Abstract

Empowering Early Childhood Resilience: Development of Illustrated Storybooks for Disaster Mitigation with Local Wisdom. Objective: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an illustrated storybook based on Tunjuk Ajar Melayu Riau as an innovative learning medium to enhance disaster preparedness in early childhood.  Methods: The research adopted the Borg & Gall Research and Development (R&D) model. Study participants included 60 children aged 5-6 years across three PAUD sites in the Riau region, Indonesia. The intervention was conducted over two weeks with a total of six sessions. Effectiveness was assessed using the Disaster Preparedness Scale for Early Childhood (DPSEC) (12 items, α=0.87) through pre-test and post-test. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Paired-Sample T-test, Normalized Gain (N-Gain), and Cohen’s d Effect Size, complemented by qualitative thematic analysis of interviews. Findings: The book offers novelty by combining local cultural values with interactive features, such as a maze game, specifically designed to foster critical thinking and environmental awareness, addressing the current limitation of passive disaster education media in Indonesia. The effectiveness test results showed a highly significant increase in disaster preparedness scores, soaring from a pre-test mean of 55% to a post-test mean of 90% (t(59)=14.82, p<0.001). The impact was classified as high, with an average N-Gain of 0.71 and a strong Effect Size (d=1.92). Qualitatively, the Cultural Resonance of the Malay characters significantly boosted engagement, while the Maze Game mechanistically stimulated planning and critical thinking. Teachers rated the product as highly practical with an average score of 88%, confirming its feasibility and curricular alignment. Conclusion: The illustrated storybook based on Tunjuk Ajar Melayu Riau is an effective, feasible, and practical learning model for enhancing early childhood disaster preparedness. Its success is driven by the synergy between the maze's cognitive scaffolding and the contextual reinforcement of local wisdom, offering a vital model for culturally-based disaster mitigation education in Indonesia. However, generalization is currently limited to the Riau context. Keywords: cultural identity; disaster mitigation; early childhood education; tunjuk ajar melayu.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic relevance of Islamic Wasathiyah (Moderation) Character Education and to identify the substantive challenges of its implementation in confronting information disruption within the Society 5.0 Era. The Society 5.0 concept, which demands a human-centered society, necessitates a strong ethical and moral foundation. This study employs a qualitative methodologi  utilizing a Systematic Literature Review  , collecting and synthesizing data from recent scholarly journals. The findings reveal that the relevance of Wasathiyah is highly functional, where its main pillars act as digital ethical regulators. The principle of Tawazun (balance) ensures that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is directed toward the common good, not dehumanization. Meanwhile, I'tidal (justice) and Tasamuh (tolerance) serve as the foundation for critical literacy and Tabayyun (verification) to counteract extremist narratives and digital disinformation. However, the implementation of Wasathiyah faces dual challenges: 1) Ideological Challenges in the form of narrative competition with extremism in the cyberspace; and 2) Methodological-Technical Challenges caused by the digital competence gap among educators and the digital divide which exacerbates inequality in character education access. The study concludes by emphasizing the urgency of curriculum transformation and enhancing educator competence to ensure Wasathiyah moves beyond a theoretical value to become an effective digital soft skill in guiding the Society 5.0 generation.

Abstract

Anemia remains a significant public health problem among adolescent girls, primarily due to increased iron requirements during growth and blood loss during menstruation. Anemia can lead to decreased learning concentration, reduced physical fitness, lower academic achievement, and an increased risk of health problems during future pregnancies. This study aimed to assess the effect of anemia education on the knowledge level of tenth-grade adolescent girls at SMAN Tuah Gemilang, involving 37 participants who met the inclusion criteria. The study employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The level of understanding among participants was categorized into three groups: poor, moderate, and good. The results showed an improvement in knowledge after the educational intervention, with 5.4% categorized as poor, 40.5% as moderate, and 54.1% as good. Bivariate analysis using the Paired Samples t-test indicated a significant difference in knowledge levels before and after the intervention (p<0.001), with the mean score increasing from 62.8 in the pre-test to 77.2 in the post-test. These findings suggest that health education through counseling is an effective educational strategy to improve adolescent girls’ understanding of anemia, its risk factors, impacts, and prevention strategies.

Abstract

The cell cycle is a fundamental biological process that regulates growth, DNA replication, and cell division in a coordinated manner. Cell cycle regulation plays a crucial role in maintaining tissue homeostasis, genome stability, and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Disruptions in cell cycle regulatory mechanisms are known to contribute to various diseases, particularly cancer, through the loss of checkpoint control and excessive activation of proliferation pathways. Therefore, studying cell cycle regulatory mechanisms is crucial to strengthen biological understanding and its clinical implications in the development of molecularly targeted therapies. This study employed a literature review method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were obtained from international scientific articles published in reputable databases and analyzed qualitatively to examine the molecular mechanisms of cell cycle regulation, the role of cyclin-CDK complexes, checkpoint systems, CDK inhibitors, and their association with physiological and pathological conditions. The results indicate that cell cycle regulation is primarily controlled by the activity of cyclin-CDK complexes, which operate in a phase-specific and coordinated manner. Checkpoint systems at the G1/S, G2/M transitions, and spindle assembly function as surveillance mechanisms to ensure accurate DNA replication and chromosome division. Regulatory pathways such as Rb-E2F and p53 play a crucial role in arresting the cell cycle upon DNA damage or cellular stress. Furthermore, it has been discovered that the ubiquitin-proteasome-based protein degradation system also plays a role in regulating the stability of cell cycle regulators, thus refining the classical regulatory model that previously focused solely on cyclin-CDK activation. Cell cycle regulation is a highly controlled, dynamic, and integrated biological process, with cyclin-CDK complexes and checkpoint systems playing a central role in determining the continuation of cell proliferation. A comprehensive understanding of these regulatory mechanisms provides a crucial contribution to the development of therapeutic strategies, particularly in the treatment of cancer and other proliferative disorders, through approaches based on cell cycle pathway control.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic role and challenges of Human Resource Development (HRD) in organizations, particularly in facing digital transformation and the dynamics of the modern work environment. The research method used was a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which analyzed various national and international scientific literature for the 2020–2025 period through a process of selection, data reduction, thematic grouping, and data synthesis and interpretation. The results indicate that HRD plays a crucial role as a manager, developer, and driver of human resource quality through recruitment, training, competency development, increasing employee engagement, and establishing an adaptive and performance-oriented work culture. Furthermore, HRD also plays a role in integrating digital technology to improve the effectiveness of HR management. However, HR faces various challenges such as accelerated technological change, a skills gap, changes in digital and automated work methods, and the emergence of non-standard work models that raise ethical and regulatory issues. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that HRD must strategically transform by strengthening digital competencies, building flexible HR management systems, and integrating technological innovation to maintain the long-term sustainability of organizational performance.   Keywords: Human Resource Development, Digital Transformation, Employee Performance
