Abstract

This study describes the role of the Balale' Uma tradition in the social integration of the Dayak Kanayatn community in Tonang Village, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. As a traditional form of collective farming, Balale' Uma embodies solidarity, shared goals, and camaraderie among a multicultural community. Using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders, traditional authorities, and local residents. Informants in the study included Tuha Tahutn, the Chairman of Ale’an, members of the Balale' Uma community, and the general public. The research findings indicate that the practice of Balale’ Uma not only supports agricultural activities but also serves as a medium for interfaith unity and harmony among diverse groups, thereby strengthening social integration despite the challenges of modernization. This study highlights the importance of customary traditions in preserving cultural sustainability and reinforcing community resilience, while offering broader insights into how local practices contribute to social integration within a diverse society. The research method employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive focus to describe the phenomena observed, such as the social integration occurring in Tonang Village, Landak Regency, through the Balale’ Uma tradition. The findings of this study indicate that social integration through the balale’ uma tradition remains intact, despite being slightly influenced by the influx of modernization, such as the introduction of tractors in rice field cultivation. However, social integration continues in the process of planting and harvesting rice.

Abstract

Tantangan dalam pemberdayaan guru senior di tengah tuntutan digitalisasi pendidikan seperti perbedaan usia dan pengalaman kerja menimbulkan kesenjangan kemampuan adaptasi sehingga diperlukan kepemimpinan transformasional bagi kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; 1) menganalisis kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah di SD Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota dalam upaya meningkatkan kinerja guru, 2) menganalisis kinerja guru di SD Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota, 3) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat dari penerapan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah di SD Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Partisipan terdiri dari 1 kepala sekolah dan 9 guru kelas, termasuk tiga guru dari Fase A, tiga dari Fase B, dan tiga dari Fase C. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, dan dianalisis menggunakan model analisis data interaktif dari Miles dan Huberman dengan tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi Untuk keabsahan data menggunakan member check dan triangulasi sumber, waktu dan metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional diimplementasikan melalui visi yang jelas, komunikasi yang konsisten, pemberdayaan guru, dan supervisi yang mendukung untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru. Praktik-praktik ini berkontribusi pada kinerja guru yang umumnya memuaskan, khususnya dalam perencanaan pembelajaran dan manajemen kelas. Kepemimpinan transformasional secara positif mendukung kinerja guru, tetapi perlu dilengkapi dengan pengembangan profesional yang terdiferensiasi untuk mencapai peningkatan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Literacy remains a significant challenge in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas, as reflected in low reading interest and literacy achievement. West Kalimantan Province, including Punggur Kecil Village in Kubu Raya Regency, is among the regions with relatively low literacy levels, highlighting the need for community-based literacy initiatives. This study aims to examine the role of the management of the Smart House Punggur Cerdas Community Reading Garden (Taman Bacaan Masyarakat/TBM) in fostering a literacy culture within the community. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving TBM managers, community members, and village stakeholders. Data analysis followed qualitative descriptive procedures, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that TBM managers act as agents of social change by serving as catalysts, mediators, information providers, and learning facilitators. Through structured, inclusive, and sustainable literacy programs, the TBM has contributed to gradual improvements in reading habits, learning attitudes, and the community’s ability to access, understand, and critically engage with information. Literacy transformation occurs across multiple levels, from performative to epistemic literacy, and is supported by community participation, cross-sector collaboration, and adequate facilities. However, challenges such as limited human resources and low reading interest among certain groups remain. Strengthening managerial capacity and ensuring sustained multi-stakeholder support are essential for maintaining literacy culture transformation in rural communities.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika pada materi permutasi dan kombinasi sering mengalami kendala karena sifatnya yang abstrak dan prosedural, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi serta hasil belajar siswa. Diperlukan model pembelajaran yang terstruktur dan didukung media yang mampu memvisualisasikan konsep secara jelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penerapan model Direct Instruction berbantuan multimedia interaktif terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi permutasi dan kombinasi di kelas XII SMAN 1 Seponti. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi-eksperimen non-equivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 60 siswa kelas XII yang dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan model Direct Instruction berbantuan multimedia interaktif, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional tanpa multimedia interaktif. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar (pretest dan posttest) serta angket motivasi belajar. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji normalitas, uji independent sample t-test atau uji Mann–Whitney U, perhitungan N-gain, dan effect size dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran Direct Instruction berbantuan multimedia interaktif dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Nilai N-gain dan effect size menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbantuan multimedia interaktif memberikan peningkatan yang lebih tinggi dan bermakna secara statistik. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi model Direct Instruction dengan multimedia interaktif mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, memperkuat pemahaman konseptual dan prosedural, serta mendorong motivasi belajar matematika. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif strategis dalam pembelajaran matematika, khususnya pada materi kombinatorik di jenjang SMA.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of deficient solfeggio proficiency amongst Year 11 students at SMAN 01 Jagoi Babang, a limitation that invariably leads to suboptimal musical performance, particularly for individuals with diminished pitch perception. The primary objective was to rigorously evaluate the efficacy of the SAPE (Senang Aktif Piano Efektif / Happy Active Piano Effective) interactive media in enhancing solfeggio capabilities within the music curriculum. Employing a quantitative approach, the research utilised a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control-group design within a two-cycle Classroom Action Research framework. This methodology facilitated the precise measurement of proficiency trajectories through comparative analysis. The participant cohort comprised 36 students identified with pitch-perception difficulties via a diagnostic assessment, who were subsequently allocated to homogeneous experimental and control groups through purposive sampling. Data were systematically gathered via a pretest-posttest practical examination targeting sight-reading, ear training, and sight-singing, along with a Likert-scale questionnaire to capture affective responses. The findings demonstrate that the experimental group, utilising the SAPE intervention, achieved consistently superior improvements in solfeggio proficiency compared to the control group subjected to conventional pedagogical methods. Furthermore, SAPE functions as a highly efficacious multimodal instructional tool, fostering active engagement, augmenting self-confidence, and enabling independent, offline practice. Ultimately, this study substantiates that innovative interactive media, particularly when integrating local wisdom, serve as a critical determinant in the successful delivery of secondary school music education.
