Abstract

Character education is a key pillar of the Indonesian education system. Technological developments and the rapid flow of globalization pose significant challenges to the character development of students, particularly in the era of information disruption, which often shifts the nation's moral values. Schools are expected to serve not only as institutions for the transfer of knowledge but also as centers for the formation of noble personalities. One strategic approach to strengthening character education is the integration of local wisdom. Banjar traditions such as the "kayuh baimbai" (mutual cooperation), "badamai" (peaceful deliberation), and the "Batamat Al-Qur'an" (Batamat Al-Qur'an) embodied values ​​of religiosity, responsibility, tolerance, and respect for parents and teachers. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining primary articles related to character education based on local wisdom, particularly in the Banjar community. The analysis shows that local culture-based educational management can be a more contextual and applicable learning alternative, and supports the strengthening of student identity. The study also highlights obstacles such as teachers' limited understanding of local culture, the lack of integration of local wisdom values ​​into the curriculum, and weak infrastructure support. Thus, the integration of local wisdom is not only relevant for strengthening character but also as a strategy for maintaining cultural identity amidst globalization.

Abstract

Integration of cultural elements into the learning process, especially in mathematics, functions as a strategic approach to create a contextual and interesting classroom environment. This study aims to develop ethnomatics-based mathematics learning media that integrates local culture to improve critical thinking skills of 5th grade elementary school students. This study is a type of research and development that refers to three stages: preliminary study, model development, and trial. The subjects of this study consisted of 66 fifth grade elementary school students in Klaten Regency, Central Java who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collected quantitatively to determine the average score, by categorizing based on the evaluation table referred to by the criteria, then analyzed qualitatively. The preliminary study was conducted through observations related to local culture that is relevant to the concept of mathematics and a needs questionnaire. The product developed is a plasticine learning media in the form of traditional cakes as an aid in understanding the concept of geometry. The trial results showed significant improvements in four aspects of learning: conceptual understanding (from 70 to 90), critical thinking skills (from 74 to 89), collaboration (from 75 to 95), and local cultural knowledge (from 70 to 95). These findings indicate that ethnomatics based on local culture is not only effective in improving students' academic abilities, but also in strengthening cultural understanding and collaborative skills. Thus, this approach is worthy of being used as an innovative alternative in mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

These activities aims to provide an explanation of the application of Tut Wuri Handayani to SME leaders in Yogyakarta consisting of SMEs Pottery & Ceramic Crafts "Dwiyanto Ceramic, UMKM Azka Furniture Bantul, Rama Putra Motor Bantul, and Community Learning Center (CLC) in Malaysia. Community development activity method uses direct and remote observation by utilizing the zoom application with interview techniques. The concept used is the concept of Tut Wuri Handayani to help problems in the field and solutions for leaders in achieving organizational goals. The solution used, holding webinars and training workshops offline and online. The observation results can implement the leadership attitude of Tut Wuri Handayani in the Pottery & Ceramic Craft SME "Dwiyanto Ceramic, UMKM Azka Furniture Bantul, Rama Putra Motor Bantul, and Community Learning Center (CLC).

Abstract

Kebiasaan konsumsi camilan tinggi gula pada anak usia dini dapat meningkatkan risiko penyakit tidak menular seperti obesitas dan diabetes melitus tipe 2. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anak usia dini tentang pemilihan camilan sehat rendah gula melalui pendekatan edukatif yang interaktif dan menyenangkan di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 27 Kota Semarang. Metode yang digunakan mencakup ceramah, diskusi, permainan edukatif “Kotak Pintar Nutrisi” dan “Sehat atau Tidak? Tempel dan Tahu”, poster, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post test. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 75 menit kepada 16 siswa usia 5-6 tahun. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan 68,75% siswa memiliki pengetahuan rendah. Selama edukasi, terjadi peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman siswa, 93,75% siswa menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan baik. Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0.001 (p < 0.05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Edukasi gizi dengan media visual dan permainan terbukti efektif dalam membentuk pemahaman dan kebiasaan memilih camilan sehat rendah gula pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Smart Literacy media based on Tri-Nga integrated ethnomathematics in elementary school geometry learning and to determine the level of validity and practicality of the developed media. This study uses a research and development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model which limits it to four stages, namely analysis, design, development, and implementation. In the analysis stage, it is carried out through analysis of needs, student characteristics, curriculum, and local cultural potential. In the design and development stage, it has produced Smart Literacy media that integrates the ethnomathematics context and the Tri-Nga stages (ngerti-ngrasa-nglakoni). The validity of the media in this study was carried out by material experts, media experts, and language experts. The validation results show that the media obtained a percentage of 92.8% from material experts, 96.8% from media experts, and 91.6% from language experts, where all are in the very valid category. The implementation stage was carried out through a limited trial involving 3 teachers and 9 students to determine the level of practicality of the media. The results of a limited trial indicate that the Smart Literacy media is highly practical. This media is able to present geometry learning through the integration of local cultural contexts and comprehensive learning, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Thus, the Smart Literacy media is declared valid and practical, and suitable for use as a geometry learning medium in elementary schools. This research is recommended for further testing the media's effectiveness on a broader scale and for developing similar media for other mathematics materials.

Abstract

General Background Multimodal literacy is essential for elementary students in technology-rich learning environments. Specific Background Reading and viewing abilities remain limited when classroom learning relies on conventional media that are less interactive and less connected to students’ cultural context. Knowledge Gap Previous studies have mostly examined digital learning media for general cognitive outcomes, while research on reading and viewing abilities through interactive media integrated with local values remains limited. Aims This study analyzed the use of interactive learning media integrated with local values for elementary students’ reading and viewing abilities. Results The experimental class increased from a pretest mean score of 63.50 to a posttest mean score of 81.50, while the control class increased from 63.00 to 70.25. The experimental class recorded a 28.30% increase, compared with 11.50% in the control class. The independent t-test showed a significant difference between groups, with t = 4.62 and p = 0.000 < 0.05. Novelty The study combines interactive learning media with local values in reading and viewing learning. Implications The findings provide practical guidance for teachers in designing meaningful, technology-based, and culturally relevant literacy learning. Abstract

This research investigates the effect of integrating the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach on fifth-grade students’ critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in natural and social sciences. The background highlights low student achievement and inadequate critical thinking, often caused by conventional, teacher-centered methods that fail to accommodate individual differences. Using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group (N=56), students were divided into experimental and control classes. The experimental class received PBL-TaRL instruction over eight weeks (16 sessions), while the control class followed conventional teaching. Pretests and posttests were used to assess both critical thinking and learning outcomes. MANOVA results (Wilks’ Lambda = 0.029; p < 0.05) revealed significant differences, with the experimental class showing greater improvement and very large effect sizes (partial eta squared: 0.970 and 0.958). These findings demonstrate that combining PBL and TaRL fosters higher-order thinking and academic achievement by promoting active engagement and adapting materials to students’ proficiency levels. This research recommends broader implementation of PBL-TaRL within the Merdeka Curriculum and highlights the need for teacher training in task design and differentiation to maximize its impact in primary schools.

Abstract

This study offers a comprehensive overview of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovative Science, Social, and Natural Sciences (IPAS) learning in elementary schools. The approach specifically integrates ethnopedagogy with Pancasila Education, while exploring the transformative potential of deep learning for personalized instruction. The research employed an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design, beginning with quantitative data collection and analysis, followed by qualitative data to deepen the understanding of the quantitative results. This method allowed for a holistic view of the effectiveness of IPAS learning based on ethnopedagogy and Pancasila Education, encompassing both quantitative aspects (increased interest and understanding) and qualitative aspects (implementation processes and perceptions). Key findings indicate that integrating ethnopedagogy and Pancasila Education in IPAS learning significantly increased student interest (p < 0.01) and substantially improved IPAS conceptual understanding. Furthermore, this approach strengthened the Pancasila Student Profile dimensions. Student interest showed an average increase of 26.15%, while IPAS conceptual understanding rose by an average of 20%, both with p-values less than 0.01, signifying high statistical significance. The study's uniqueness lies in its holistic mixed-methods analysis of the synergy between ethnopedagogy, IPAS, and Pancasila Education. Additionally, it offers a visionary contribution by discussing the role of deep learning in driving a 21st-century learning revolution to create adaptive and personalized learning environments. The results provide a relevant implementation model for developing 21st-century competencies and excellent student character, aiming to guide educators and policymakers.

Abstract

The low critical reasoning ability of elementary school students in science learning requires learning innovations that are able to integrate technology, project activities, and active student involvement. This study aims to develop interactive multimedia science based on projects and test its validity and effectiveness in improving critical reasoning of elementary school students. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires, observations and critical reasoning questions, while qualitative data were obtained from suggestions and validators of media and materials. The product was tested on 39 students from two elementary schools in Klaten Regency. The sample in this study was selected using a purposive random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using t-tests and N-gain tests to determine the effectiveness of the product in improving critical reasoning. The results of the study showed that the validation of media and materials each obtained a percentage of 87.92% (feasible) and 93.69% (very feasible), and the results of the t-test showed a probability value of 0.004 < 0.05 which indicated a significant influence on improving students' critical reasoning. The results of the N-gain test also showed an increase in students' critical reasoning after the use of project-based interactive multimedia for science and technology. Therefore, it can be concluded that project-based interactive multimedia for science and technology meets the criteria of feasibility and effectiveness so that it can be applied in science and technology learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Motivasi siswa dalam belajar IPA masih tergolong rendah, karena banyak siswa yang menganggap IPA sebagai mata pelajaran yang relatif sulit. Motivasi belajar adalah hal yang sangat penting bagi seorang siswa. Pemanfaatan media belajar yang menarik dan interaktif dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam belajar IPA. Media interaktif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kahoot dalam evaluasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kahoot terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA kelas VI di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini mengunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen metode Quasi Experimental Desain, yaitu penelitian yang terdiri atas kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan SPSS versi 26.0. Hipotesis diuji dengan menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil perhitungan uji-t menunjukkan bahwa sig. 0,01 < 0,05 menunjukkan adanya pengaruh game kahoot terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA menjadi meningkat.
