into sustainable banking initiatives in emerging markets. The study underscores the need for enhanced regulatory frameworks, strategic fintech adoption, and increased collaboration among financial institutions to drive sustainability efforts. Future research should explore additional factors influencing sustainability performance in banking.

Abstract

This study analyzed the differences in levels of knowledge and attitudes towards HIV/AIDS between adolescent boys and girls and encouraged them towards more targeted interventions. Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through a survey of 300 respondents aged 15–19 years in urban and rural areas. The results show that adolescent girls tend to have a higher level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS transmission and prevention compared to adolescent boys. However, positive attitudes towards people with HIV/AIDS are higher in adolescent boys. Factors such as access to information, parental education, and peer influence play a significant role in shaping knowledge and attitudes. Based on these findings, the intended intervention needs to consider gender differences to improve the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS prevention programs. Programs for adolescent boys can be focused on improving basic knowledge, while programs for adolescent girls require the stress of the importance of empathy and stigma reduction.

Abstract

Stunting is a problem that being intensively addressed by the government and priority program at Puskesmas Sekaran which is the background for this Community Service activity. The existence of stunting cases in Gunungpati is caused by various factors, such as unprepared pregnancies, low birth weight babies, and low levels of exclusive breastfeeding. The aim of this activity is to increase young parents' knowledge about stunting, parenting, healthy homes and child nutrition so that it can help reduce stunting cases. This is due to several causal factors based on insufficient knowledge. Therefore, the method used is psychoeducation. The result of this service is an increase in the knowledge of young parents in the Gunungpati area as seen from the significant difference in results on the pre-test and post-test. The advice that can be given is that it would be better if this service program was carried out long term and sustainably. Apart from that, the target of activities should be expanded so that they can provide education not only to young parents, but also to the surrounding community so that they can participate in reducing stunting rates.
