Abstract

This research aims to find out correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking ability of undergraduate students at Tadulako University. The subjects of this research were students of the fourth semester and the research subjects were randomly selected to be the sample of this study. The total number of samples was 30 students. They worked on a test of vocabulary and speaking to have data of the relationship. The data were tested to have normality and linear relationship and the result of tests indicated that data are normally distributed and have a linear relationship. Then, the data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient to find out the correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking ability. The result of analysis indicated that the correlation coefficient between vocabulary mastery and speaking ability is 0.559. The result is categorized as “moderate” (0.40 to 0.59). Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is accepted, in which there is a positive correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking ability of the eight grade students. In other word, the greater the English vocabulary student acquire, the better their speaking ability is.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cone drill training through the traditional Hadang game on improving the agility of fifth-grade students at SDN Banjaran 03. The research used a one-group pretest-posttest design with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 11 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a shuttle run test to measure students' agility levels before and after the intervention, which consisted of Hadang game training for four weeks. Data analysis using a paired sample t-test showed a significant improvement in agility after the intervention, with a significance value (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the Hadang game, which involves quick movements and frequent direction changes, is effective in enhancing the agility of elementary school students. This study recommends incorporating traditional games as an alternative method in physical education classes to improve students’ physical fitness in a fun and educational manner.

Abstract

Banyak pasien dewasa membutuhkan perawatan ortodonti karena alasan estetis. Selain itu, perawatan ortodonti untuk mengoreksi maloklusi dapat membantu pasien untuk melakukan prosedur kontrol plak yang adekuat. Namun, klinisi tidak dapat memulai perawatan ortodonti ketika jaringan periodontal belum stabil dan dalam kondisi inflamasi. Oleh karena itu, klinisi harus dapat mendiagnosa dan mempersiapkan kondisi periodontal agar dalam kondisi yang sehat dan stabil sebelum memulai perawatan ortodonti. Selain itu, diperlukan waktu untuk mencapai kondisi periodontal yang sehat dan stabil setelah terapi periodontal. Prosedur pembedahan dan regenerasi memerlukan waktu penyembuhan yang jauh lebih lama dibandingkan pendekatan yang lebih sederhana. Tujuan penulisan laporan ini adalah untuk menunjukkan kemungkinan pendekatan terapi periodontal sederhana untuk mendapatkan kondisi periodontal yang sehat dan stabil sebelum perawatan ortodonti cekat pada pasien dengan periodontal yang kompromis.

Abstract

This study examines the role of principal leadership in fostering a culture of quality education at SMP IT Mutiara. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the transformational leadership strategies implemented by the principal in building a conducive learning environment through data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and notes. The findings of the study indicate that the principal plays a strategic role in shaping a culture of quality education through various integrated strategies, including mentoring and developing teacher professionalism, and encouraging active participation from all school members. Despite facing challenges such as rejection from senior teachers towards new teaching methods, budget constraints, and the balance between academic achievement and Islamic character development, the principal overcomes these obstacles through his visionary, communicative, and focused leadership. The positive impact of developing a culture of quality education can be seen from the increasing quality of graduates accepted at the selected school, the increasing professionalism of teachers, and the high achievement of students in both academic and non-academic fields. This study confirms that the leadership of the principal is not merely administrative, but is a driving force for educational transformation that drives all departments in the school to provide the best educational services.

Abstract

Literacy culture is a fundamental pillar in shaping a generation capable of critical thinking, creativity, and competitiveness. In the context of junior secondary education, the school library plays a strategic role in fostering literacy culture through various literacy programs and activities. This study aims to describe the library management in developing students’ literacy culture at SMP Pahlawan Nasional Medan, covering aspects of planning, implementation, organization, and evaluation of library programs. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the principal, librarian, teachers, and students, as well as documentation of library activities. The results showed that library planning was carried out systematically, involving multiple stakeholders and aligned with students’ reading needs and interests. Implementation of literacy programs such as the Morning Literacy Movement and One Book One Month proved effective in increasing student engagement in reading and writing activities. The library organization functioned collaboratively with clear distribution of roles among involved parties. Program evaluation was conducted periodically and served as a basis for library development and improvement. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that library management at SMP Pahlawan Nasional Medan has been implemented effectively and contributes significantly to the development of students’ literacy culture.

Abstract

General Background: Education is central in preparing future generations with competitive competencies. Specific Background: In Islamic institutions, madrasahs play a crucial role in shaping both academic and non-academic excellence, including through extracurricular activities. Knowledge Gap: Prior research has rarely focused on strategic leadership in extracurricular program development, especially in Sumatera Utara’s Islamic schools. Aims: This study aims to explore the strategies implemented by the head of MTs Al-Wasliyah 16 Perbaungan in enhancing student achievement through extracurricular engagement. Results: Through qualitative descriptive methods, results show that structured strategies—vision-based planning, program selection, mentor empowerment, and periodic evaluation—led to an 85% achievement rate, with national-level success in tahfiz and tilawah. Novelty: This is the first study in the region that comprehensively links Islamic leadership principles to extracurricular program outcomes in a madrasah. Implications: The findings offer a strategic model for madrasah leaders to systematically develop student potential beyond the academic curriculum and promote replicable educational leadership practices. Highlights: The madrasa head strategically plans and develops 17 types of extracurricular activities to enhance student performance. Tahfiz Qur’an and Tilawah are the most consistently awarded activities, reaching national-level competitions. Challenges include limited student motivation and inadequate facilities, which are addressed through partnerships and delegation. Abstract

This research aims to explore the influence of the work environment, emotional intelligence and compensation on employee job satisfaction with motivation as a moderator as well. This research uses the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method to analyse the relationship between research variables with the help of Smart PLS software. The saturated sampling method was used for research where the entire population of Buddhi College School employees was sampled as 157 respondents. The research results support the proposed hypothesis that the work environment, emotional intelligence, compensation and motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction.  Meanwhile, the research results show that the relationship between motivation and the influence of the work environment on job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, the relationship between motivation and the influence of emotional intelligence and compensation on job satisfaction has a negative and significant effect. Implications for organizations, if organizations want to increase job satisfaction, then organizations need to improve the work environment, emotional intelligence, compensation and motivation.

Abstract

Aditya Yoga Kurniawan ( 182223006 ). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan ABC running drill terhadap kecepatan lari jarak pendek pada komunitas Tegal runner. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen, populasi penelitian adalah anggota dari komunitas Tegal runner, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah beberapa anggota dari komunitas yang berjumlah 12 orang. Tes yang dilakukan adalah lari 100 meter. Hasil pretest didapat waktu rata-rata 13.72 detik, dan rata rata posttest adalah 12.83 detik setelah diberikan treatmen. Hasil penelitian ini adalah ABC running drill dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan kecepatan lari setelah di beri perlakuan latihan, rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan kecepatan lari 100 meter 0.89 detik teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji hipotesis menggunakan paired sampel t test. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig dari perhitungan uji t sebesar 0.000 atau lebih kecil dari 0.05 atau bisa dikatakan ( 0.000 < 0.05 ), temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang sangat signifikan dalam penelitian. Dari hasil tersebut maka disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh dari latihan ABC running drill terhadap peningkatan kecepatan lari 100 meter pada komunitas Tegal runner. Aplikasi Penelitian ini adalah latihan ABC running drill dapat dijadikan salah satu bentuk latihan untuk meningkatkan lari 100 meter.

Abstract

Setiap orang yang percaya kepada Yesus Kristus sangat penting mengetahui bahwa Yesus Kristus telah membebaskan setiap pribadi dari kehidupan lama ke kehidupan yang baru. Peneliti menemukan beberapa kesalahpahaman mengenai manusia baru seperti yang terdapat dalam Injil Yohanes 3 : 4 dan 7  "Bagaimanakah mungkin seorang dilahirkan, kalau ia sudah tua? Dapatkah ia masuk kembali ke dalam rahim ibunya dan dilahirkan lagi?"  Janganlah engkau heran, karena Aku berkata kepadamu: Kamu harus dilahirkan kembali. Ayat diatas menunjukan bahwa tidak semua orang memahami kehidupan baru, lahir baru atau manusia baru. Dalam kitab Kolose ini khususnya pasal 3: 1-17 Rasul Paulus berusaha menjelaskan dalam suratnya dan meneguhkan iman orang percaya kepada Yesus Kristus di Jemaat Kolose dan Rasul Paulus mendorong untuk berusaha mendapatkan hal-hal yang sama dengan pikiran Yesus. Oleh karena itu ada beberapa hal yang menjadi tantangan yaitu di jaman yang serba canggih ini, seperti perkembangan teknologi, meluasnya dan berkembangnya sosial media. Jemaat-jemaat diperhadapkan situasi dan kondisi yang membahayakan pikiran dan tindakan tidak sesuai dengan kehidupan yang baru yaitu manusia baru, karena segala sesuatu dapat di akses secara mudah oleh generasi zaman ini. Alasan inilah yang perlu dipahami, bahwa orang percaya harus berusaha terus menerus untuk memiliki pikiran seperti yang Yesus pikirkan, sehinga orang percaya ini hidup sebagai manusia baru serta benar benar merdeka dari manusia lamanya.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Listen-and-Draw technique in enhancing the listening comprehension of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Banawa Tengah. Employing a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design, two classes were selected: one experimental group taught using the Listen-and-Draw method and one control group taught with conventional instruction. Pretest and posttest assessments were administered to measure student achievement. The results indicated a significant improvement in the experimental group’s performance (mean posttest score = 47) compared to the control group (mean = 33). The t-test analysis (t-count = 9.97 > t-table = 0.0195) confirmed a statistically significant difference between groups. These findings support the use of the Listen-and-Draw technique as an effective instructional method to improve listening comprehension among junior high school students.
