Abstract

Abstract Hospitals are healthcare facilities that produce solid, liquid, and gas waste. Liquid waste produced from hospital activities contains hazardous and toxic materials, so it needs to be treated before being discharged into water bodies. This study aims to remove Pb levels using the experimental quartz method, namely using avocado seed charcoal and bamboo charcoal. Sampling was conducted using the grab sampling method, with a total of 50 liters collected.  Avocado seed charcoal and bamboo charcoal have good adsorption capabilities, so they can remove Pb levels in hospital liquid waste. The method of this research is quasi-experimental. The results of the study showed that there was a decrease in Pb levels of 0.007 mg/L, which means that it does not exceed the quality standards set by the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 6 of 2021, which is a maximum of 0.01 mg/L. The highest average reduction in Pb levels was in the mixture of avocado seed charcoal and bamboo charcoal at 39.27%.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the accuracy of production cost calculations, which serve as the foundation for determining an appropriate cost of sales. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through direct observation and interviews. The data includes production details, raw material costs, labor costs, and factory overhead costs over a specified period. The study highlights the potential impact of pricing strategies on consumer behavior: a selling price that is too high compared to competitors may lead consumers to opt for cheaper alternatives, while an excessively low price risks underpricing. The findings revealed significant discrepancies in production cost calculations. The company's simplified method resulted in lower costs compared to both the variable costing and full costing methods. The difference between the company's method and full costing suggests the potential for underpricing, as it neglects certain cost components, particularly fixed overhead costs. In contrast, the full costing method offers a more comprehensive and accurate cost analysis, which is crucial for determining sustainable and competitive selling prices.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises are vital to Indonesia’s economy, particularly in North Sumatra, yet face challenges in accessing Islamic banking financing due to internal and external barriers. This study aims to formulate strategies to enhance partnership-based financing for these enterprises in Islamic banks. Using the Analytic Network Process, the research involved nine key informants from academia, regulators, and Islamic bank practitioners, employing in-depth interviews and pairwise comparison questionnaires to map problem elements and prioritize solutions. The findings identify the lack of bank staff competence in understanding the characteristics of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises as the primary internal barrier, while reliance on personal capital by business owners is the main external challenge. Priority strategies include staff training, multi-stakeholder collaboration, digital promotion of partner enterprises’ products, and policies for margin subsidies and collaboration forums. This research offers a strategic framework for inclusive, sharia-compliant financing policies to support regional economic growth. However, its focus on North Sumatra and limited informant sample may restrict broader applicability. The framework provides actionable guidance for policymakers and banks to strengthen financing ecosystems, fostering sustainable development for these enterprises.

Abstract

The empowerment program for Sipange Village aimed to enhance the local community's digital marketing and e-commerce skills to improve the economic value of their local products. This community service program was driven by the challenge of limited market access for the village's unique offerings, such as recycled metal crafts. The program utilized a participatory approach, involving needs assessments, intensive training, and post-training mentoring. Training sessions focused on introducing basic digital marketing concepts, creating and managing e-commerce accounts, and utilizing social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram for product promotion. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding of digital marketing and their ability to create engaging marketing content. The participants successfully created e-commerce accounts and optimised product descriptions with high-quality visuals. In addition, local sales are expected to increase by 25% within three months, with some products reaching new markets in major cities such as Medan and Jakarta. Challenges faced, such as low digital literacy among older participants and unstable internet access, were overcome through personalised support and collaborative infrastructure development with local governments. The program also fostered collaboration among participants through peer-support networks and encouraged entrepreneurial mindsets, enabling the community to embrace innovation and competitiveness. The initiative aligns with national goals for rural digital transformation and sustainable development by promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth. With continued support, the Sipange Village model holds potential as a replicable framework for empowering other rural communities through technology-driven marketing strategies.
