Abstract

Bio-batteries are one alternative as well as a solution to the limited use of electrical energy. Batteries that are widely used today are sourced from chemicals in the form of heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, and nickel, which can pollute the environment if not disposed of properly. Efforts to reduce the use of chemicals that pollute the environment need innovation to overcome the problem. This study aims to determine the formula for bio-batteries that have a long life. The method used is to mix banana peel and breadfruit peel that has been fermented with variations of b/vv (g/mmL) with a composition of 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100% at each concentration. The parameters observed in this study were pH and voltage measurements during the fermentation process for 7 days, and the bio-batteries that had been made were tested for potential differences in electric current, power, resistance, and durability. As a result, the optimum condition of the bio-battery was obtained in a mixture of 75% banana peel compared to 25% breadfruit peel by producing a potential difference of 1.37 V, an electric current of 1.5 mA, and a power of 0.68 mW. A bio-battery with a composition of 75% banana peel compared to 25% breadfruit peel can last a maximum of 31 hours and 28 minutes when used on a wall clock.

Abstract

Ethnic rivalry triggers competition among individuals, certain actors, and groups. Often, the competition is due to political factors while religion becomes a structural legitimacy. This paper examined how the rivalry between Malay and Dayak in West Kalimantan affected certain groups’ identity. The data of this paper were obtained through a documentation study by reviewing publications and writings on the issue of rivalry and interviews with some figures in West Kalimantan. The result concluded that the rivalry between Malay and Dayak in West Kalimantan was tight due to political factors. The two equally dominant communities have long competed since the colonial period in West Kalimantan. Today's rivalry has taken place since Indonesia's reformation in 1998 and let both groups maintain their identity, and, in some cases, lead to unclear boundaries. They do not live as neighbors but brothers. However, religion remain an essential factor amid the situation and cause the rivalry stronger.

Abstract

This research analyzes volunteers' perspectives on the effects of the 'Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka' (MBKM) initiative on higher education in Indonesia. The MBKM program signifies a substantial paradigm shift in Indonesia's educational policy, emphasizing a comprehensive, adaptable, and pragmatic approach to learning. The initiative aims to facilitate the transition from theoretical academic knowledge to hands-on competencies required in the workforce, promoting career advancement, experiential learning, and individual maturation. This study employs qualitative analysis of volunteer narratives to examine the perceptions, motivations, and obstacles to implementing the MBKM program. The results underscore the program's efficacy in cultivating social responsibility and community engagement, facilitating diverse and global learning opportunities, and augmenting professional and personal competencies. Nevertheless, obstacles to adjustment, obtaining resources, and managing academic obligations are also apparent. This study emphasizes the necessity for increased resources, support systems, and flexible policies to address the changing demands of education. This study enhances the scholarly conversation surrounding educational reform and volunteerism in Indonesia by providing valuable insights to inform future policy discussions and educational advancements.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the forms of violence and the factors that cause them as well as concrete actions taken by the P2TP2A Institution in resolving existing cases by analyzing them using Islamic Law. The research method used in this research is qualitative library research, which is a research method carried out by analyzing and interpreting written sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, research reports and other documents to understand a particular phenomenon or topic. The data source is primary data. The research results show that violence against children requires the attention of all parties. This is because violence against children has broad and long-term impacts. Handling of child victims of violence cannot be carried out by one party or institution alone. The role of information services is important in efforts to prevent acts of violence against women and children, so that the community is not apathetic towards acts of violence in society. The methods of resolving acts of violence against children by P2TP2A Sigli in the perspective of Islamic law fall into the Ta'zir category where the resolution is left to the judge's authority to determine the punishment and the punishment usually does not exceed the had penalty.

Abstract

Indonesia relating to land issues. The meaning of public interest in land acquisition which is expected to be able to help realize justice, prosperity and welfare for the community turns out that in its implementation it actually causes conflict because it is not in accordance with the principles of balance and justice. The problems that the research tries to answer are: (1) What is meant by public interest according to the applicable laws and regulations? (2) How is the reconstruction of the meaning of public interest in land acquisition for development in the public interest based on the principles of balance and justice? To answer this problem, the paradigm used in this research is the constructivism paradigm, supported by the theory of the rule of law, the theory of legal interpretation, and the theory of corrective justice. The methodology in this research uses sociolegal methodology. From this research, it was found that the meaning of public interest in the Basic Agrarian Law apparently changed inconsistently in the derivative regulations that followed. The correct meaning of public interest is the interest of the nation, state, and society, which continues to pay attention to individual interests and must be realized jointly by the central or regional government and the community and used as much as possible for prosperity, justice, and happiness for society as a whole. The recommendation from this research is the need for consistency in the formation of laws and regulations in accordance with the principles of the rule of law. In addition, the government is expected to pay attention to the principles of balance and justice in the land acquisition process for development in the public interest. The current meaning of public interest needs to be reconstructed according to the objectives of UUPA.
