Abstract

In the development of modern learning, the use of digital media as a modern learning tool is increasingly important to encourage the effectiveness of the learning process. One of the teaching media innovations that can be used to attract students' interest in mastering the material is the Word Wall game. This study investigates the effect of the Word Wall game on students’ vocabulary mastery compared to conventional instruction, addressing the urgent need for engaging digital media to enhance English learning in secondary schools. Employing a quasi-experimental quantitative design with pretests and posttests, the research involved 40 eighth-grade students at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group received vocabulary instruction using the Word Wall game, while the control group followed traditional methods. Results show substantial improvement in the experimental class (pretest 56.50; posttest 82.50) compared to the control group (pretest 58.00; posttest 68.50). The independent t-test yielded a significance value of 0.001, indicating a statistically significant effect of the Word Wall game. This study contributes evidence that digital game-based media can effectively support vocabulary acquisition. However, the limited sample suggests the need for broader and longitudinal research.

Abstract

Student-centered learning has become a prominent focus in modern education, encouraging approaches that promote learners’ active participation and emotional engagement. Mindful learning, which emphasizes awareness, reflection, and present-moment focus, has been shown to support these goals. However, few studies have explored how it is practically implemented in English Language Teaching (ELT) classrooms. This study aims to investigate the implementation of mindful learning strategies in English Language Teaching (ELT) and their impact on student motivation and engagement. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research involved one English teacher and 30 eighth-grade students at MTS Muslimin Indonesia Center Samarinda. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and pre- and post-intervention student motivation and engagement questionnaires. The observation results revealed that teachers had begun to apply mindful learning principles such as focused attention and reflection, although not yet in a systematic manner. Major challenges faced by teachers included time constraints, lack of formal training, and initial resistance from students. Quantitative analysis showed a significant increase in student motivation and engagement scores following the implementation of mindful learning strategies. These findings support the application of mindful approaches in ELT and highlight their benefits for enhancing students’ learning experiences. The study also emphasizes the need for institutional support and structured teacher training to ensure more effective implementation of this approach.

Abstract

Studi kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pengembangan karir dan kepuasan karyawan serta perannya dalam membangun keunggulan kompetitif perusahaan. Melalui metode kajian literatur sistematis yang melibatkan empat tahap—perencanaan, pengumpulan dan seleksi data, ekstraksi dan analisis data, serta sintesis dan pelaporan—penelitian ini menganalisis 35 jurnal yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2015 hingga 2025. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas studi empiris menemukan hubungan positif dan signifikan antara pengembangan karir dan kepuasan kerja, di mana pengembangan karir yang terstruktur melalui pelatihan, promosi, dan peningkatan kompetensi mampu meningkatkan kepuasan kerja karyawan. Kepuasan kerja yang tinggi selanjutnya mendorong produktivitas, loyalitas, dan kinerja, serta sering berperan sebagai variabel mediasi yang memperkuat dampak pengembangan karir terhadap kinerja organisasi. Namun, efektivitas hubungan ini dipengaruhi oleh faktor kontekstual seperti kejelasan informasi, transparansi, dan keadilan dalam implementasi program. Sinergi antara pengembangan karir yang inklusif dan kepuasan kerja yang berkelanjutan menjadi fondasi strategis bagi perusahaan untuk mempertahankan sumber daya manusia berkualitas, mengurangi turnover, dan mencapai tujuan organisasi. Oleh karena itu, investasi berkelanjutan dalam pengembangan karir dan penciptaan lingkungan kerja yang memuaskan merupakan langkah krusial untuk membangun keunggulan organisasi jangka panjang.

Abstract

Bima Script, also known as Aksara Mbojo, is one of the local cultural heritages that has been gradually neglected by the younger generation, particularly at the elementary school level. The lack of teaching materials and engaging learning methods has resulted in low student motivation to learn local scripts. This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of context-based flashcards as an alternative learning media for teaching the Bima Script in elementary schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Evaluate). The participants were elementary school students in Rabakodo Village, with validation conducted by four experts, consisting of two media experts and two material experts. The assessment instrument used a 1–4 scale covering visual design, technical aspects, usability, contextual relevance, content feasibility, language, and alignment with learning objectives. The validation results indicated an average score of 94.16 percent for media aspects and 98.33 percent for material aspects, both categorized as “highly feasible.” The flashcard media proved to be simple, attractive, easy to use, and contextually relevant to students’ daily experiences, making it effective for introducing the Bima Script while supporting local cultural preservation. Therefore, context-based flashcards can serve as a practical learning medium that contributes to strengthening students’ cultural identity.

Abstract

Background: Historical newspapers serve as crucial primary sources, preserving a Indonesian nation's collective memory. However, their fragile material composition presents persistent preservation challenges for memory institutions, creating a need to assess the gap between collection conditions and existing safeguards. Purpose: This study aimed to systematically map the extent of physical deterioration in historical newspaper collections and assess the effectiveness of preservation measures implemented by the National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas RI). Methods: The research used a quantitative descriptive design combined with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). A proportional sample of 400 bundles was drawn from a total of 25,814 bundles, representing four major historical periods of Indonesia. Results: Findings indicated that a majority of the collections exhibited moderate to severe damage, including high acidity (95%), foxing (90%), and fungal stains (65%). Crucially, only 5.25% of bundles had undergone physical conservation and 36.25% had been digitized, identifying torn paper and missing sections as the most critical categories requiring immediate intervention. Conclusion: The study concludes that systematic digitization serves as a sustainable preservation surrogate. There is an urgent need to address the significant preservation gap to ensure the long-term survival of Indonesia's documentary heritage. Implications: The findings imply a necessity for strengthening institutional policies, technical protocols, and human resource capacity. Theoretically, it establishes an evidence-based framework for newspaper preservation, while practically, it advocates for prioritizing AHP-based decision-making in conservation resource allocation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of the Miniature Penyengat Mosque Educational Play Tool (APE) as a learning medium to enhance early childhood understanding of religious and moral values in the Riau Islands. The study is motivated by the limited availability of concrete, engaging, and culturally contextual religious learning media, as well as the need to strengthen moral and religious values from an early age in the context of globalization. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants consisted of 30 children aged 4–6 years from three early childhood education (PAUD) institutions, involving teachers and material and media experts as validators. The findings indicate that the Miniature Penyengat Mosque APE demonstrates very high validity, strong practicality, and significant effectiveness in improving children’s religious and moral behaviors, such as worship etiquette, discipline, cooperation, cleanliness, and politeness. Guided play–based learning using this APE provides concrete, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experiences while integrating religious values with Malay–Islamic cultural identity. Therefore, the Miniature Penyengat Mosque APE is recommended as an innovative learning medium aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and has strong potential for broader implementation based on local wisdom.

Abstract

Social media platforms have become places where various individuals express their views on current issues. The Childfree phenomenon has become a widely discussed topic on social media, especially in Indonesia, along with the increasing number of individuals choosing not to have children after marriage. On one hand, the decision to adopt a Childfree lifestyle reflects individual freedom in determining the direction of one's life, which is part of human rights. However, on the other hand, the decision to adopt a Childfree lifestyle has garnered both support and opposition within society, especially in the context of cultural, religious, and demographic values. This phenomenon is rapidly developing with the support of globalization and easy access to information, which allows for an increasingly open discourse on individual freedom in making life choices. This research aims to analyze the childfree phenomenon on social media from the perspective of a demographic threat, human rights perspective, and maqashid sharia. This research uses qualitative methods, with interview techniques involving informants from various backgrounds, including religious figures, medical personnel, and academics in the city of Palangka Raya. The research results indicate that there are significant differences in perspectives on this phenomenon.From a religious perspective, being childfree is viewed as contrary to the principles of maqashid sharia, especially in the aspect of hifz nasl (preservation of lineage). Meanwhile, from a medical perspective, the decision not to have children is associated with certain health risks for women.

Abstract

Kajian literatur ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas konten iklan kreatif dalam meningkatkan brand engagement pada Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di platform digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah tinjauan sistematis terhadap 39 jurnal yang diperoleh dari Google Scholar, melalui tahapan identifikasi, seleksi, ekstraksi, dan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten iklan yang orisinal, komunikatif, serta didukung oleh storytelling yang efektif dan visual yang menarik berperan signifikan dalam membangun persepsi positif, keterlibatan emosional, dan kepercayaan konsumen terhadap merek UMKM. Interaksi digital seperti likes, komentar, shares, dan saves menjadi indikator utama peningkatan engagement. Namun, kajian ini juga mengidentifikasi sejumlah kesenjangan, antara lain kebutuhan akan penelitian longitudinal untuk mengukur keberlanjutan engagement, hubungan yang belum linier antara interaksi tinggi dengan konversi penjualan, serta perlunya eksplorasi lebih mendalam mengenai mekanisme psikologis audiens dan perbandingan efektivitas konten di berbagai platform iklan berbayar. Implikasi dari studi ini merekomendasikan perlunya penelitian lanjutan yang bersifat longitudinal, investigasi kausalitas antara engagement dan konversi, serta analisis terpadu untuk menentukan strategi konten kreatif yang paling optimal sesuai karakteristik produk dan audiens UMKM.

Color quality enhancement is an important factor in the ornamental fish industry, particularly for goldfish (Carassius auratus), as it directly affects market value and consumer preference. The use of carotenoid-based feed additives offers a sustainable alternative for improving the visual appearance of fish. Red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel, which is generally discarded as agro-industrial waste, is known to contain natural carotenoids, particularly betacyanin and beta-carotene, which have potential applications in aquaculture. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Red Dragon Fruit Peel Extract (RDFPE) in improving the color brightness of goldfish, along with related physiological parameters. A completely randomized design was used, consisting of five RDFPE dosage treatments (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 mL/kg of feed), each with three replicates. The measured parameters included color brightness level, total carotenoid concentration, chromatophore cell count, growth, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that RDFPE had a significant effect (p<0.05) on color brightness level, with the optimum response observed at 150 mL/kg, followed by a decline at higher dosages. In contrast, RDFPE had no significant effect (p>0.05) on growth or survival rate. Total carotenoid concentration and chromatophore cell count were reported descriptively (mean ± SD) without statistical analysis, indicating that differences among treatments for these parameters require further confirmation. Water quality remained within the optimal range. These findings highlight the potential of RDFPE as a natural and eco-friendly feed additive for enhancing ornamental fish coloration while promoting the sustainable utilization of agro-industrial waste.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian liberary research atau studi literatur untuk menganalisis peran guru dalam penerapan filsafat idealisme abad-21, khususnya dalam pembentukan karakter dan nilai moral siswa. Data dikumpulkan dari sumber relavan yang berkaitan dengan judul penelitian. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai idealis dalam pendidikan dapat terjadi melalui pembelajaran yang menitikberatkan pada pengembangan moral dan etika serta penguatan karakter siswa. Guru memegang peranan sentral dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung pengembangan nilai-nilai tersebut. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah filosofi idealisme tetap relevan di era digital dan guru mempunyai tanggung jawab besar untuk mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter ke dalam setiap aspek pembelajaran untuk mempersiapkan siswa memiliki landasan moral yang kuat untuk menghadapi tantangan global.
