Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Web-Based Simulation (WBS) on Physics learning to enhance digital literacy skills of Grade XI students in high school. The level of digital literacy skills of the students in the experiment and control group before and after they study using WBS learning and none was determined respectively. The comparison of their levels before and after the study was done to determine the effectiveness of the WBS learning. The participants of this study were 49 students of science class, with 14-16 age. The research design in this study were descriptive-comparison and pretest-posttest experimental design. Data analysis using Anova mixed design with significant 5%. The result of this study are level of students' digital literacy skill before learning process is generally very low; but after the treatment these skill was comparatively increased. In addition, there was a significant difference in the level of digital literacy skill of the classes where the WBS learning is the more effective than direct learning to enhance students’ digital literacy skill.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of online simulation in physics learning toward students’ digital literacy skills. There are 106 randomly students Grade XII Science from West Borneo and Riau Province, Indonesia as participants in this study. The level of digital literacy skill of all participants in the classes before and after the learning process was determined to assess the effectiveness of two models with online simulation learning.  We used comparative –descriptive, pre-test and post-test experimental design, and Anova Mixed Design to analysis data. The result of this study was: (1) Students’ digital literacy skill of students in two groups initially are at very low level and increased after learning; (2) there was a significant difference in the level of digital literacy skill of the students online simulation with GDL class; (3) in this study, the online simulation with GDL model is more effective than online simulation with PBL model in enhancing students’ digital literacy skill in senior high school. For the conclusion, in this study students’ digital literacy skill in Indonesia is rather below. Model PBL with online simulation is one of the teaching models that can be used in enhancing students’ digital literacy skills.

Abstract

AbstractThe demands of 21st century skills highlighted the importance of cooperation between teachers and students to achieve the expected skill. Pedagogical knowledge of teachers in teaching and technology into things that need to be developed. Pedagogic ability of teachers in the use of technology can be a potential to develop students' abilities argument. This study aims to develop students' ability argumentation through pedagogical knowledge of teachers in using technology. The technology used is the result of the development of student worksheets 3D PageFlipp Impulse and Momentum material. The purpose of this study to look at the ability of students through the application of scientific argumentation (Technological Pedagogic Knowledge) TPK teachers in the classroom. This research is descriptive research. The data collection capability student argumentation performed by administering a written test. The subjects were students of class X at SMAN 1 Yogyakarta Prambanan. Rate scientific argumentation ability of students refers to Toulmin Argumentation Pattern (TAP). The results showed that the complexity of argumentation ability of students still at low level . These results suggest that the ability of the student arguments need to be improved.

Abstract

Digital literacy skills of students in Indonesia are still very low. This study aims to examining the effectiveness of Online Laboratory Simulation with Concept Mapping and Problem-Based Learning model in improving students’ digital literacy skills. The research objectives have been describing the significances of the difference between learned students using the PBL model, Online Laboratory Simulation with Problem-Based Learning (OLS-PBL) model, Online Laboratory Simulation with Concept Mapping and Problem-Based Learning (OLS-CMPBL) model. It is a quasi-experimental with pre and post-test design. The population of this research is students in Islamic State School Yogyakarta (MAN), Indonesia. The random sampling technique was used from the three schools of Islamic State Schools. There were 97 students of class XI science at Islamic State School 1 (MAN 1) as participant. The technique of data analysis was used the paired-sample t-test, comparative-descriptive analysis, and ANOVA mixed design using SPSS 24. The study reveals: (1) The OLS-CMPBL group has a significant difference in the level of digital literacy skills (sig .0000); (2) the OLS-CMPBL was most effective to improve the skills with gain score 0.207 (low). Learning with the OLS-CMPBL model can be an alternative for policymakers and teachers to solve the problems of digital literacy.

Abstract

There is limited literature reporting on the use of the Rasch model in analyzing the conceptual understanding of student temperature in Indonesia. There are 58% of Physics Education undergraduate students experience misconceptions on the topic of temperature. Therefore, this study aims to analyze students’ conceptual understanding using a two-level diagnostic instrument. Students’ conceptual understanding was administered through a survey method using a two-level misconception diagnostic instrument. The survey was conducted on 26 students (31% boys and 69% girls) ages ranging from 16 years to 19 years at a public high school. Students’ conceptual understanding of the temperature material was administered using six diagnostic items and analyzed using the Wright map. Data collection has been done online using a Google form distributed through the class WhatsApp group. Data analysis has been carried out in two stages namely, coding students’ answers, and analyzing students’ conceptual understanding. The analysis results showed a shift in the level of conceptual understanding of 50% of students. So, the Wright map provides a visualization of shifts in the level of students’ conceptual understanding of the topic of temperature.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating students’ digital literacy skill of students Grade X and XI in Senior High School in Yogyakarta. There were three steps of this research. First, we constructed the item format and aspect of digital literacy skill. Second, the administration of this research to 193 students of science class in Yogyakarta which were selected randomly. The last, analysis data of students’ digital literacy skill based on educational level. For the profile of students’ digital we used descriptive and quantitative statistics (frequency and percent). To determine the significant difference of the students’ level we also used independent sample t-test. Result of this study showed that the students’ digital literacy skill of all students was very low level. In addition, there was significant difference of students’ digital literacy skill based on educational level. The conclusion was students’ digital literacy skill in Yogyakarta was very low and there must an effort to force these skills. Recommendation for the future study is to develop a learning model that can enhance students’ digital literacy skill. For the policy makers, learning based on digital literacy skill must be integrated on the curriculum. ICT learning should be thought to students in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining the effect of the inquiry training learning model assisted by Google Classroom in improving students' creative thinking skills. This research was quasi-experimental. Total samples were 32 students of SMAN 1 Banguntapan. The instrument test was essay test to measure the creative thinking skills. The first step of study was the given the pretest, then face-to-face learning and online learning at the time agreed upon with students. The final stage was carried out posttest to see the achievement of score after treatment. The results showed that the gain scores of creative thinking skill in students are categorized into three, namely: 62% of students with low category gain scores, 31% of students with moderate category gain scores, and 7% of students with high category gain scores. The average score of gain of creative thinking ability was 0.3 which was in the medium category. Based on these results, further research is needed with an emphasis on optimizing the use of Google Classroom and confirming knowledge construction in face-to-face learning.
