This research aims to describe the contribution of emotional maturity and social support to self-adjustment of santri in Pesantren. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The population of this research was 2,695 santri of the 1st grade in Musthafawiyah Purbabaru Islamic Boarding School. The sample were 349 santri and selected by proportional random sampling. The research findings showed: (1) on average, emotional maturity is in the high level category, (2) social support is also at a high level, (3) the self-adjustment of santri is good category, (4) contribution of emotional maturity towards self-adjustment is 44.3%, (5) contributions of social support toward the self-adjustment is 25.9%, and (6) contributions of emotional maturity and social support to the self-adjustment is 48.3%.

Character as an important result of education seeks so that individuals can understand and behave properly in accordance with moral values in their lives. The character building strategy has been implemented even applied in several researches and studies in universities. One effort to build the right character is done for students through the implementation of ongoing guidance of character values and manifested in behavior. The Real-Life Story (RELIST) model as one of the positive therapeutic interventions is felt to be more appropriately applied also in developing individual character identification of character strengths related to the development of individual strengths or strengths, through a series of structured and systematic activities.

This study was conducted based on the lamentations of the old people about the existence of themselves. The old people cannot accept their changes both physical and psychological.This study aims to describe the self-acceptance of the elderly in terms of gender and place of residence. The study sample consisted of 116 elderly people, 67 elderly people who lived at home and 49 elderly people who lived in the Affectionate Home of Mother Batusangkar. The instrument used is the elderly self-acceptance questionnaire with reliability of 0.840. The results of this study are the self-acceptance of the elderly differs significantly in terms of gender and place of residence and there is an interaction between sex and residence in explaining the self-acceptance of the elderly.

Feelings of inferiority in the individual can interfere with his development. Therefore, it is important to provide treatment through Guidance and Counseling services. In order for the implementation of Guidance and Counseling services to run effectively and efficiently, it is necessary described the inferiority condition of individual accurately. This study aims to describe feelings of inferiority student’s in Islamic Junior High School. The research methodology used is quantitative with a descriptive-analysis. The research instrument used Likert scale model. Research subjects amounted to 38 students. The results showed that the feelings inferiority of student was in a medium category with a persentage 50%.

Di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan ada siswa yang belum mencapai perkembangan karier yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa tentang program studi keahlian yang ditempati dan perencanaan karier siswa serta menguji hubungan antara persepsi siswa tentang program studi keahlian yang ditempati dengan perencanaan karier. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional, dengan sampel 260 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik Proportional Random Sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala model likert. Analisis deskriptif dilakukan dengan menentukan nilai skor dan persentase. Pengujian hipotesis penelitian menggunakan rumus korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan: (1) persepsi siswa tentang program studi keahlian yang ditempati berada pada kategori positif, (2) perencanaan karier siswa berada pada kategori baik, (3) terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara persepsi siswa tentang program studi keahlian yang ditempati dengan perencanaan karier, dengan koefisien korelasi 0,801 pada taraf signifikansi 0,000. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya peningkatan perencanaan karier siswa yang dapat dilakukan antara lain dengan mengubah persepsi siswa tentang program studi keahlian yang ditempatinya.

In adolescence, the competence of interpersonal relations develops and increase. However, students still face some problems during puberty. These include being ostracized, mocking each other, an unpleasant class atmosphere, isolations, and selfishness. To overcome these problems, guiding and counseling services are needed. Nevertheless, for it to be effective, it is important to understand students' interpersonal issues accurately. The purpose of this study therefore was to describe the nature of interpersonal relationships among students in junior high school. The sample population consisted of 133 junior high school students selected by proportional random sampling technique. Furthermore the instrument used is the scale of interpersonal relations with reliability 0.881. Data analysis used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The results therefore showed interpersonal relationships among students were advanced, having an average score of 206.77 and anachievement rate of 78%. The findings of this study might be used by counselors to improve students' interpersonal relationships.

Learning activities are a learning effort by students in physical, mental, intellectual, and emotional aspects from the to hard observed activities that happened inside or outside the classroom. This study describes students learning activities that will impact on student learning outcomes. The method used is descriptive-analysis with a 167 students sample that using proportional random sampling technique, used a questionnaire . The instrument used is a questionnaire. The result of the research is it includes the students learning activities in Junior High school in the medium category which comprises learning activities before learning in school, learning during school, and after learning in school. The implications of this research can be a reference and input for Counselor to improve students learning activities at 19 Junior High school in Bandung.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Group Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy approach in reducing learning burnout experienced by students due to irrational thoughts. This research is a quantitative analysis that uses the method of Quasi-Experiment through the design of The Non-Equivalent Control Group. The subjects in this study were class VIII-1 students as the experimental group and class VIII-8 students as the control group. The instrument used is a learning burnout scale with the validity of 0.273 (Pearson Product Moment) and reliability of 0.936 (Alpha Cronbach). Data analysis was conducted using nonparametric statistics with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov 2 Independent Samples. The results of this study show that the REBT approach in a group setting is effective for reducing student learning burnout. This can be seen from the score of student learning burnout in the experimental group, which experienced a greater and more significant decline than the control group.

Discipline is defined as the compliance with existing rules or regulations with pleasure and self-awareness. It has a huge influence on learning, personal interest, social life and career of students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the disciplinary problems of students at SMAN 2 Padang and ways to improve it using the right counseling approach. Data was analyzed using the quantitative and descriptive methods with a reliability scale of 0.909. The research findings shows the discipline of students in SMAN 2 Padang is in the sufficient category with a percentage of 79.27%in accordancewith established rules. Therefore the Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy group format approach is developed to enhance the problem of proper student discipline.

This research was to describe the educational contribution in family and about being active while participating extracurricular on prosocial behavior of students in SMK Negeri 6 Padang. This research applied descriptive quantitative method. The population was 903 students in X and XI grade at SMK Negeri 6 Padang and 278 students as the sample were selected using proportional random sampling techniques. The instruments used was questionnaire. The data were analyzed with regression statistics, simple and double regressions. The data analysis was assisted using the SPSS 20.0 program. The study showed that: (1) the average of prosocial behavior was in the high category, (2) education in family was in the high category, there were 28% contribution of education in family to prosocial behavior, (3) the activity in participating extracurricular was in the high category, there were 16.2% contributions of activeness to participate in participative extracurricular on students’ prosocial behavior, (4) there were 31.5% contributions of both educational contribution in family and participative extracurricular on students’ prosocial behavior.
