History Education Study Program, Department of Social Science Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Supervisor Idrus A Rore. This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated learning in the Independent Curriculum in History subjects in class X-A of SMA Negeri 4 Palu. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of this study, the implementation of differentiated learning in the independent curriculum in history subjects in class X shows that the understanding of history teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Palu regarding the concept of differentiated learning in the Independent Curriculum is quite good but still needs to be improved. Teachers understand that differentiation aims to adapt learning to the needs, interests, and readiness of students, and implement it through varied assignments, student grouping, and the use of different media. However, the implementation still faces obstacles such as limited time, facilities, and a large number of students, as well as some teachers who do not fully understand this concept. Nevertheless, support in the form of training and teacher discussions has helped increase student motivation and engagement in history learning.

Abstract

A deep learning approach in education that creates deep, meaningful, and exhilarating learning experiences, as well as developing students' critical thinking skills. The implementation of this approach has great challenges, especially in terms of teacher competence, curriculum, and supporting facilities. The main objective of this learning is to equip students with critical thinking skills that will not only be useful in school, but also in their daily lives. The research method used is a literature study, which aims to review and analyze various relevant previous research. Data were obtained through searching, identification, and selection of literature indexed in Scholler, and Scopus. Relevant literature was selected based on topic relevance and publication quality, with data analysis using qualitative techniques based on content analysis, including categorization, synthesis of findings, and narrative analysis. The results of the study show that the epistemological gap in teacher competence is the main obstacle in implementing deep learning effectively. Teachers who lack reflective understanding and critical literacy can hinder the goal of deep learning. In addition, a curriculum that does not support active learning based on 21st century skills is also a challenge. Project-based, collaborative, and problem-based learning can improve students' critical thinking skills, but it requires adjustments in the education system. Based on these findings, strategic measures such as improved teacher training, flexible curriculum changes, and the provision of adequate support facilities are essential to optimize the application of deep learning in education. With the right application, deep learning can produce students who are more critical, creative, and ready to face global challenges.

Abstract

Historian Adventure is an edutainment learning medium that incorporates both educational and entertainment components with the objective of rendering the process of learning history more engaging and interactive. The objective of this research is to develop edutainment learning media, Historian Adventure, on Indonesian history during the Hindu-Buddhist period based on Bima-Dompu local history at the university level. The research methodology employed is that of development research (R&D), with reference to Thiagarajan's 4-D (Four-D) model, which comprises four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. This research involved the input of material experts, learning media experts, and 30 students enrolled in the History Education Study Program at STKIP Yapis Dompu. The results of the feasibility study indicate that the developed media meets the highest standards of feasibility, with an initial assessment by media experts yielding a score of 89.23% (very feasible) and an increased score of 95.38% in the second stage. The results of the initial trial demonstrated a feasibility score of 86.54%, indicating a high level of suitability for the intended purpose. The subsequent trial yielded a similar score of 86.64%, confirming the continued high feasibility of the learning media. In light of the aforementioned results, it can be posited that the Historian Adventure learning media is an efficacious pedagogical tool for the acquisition of knowledge pertaining to Indonesian history during the Hindu-Buddhist period, based on local history. The adventure format enables students to engage with historical events, identify Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms, and comprehend the impact of Hindu-Buddhist religion and culture, particularly in the context of Bima-Dompu.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the decline in students' learning outcomes in class X E, as evidenced by the average score of 31.88 in the odd semester examination of the 2024/2025 academic year for the History subject, as well as the use of conventional teaching methods which are considered boring. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of the Project Based Learning model on students' learning outcomes in class X E. The method used in this research was a Quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group, involving an experimental class (X E) and a control class (X F) with purposive sampling techniques, and the research sample consisted of 29 students. The results of the Mann Whitney U analysis showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.017 < 0.05, thus the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected. Therefore, there is a significant influence of the Project Based Learning model on students' learning outcomes in the History subject in class X E At SMA Negeri 1 Sigi.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how teacher learning management is carried out in the implementation of the Independent Shared Freedom Curriculum at SD Negeri 190 Barru, the challenges faced by teachers, and the strategies they employ to overcome those challenges. This is a qualitative research study using a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that teacher learning management at SD Negeri 190 Barru has been implemented fairly well and aligns with the principles of the Independent Curriculum, particularly in granting teachers the autonomy to design learning that suits the characteristics of their students. In the planning stage, teachers have used learning outcomes and teaching modules tailored to students’ needs. In the implementation stage, differentiated learning practices were observed. In the evaluation stage, diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments were carried out adequately by the teachers. However, several challenges remain, including limited resources, the need for in-depth teacher training, classroom management skills, and a lack of collaboration among teachers. To address these challenges, teachers have adopted various strategies such as engaging in self-directed training based on individual needs, enhancing collaboration, integrating technology, and developing available resources. This study recommends the provision of supporting facilities to optimize the implementation of the curriculum.
