Abstract

This study examines the application of Lev Vygotsky's theory, particularly the concepts of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) and scaffolding, in language learning in early elementary school classes. Language skills are a crucial aspect of children's cognitive development, with social interaction playing a key role in the learning process. A qualitative research method was employed, involving first and second-grade students and language teachers as subjects. Data were collected through observations, interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires. The findings indicate that the implementation of ZPD and scaffolding effectively enhances children's language skills, increases motivation, and strengthens social interactions. Teachers act as scaffolders, providing appropriate support to help students learn. In conclusion, applying Vygotsky's theory in language learning in early elementary education can bolster children's language abilities, build confidence, and support social development.

Abstract

All humans can use language to speak and interact with others to fulfill their life needs. Language also distinguishes humans from other creatures created by God. In contrast, animal communication is limited to instinctive signals used for basic purposes such as warnings, mating, and defending territory. Communication with animals is well established and has not undergone major developments in terms of complexity or well-being. In addition, human language is productive, able to form new sentences and convey ideas that have never been expressed before, while animal communication is limited to repetitive and established behavioral patterns. This article examines the linguistic, biological evolutionary, and cognitive differences that underlie the differences between the two communication systems, and shows that human language explains how this is possible about the unique position of humans in the use of language and the use of animal language.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the concept of early childhood moral education from the perspective of ontology, epistemology, and axiology, using the literature study method. Moral values, morals and character are aimed at children aged zero to six years so that children have provisions that will be passed throughout their lives. Furthermore, based on the point of view of epistemology. that in inculcating moral values in early childhood can come from two elements, first, sourced from family education, namely by using the methods of storytelling, playing, discussing and field trips. Then the second element of pre-school education, namely the teacher has a role in instilling moral values in early childhood, using the methods of singing, rhyming, outbound, role playing and others. And based on the axiological point of view that ethics and aesthetics are two very important things to consider in instilling moral values in early childhood. Ethics are matters relating to the norms of decency and the good and bad of human behaviour, while aesthetics are matters relating to the experience of beauty possessed by humans.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTransforming education through innovative implementation of a deep learning approach in the learning process requires qualified teachers and institutional support. Professional competence, teacher pedagogical competence, and institutional contextualization are the fundamental foundations for successful implementation of deep learning. However, in reality, teachers in assisted schools do not yet fully understand and have the skills to integrate the DL approach into their learning practices, and training facilities are still limited. The purpose of this training was to provide guidance on the professional, pedagogical, and institutional contextualization of assisted elementary school teachers in implementing deep learning. The results showed that teacher competence increased, both in terms of understanding and integration in the preparation of lesson plans (RPPP)/student activity worksheet (LKPD) and their application in the learning process. The institution also provided optimal support through the availability of training, comfortable and conducive learning spaces, and facilities for integrating technology. The coaching activities successfully had a positive impact on teachers and schools in implementing deep learning.).Keywords: Professional Competency, Pedagogic Competency, Contextual Competency, Deep Learning Approach, Elementary Teachers ABSTRAKTransformasi pendidikan melalui inovasi penerapan pendekatan deep learning pada proses pembelajaran membutuhkan peran guru yang berkualitas dan dukungan lembaga. Abstract

This study examines Seloko Adat, a traditional oral tradition of the Jambi Malay community, through the lens of anthropolinguistic pragmatics and language planning. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research analyses Seloko performances across six stages of the wedding ceremony to determine how linguistic structures regulate social interaction and sustain communal identity. Findings reveal that these rituals utilize elaborate metaphors and indirect speech acts to uphold Malay social norms and interpersonal politeness. Pragmatic analysis demonstrates that Seloko serves as a critical mechanism for building inter-family relationships and managing social expectations within the ritual context. However, facing a critical decline in intergenerational transmission, the study explores the pedagogical potential of integrating these linguistic traditions into local curricula as a form of acquisition planning. By documenting this diminishing oral tradition, the research highlights the vital role of ritualized language in maintaining social cohesion and proposes concrete language-in-education frameworks for its curriculum integration to support language revitalization and character development within contemporary Indonesian society.

Abstract

Changes in learning methods at school can affect students' learning habits and activity patterns. This study aims to investigate the effect of hybrid learning compared to online learning on fitness level and body composition, specifically focusing on body mass index (BMI). The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. The number of research subjects was 128 students with an average age of 10.35 ± 0.67 years, a body weight of 42.05 ± 8.97 kg, and a height of 142.84 ± 7.94 cm. The results showed that the post-test BMI score in the hybrid learning group decreased significantly, p < 0.05, by 19.69 kg/m2, and there was an increase in physical activity of 2.94 METs. Whereas in the online learning group, there was no significant difference in BMI or physical activity variables. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers in schools and other educators to apply the hybrid method compared to online learning so that students' physical activity patterns can be maintained and continuously improved, which has an impact on body composition. The findings can also help in reducing physical activity patterns in big cities on the island of Sumatera and can be a discussion for researchers to create or modify more effective and efficient learning methods.
