Abstract

ABSTRACTThe study was conducted on March in the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences and Photomicrograph Laboratoryat The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different glycerol concentrations to milk extender on sperm motility, viability, fertility and hatching rate of sheat-fish (Ompok rhadinurus Ng, 2003) during short storage. This experiment useda Factorial Complete Random Match (CRD) one factor with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely: P0 : 0% Glycerol in 100% milk extender, P1 : 1% Glycerol in 99% milk extender, P2: 2% Glycerol in 98% milk extender, P3 : 3% Glycerol in 97% milk extender and P4 : 4% Glycerol in 96% milk extender. Semen of this experiment was found from 35 males of sheat-fish and stored in the refginerator with 4 oC of temperature. The result showed that different glycerol concentrations to milk extender significantly affected to sperm quality of self-fish (Ompok rhadinurus Ng, 2003) during 96 hours storage (P<0.05). The result showed that P4 (4% Glycerol on 96% Milk Extender) was the best treatment with 76 hours of optimal storage time, it caused by sperm motility that was still good (3) with 47,8% viability. The fertility in 12 hours of storage was 87% with 89,6% hatching rate. But in 96 hours of storage fertility decreased until 45,3% with 53,3% hatching rate. Keyword :Ompok rhadinurus Ng, 2003, Glycerol, Milk Extender, Sperm Quality

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to determine the effect ofRecombinant Growth Hormone (rGH) Doses and  immersion duration on Growth Rate and Survival of giant gouramy Larvae (Osphronemus gouramy). The research was conducted from December 2019 to February 2020 at the Fish Hatcheryand Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Riau University. The method used was aComplete Randomized Design (RAL) with 2 factors. The first factor was the dose of rGH with 3 levels;0 mg/l (D0), 2 mg/l (D1), and 3 mg/l (D2). While the second factor was the immersion durationwith three levels of 45 minutes (P1), 60 minutes (P2) and 75 minutes (P3) respectively. TheLarvae were culturedin aquariumfilled with 15 litersof ground waterfor 40 days. The results showed that the use of different doses and  immersion duration of rGH effected  on absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate and survival of giant gouramy  larvae. Treatment dose 3 mg /l and 60 minutes (D2P2) with the result of absolute weight growth of 1.20 grams, absolute length 3.48 cm, specific growth rate of 14.61 % and for sincerity with a value of 100.00%. The water quality parameters during the study were optimal for gourami larvae namely water temperature 27.8-28.9 0C, pH 5.9-6.9 and dissolved oxygen 3.5-6.8 mg/l.Keywords : Different Doses, Immersion Duration,rGH, Gouramy fish Larvae,Growth and Survival rate

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study was conducted on 26-31 May 2018 at BBI Kurnia Indah Mahato Village KM 37 Tambusai Utara Rokan Hulu Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of the effect of the combination of ovaprim and oxytocin hormones with different ratios for ovulation and hatching of fish eggs baung. The method used in this study is the experimental method. The treatments applied in this study were: P0 = Injecting with 100% ovaprim 0.5 ml / kg, P1 = Injecting with 25% oxytocin + 75% ovaprim, P2 = Injecting with 50% oxytocin + 50% ovaprim, P3 = Injecting with 75% oxytocin + 25% ovaprim, P4 = Injection with 100% oxytocin 0.7 ml / kg. The results of this study concluded that ovaprim can be combined with oxytocin to stimulate ovulation and hatching of eggs in baung fish (Hemibagrus nemurus). The best dosage was obtained in P2 treatment (50% ovaprim and 50% oxytocin) which resulted in the fastest latency time of 6 hours 31 minutes, the number of eggs stripping as much as 63 g / parent, and IOS value 3.17%, increase in egg diameter 0.343 mm, egg maturity increase 28%, fertilization value 68%, hatching value 71.3%, and survival value (SR5 days) of 77%. Keywords: Injections, Oxytocin Hormones, Ovaprim Hormones, Baung Fish ((Hemibagrus nemurus))

Abstract

AbstractResearch on the effect of feeding frequency and feeding rate on growth, feed eficiency and survival rate of java barb larvae (Puntius javanicus Blkr) was conducted on 26 June-4 August 2018 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding, Pinang Mancung Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra. In this research the larvae were rearing in aquarium sized 40x30x30 cm filled with 15 L of water. Each aquarium was stocked two larvae per L.The experimental design useda completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors, namely feeding frequency with three levels: two times/day (F2), three times/day (F3) and four times/day (F4). The second factor was the feeding rate with three levels: P25 (25 %of  body weight), P50 (50 % of body weight), P75 (75 % of body weight). To minimize errors, each level of treatment was repeated 3 times. The best growth rate in the treatment of F4P75 (feeding frequency four times/day with feeding rate 75% of body weight)with an absolute weight of 2.45 gr, absolute length 3.45 cm, average growth rate of 14.78 %/day, feed eficiency 24.56 % and survival rate 98.88 %. The condition of water quality is the water temperature 24,6-27,90C, pH 5,3-6,7 and dissolved oxygen 5,1-6,0 mg/l. Keywords : Puntius javanicus Blkr, feeding frequency, feeding rate, growth, feed eficiency, survival rate.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted in August-September 2020 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru. This research aims to determine the effect of different washing solutions (milk, urea, formalin) on eggs adhesive, fertilization rate, hatching, and the survival of Patin catfish (P. hypophthalmus) larvae. This experimental research used a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern (CRD) with 1 factor, 4 levels of treatment, and 3 replications. The treatment levels covered PA: No washing (Control), PS: 14 grams of powdered milk + 1 gram of NaCl/L of water (20 minutes), PU: 4 grams of urea + 4 grams of NaCl/L of water (5 minutes), PF: 0.4 mg formalin/L of water (10 minutes). The washing was performed on 1 gram of eggs or with a density of ± 1153 eggs in each treatment which was then incubated in a container in an egg hatching funnel. The best washing solution for washing eggs contained 14 grams of powdered milk + 1 gram of NaCl resulting in 100% of eggs that do not stick together (non-adhesive) and the fertilization rate reached 76.52% with the hatching rate of 76.98% and larval survival (SR 5 days) of 87.11%.Keywords: Milk solution, urea, formalin, adhesiveness, fertilization, hatching, survival
