Abstract

Halaqah has been started since the beginning of Islam. As is known, Mecca is the center of religion for the Arabs. There is the worship of the Kaaba and the worship of idols and idols which are sanctified by the entire Arab nation. The aspiration to improve the condition of the Arabs is certainly more difficult and difficult if the people who want to make improvements are far from the state of the Arab nation's environment. This requires a lot of effort so, in the face of such conditions, the wisest course of action is not to be surprised to suddenly encounter something that irritates the Arabs. halaqah as a teaching and learning process carried out by students, by circling the teacher concerned. In such a position, at the beginning of learning, the method used is the lecture method, then it is varied with other methods, such as the guidance method. The Ustad or Kiai guides the reading of the students while providing corrections when there is an inappropriate reading of the students. The Ustad or Kiai also explains the contents of the book in words or sentences in Arabic, Indonesian, or other languages if needed.

Abstract

Many learners of the Arabic language struggle to access primary Islamic sources, which are predominantly written in Arabic. Mastery of Quranic Arabic is essential in both Islamic studies and Arabic language acquisition, particularly for non-native speakers aiming to understand Islamic teachings. However, conventional methods of teaching Arabic grammar often focus heavily on theoretical aspects and fail to develop practical language skills. This study investigates the role of pedagogical grammar in Arabic language instruction, particularly in the development of teaching materials tailored to Quranic Arabic. Employing the 4D research and development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) by Thiagarajan, the study designed pedagogical grammar-based instructional materials using Quranic texts. These materials were tested on a cohort of 40 fourth-semester students. The findings demonstrate that instructional materials developed through a pedagogical grammar approach, incorporating authentic Quranic texts, significantly enhance learning outcomes. Students showed statistically significant improvement in performance, particularly in the qawāʿid li al-mutaqaddimīn course. The study concludes that pedagogical grammar-based materials are effective and should be further implemented in Islamic higher education institutions to enrich grammar instruction, optimize learning efficiency, and foster deeper engagement with Quranic texts.

Abstract

Multicultural education plays an important role in managing the diversity of culture, ethnicity, and religion in pluralistic societies such as Indonesia. However, in practice, religious education is often taught from an exclusive perspective that may overlook the importance of appreciating diversity. Therefore, this study aims to explore the meaning of multicultural education within the framework of Islamic educational philosophy. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources, including books, scientific journals, and other academic documents related to multicultural education and Islamic educational philosophy. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that multicultural education in the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy emphasizes values such as tolerance, equality, justice, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. These values are rooted in the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith, which encourage humans to live harmoniously in diversity. Furthermore, multicultural education in Islamic education aims to develop individuals who are not only religious but also open-minded, inclusive, and capable of interacting constructively within a pluralistic society. The integration of multicultural values into Islamic education is expected to strengthen social harmony and prevent potential conflicts arising from cultural and religious differences.

Abstract

The Tallasa Kamase-Mase tradition was regarded as a cultural heritage of the Ammatoa indigenous community in Kajang, Bulukumba Regency, which instilled values of simplicity, balance, and harmony in everyday life. A qualitative approach was employed using ethnographic methods, including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Triangulation of sources, techniques, and time was applied to ensure the validity of the data. Twelve Islamic educational values were identified within the Tallasa Kamase-Mase tradition, covering the dimensions of creed, worship, ethics, social interaction, and scientific-ecological understanding. These values aligned with ten principles of religious moderation, such as tawassuth, tasamuh, musawah, and muḥākamah. The findings indicated that local wisdom was compatible with Islamic values and effective in shaping inclusive religious character. The study was concluded to offer both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Islamic education rooted in local cultural wisdom.
