Abstract

Kabuaran Village in Lumajang faces challenges related to suboptimal inorganic waste management. Waste is often burned, resulting in air pollution. Through a community service program, the initiative aims to empower residents in processing inorganic waste. The activity began with observation, problem identification, and the discovery of low public awareness regarding the utilization of inorganic waste. To increase awareness and utilization of inorganic waste, the proponent held various activities, starting with socialization or counseling, followed by training in making handicrafts from recycled materials and techniques for marketing these products. This activity aims to meet sustainable development goals (SDGs) 12 and 13 related to consumption, production, and climate change. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding and skills in processing inorganic waste into economically valuable craft products. The community was also motivated to reduce waste burning and switch to recycling. This activity is expected to be sustainable and become an example for other villages in managing waste more responsibly.

Abstract

Humanistic education, according to Ki Hadjar Dewantara, is an educational concept that aims to shape students into individuals who are spiritually and physically independent, while viewing humans as holistic beings. This study seeks to describe Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s formulation of humanistic education through a literature review method, using his own works on education as primary sources, alongside relevant supporting literature. The findings reveal that Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s concept of humanistic education is grounded in several key principles: (1) viewing humans as noble beings endowed with the unity of thought, feeling, and will—known as the soul’s trilogy of cipta, rasa, and karsa—which distinguishes humans from animals; (2) the teacher functions as a role model and a moral guide, particularly in the realms of faith and religion, and engages with students through the ethical principles of Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa, and Tut Wuri Handayani; (3) students are treated as learning subjects who inherently possess potential from birth and are responsible for their own education; (4) the ultimate goal of education is to produce independent individuals; and (5) the educational method employed is the Among method.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in response to the low level of students' ability at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities to write research proposals in accordance with academic standards. The main problems encountered include difficulties in formulating research problems, developing a systematic research background, selecting appropriate research titles, and understanding the format and structure of research proposals. The objective of this activity was to improve students' understanding and skills in writing well-structured, logical, and academically sound research proposals. The method employed was an interactive workshop that combined theoretical explanations and hands-on practice, including training in problem formulation using the 5W+1H approach, background writing grounded in theory and data, strategies for selecting relevant research titles, and a comprehensive understanding of the research proposal structure. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants' understanding and ability to develop the main components of a research proposal, as demonstrated by the preparation of individual proposal drafts. Furthermore, the high level of participants' enthusiasm and engagement throughout the activity suggests that the training method was effective and aligned with students' needs.

Abstract

The mining industry demands mechanical performance that is reliable, fast, and complies with safety standards. In this context, technical training and work motivation are crucial factors in shaping the quality of human resources. PT Pamapersada Nusantara, through the Mechanic Competency Booster (MCB) Program, aims to accelerate the competence development of contract-based mechanics (PKWT) through hands-on practice and staged coaching. In addition, work motivation is also believed to play a vital role in encouraging enthusiasm, responsibility, and initiative among mechanics in the field. Previous studies have highlighted the role of practical training and intrinsic motivation in improving technical performance, but few have tested their simultaneous effects by considering competence as a mediating variable. Therefore, this study attempts to fill that gap by examining the relationships among the MCB program, motivation, competence, and mechanic performance in a structured and quantitative manner. The study also reinforces its statistical findings with empirical field data through observations and interviews to ensure alignment between theoretical data and operational realities in the mining work environment. This study employs a quantitative approach using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 83 contract mechanics at the ARIA District, PT Pamapersada Nusantara. The research instrument consists of four latent variables: the MCB program, motivation, competence, and performance. The results show that both the MCB program and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on competence and mechanic performance. Motivation emerges as the most dominant factor in shaping competence, while the MCB program enhances technical readiness and independent work. Competence has a direct impact on improving task achievement and technical work efficiency. Furthermore, competence is also proven to significantly mediate the relationship between both the MCB program and motivation on performance, although the strength of this indirect effect is smaller than the direct path. These findings are supported by qualitative data from group leaders and instructors, who confirmed that field performance improves when mechanics are motivated and entrusted with independent responsibilities.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant advancements but has also increased the risk of cybercrime, one of which is phishing. Phishing is a form of cybercrime aimed at stealing personal data by deceiving victims into providing sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card numbers, or other identity data. This crime poses a serious threat to information security and individual privacy, especially in digital transactions. This study aims to analyze phishing modus operandi, evaluate legal regulations governing personal data protection, and assess the effectiveness of legal protection for phishing victims in Indonesia. The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory approach. This study finds that phishing is a serious threat to individual and organizational security in Indonesia, with modus operandi involving fake messages, impersonation of trusted institutions, and counterfeit websites to steal personal information. Cyber law regulations, including the Criminal Code (KUHP), the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), and the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP), have established provisions for personal data protection and sanctions for phishing perpetrators. However, implementation faces challenges. Weak law enforcement, lack of investigative expertise, low digital literacy among the public, and limited infrastructure and human resources are the main obstacles in addressing this crime. Additionally, rapid technological advancements create new security vulnerabilities that existing regulations have not fully anticipated
