Abstract

The problem of drug abuse has penetrated up to the world of education, including SMP. Many ways that could be used by guidance and counseling teachers or counselors to enhance students' understanding of the dangers of drug abuse, one of them by using the media as an exciting learning modules. Module was one of tools that addresses learning about a subject systematically arranged and sequentially to facilitate students achieve and master a targeted competencies along with guidelines for the use of teachers. This study aimed: (1) to formulate guidance and counseling module for drug abuse prevention in school-appropriate content to be used by guidance and counseling teacher or counselor, and (2) to describe the level of applicability formulation guidance and counseling module for drug abuse prevention in school by guidance and counseling teacher or counselor. This research was conducted using development research methods, with guided model development step ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of the trial research were (1) the content expert, and (2) the target users of the product, was guidance and counseling teacher or counselor, who was taken by using purposive sampling method, in order to obtain test subjects research, namely 3 content experts, and 3 people guidance and counseling teacher or counselor. This study was conducted with a limited research product tested and the data was analyzed descriptively. The results of the research showed that: (1) guidance and counseling module to prevent drug abuse, as a content was very feasible for used by students and guidance and counseling teachers or counselors in implementation of service, (2) the level of guidance module and counseling applicability to prevent of drug abuse rated very high for used by students. Based on these results of the research, generally, it could be concluded that the research products produced were feasible and could be used to help students in the context of prevention of drug abuse in schools. Finally the research product was highly recommended to be introduced and used by guidance and counseling teacher or counselor at school in SMP.

Abstract

This article focuses on the development of, and research about, a strong democracy education intervention, the Just Community approach. Three questions frame the discussion: 1) Does Just Community change student or do student in these program change their school? 2) How Just Community change student and how Just Community change their school? 3) How can democracy be 'learned' by student in these program? This article begins with a brief history of the Just Community approach, a description of the original developmental model created by Lawrence Kohlberg, some research has been created in European and US. Just Community’s theoretical basis: Piaget’s cognitive development theory and Durkheim’s view of collective socialization. How to run this program? The aim of the program and implementation for education.

Abstract

The homeroom teacher has a greater daily intensity contact with students than the counselor teacher.  The study aimed to describe the homeroom teacher role in Guidance and Counseling services at school. This research used descriptive quantitative research method. The subjects in this study were 24 homeroom teachers at Junior High School 25 Padang in the 2021/2022 school year. The data were collected by questionnaires on the homeroom teacher role in Guidance and Counseling services at the school. The result showed that the role of the homeroom teacher in Guidance and Counseling services in schools as a whole was in the high category which broken down into eight aspects: 1) Helping counselor teacher carried out their duties, was in the high category. 2) Helping counselor teacher identified students who needed BK services, was in the high category. 3) Transferring students who needed counseling services from counselor teacher, was in the high category. 4) Accepting the transferred students from counselor teacher who required special training services such as enrichment, was in the high category. 5) Helping in developing a classroom atmosphere; teacher-student relationships, and student-student relationships that supported the implementation of counseling services, was in the high category. 6) Helping in providing opportunities and convenience to students who needed counseling services, was in the high category. 7) Participating in counseling activities, especially in handling student problem such as case conferences, this was in the high category. 8) Assisting in collecting the information needed in the context of evaluating counseling services as a follow-up effort, was in the very high category. Based on the results of this study, the suggested services that can be provided to increase the role of the homeroom teacher in the implementation of Guidance and Counseling were information services that mastering individual counseling content and services.

Abstract

Learning skills is demands that must be possessed by students to achieve maximum learning outcomes. This study aims to reveal the picture of students' learning skills in junior high school 25 Padang state. This research uses the quantitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The sample consisted of 31 students of class VIII selected at random. The instrument used is a learning skill questionnaire with a reliability of 0.754. The results showed that the students' learning skill was in the high category with an average score of 144 with the achievement level of 76%.

Abstract

Self-directed learning is where individuals learn on an initiative without expecting the help of others to achieve their learning goals. However, it was found that students did not want to learn directly, did not have the initiative in doing assignments, rarely used existing books, did not take advantage of school facilities and some students  often cheated on their friends' assignments. This is caused by various factors such as adversity quotient and learning environment.This study aims to analyze the relationship between adversity quotient and learning environment with self-directed learning. This study uses a descriptive correlational quantitative method. The research sample was students of class X and XI of SMA Negeri 13 Padang totaling 249 students, taken using a proportional random sampling technique. This study uses the adversity quotient instrument, learning environment, and self-directed learning. Data were analyzed by simple regression and multiple regression.The results of this study indicate that on average the adversity quotient is in the high category, the learning environment is in a good category, the self-directed learning is in a good category, there is a positive and significant relationship between the adversity quotient and self-directed learning, between the learning environment and self-directed learning, and between adversity quotient and learning environment with self-directed learning.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the contribution of self-esteem and social support of  parents together on the academic resilience of students in online learning. This research uses a descriptive correlational quantitative method. The research population was 304 students of SMA Negeri Agam Cendekia, with a sample of 173 students, who were selected using the proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instruments used were inventory self-esteem, parents social support scale, and academic resilience scale with a Likert model, that had met the validity and reliability requirements. The research data were analyzed using simple regression techniques and multiple regression. The results of this research indicate that: (1) on average selfesteem, parents social support and student academic resilience in online learning at SMA Negeri Agam Cendekia are in the medium category, (2) self-esteem contributes 43% to academic resilience in online learning . (3) parents social support contributed 56,8% to academic resilience in online learning . (4) self-esteem and parental social support together contribute 65% to academic resilience in online learning . The implications of the research results can be used as a basis in the preparation of guidance and counseling service programs at SMA Negeri Agam Cendekia.

Abstract

One of the factors that influence career planning is interest in majors and self-confidence. This study aims to analyze the relationship between interest in majors and self-confidence with career planning. Methods This research uses a descriptive correlational quantitative method. The research population was the XI grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang as many as 246 students and the research sample amounted to 153 students. Sampling using proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used is a Likert Scale model. The research data were analyzed by simple regression and multiple regression. The results of this study indicate that, in general, interest in majors is in the high category, self-confidence is in the high category, student career planning is in the high category, there is a significant relationship between interest in majors and student career planning, there is a significant relationship between trust There is a significant relationship between interest in majors and self-confidence with students' career planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze school well-being, emotional intelligence and student engagement in learning. The research was conducted using descriptive quantitative methods. The study population was 768 students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang and the research sample consisted of 201 students who were taken using random sampling technique. The instruments that used were arranged based on the constructs of the three variables, namely school well-being, emotional intelligence and student engagement in learning that had met the validity and reliability requirements. The research data were analyzed using simple regression and multiple regression. The findings of the study show that: (1) in average, student engagement in learning is in the high category, (2) school well-being and emotional intelligence are also in the high category, (3) the contribution of school well-being to student engagement in learning by 48.2%, (4) the contribution of emotional intelligence to student engagement in learning by 57%, and (5) the contribution of school well-being and emotional intelligence together to student engagement in learning by 62.1%. The implications of the research results can be used as a basis in the preparation of guidance and counseling service programs.

Abstract

Disiplin didefinisikan sebagai sikap mental yang menggambarkan ketaatan, kerelaan, kesadaran dan tanggung jawab individu maupun kelompok untuk melakukan tugas dan kewajiban berdasarkan aturan-aturan yang telah disepakati. Sebagai aspek penting yang mesti dimiliki oleh setiap siswa, peran konselor sangat diperlukan bagi pengembangan dan/atau peningkatan disiplin siswa. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa tentang peran konselor dalam meningkatkan disiplin siswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh setelah 246 siswa SMAN 1 Lintau, Sumatera Barat, menyelesaikan skala pengukuran persepsi siswa tentang peran konselor untuk meningkatkan disiplin siswa yang disusun berdasarkan model skala Likert. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah siswa berpersepsi bahwa konselor belum berperan secara optimal dalam meningkatkan disiplin siswa.

Abstract

Resilience by disaster need to be grown in individual’s self in order that does not become problem in the development of individual to become a better person. Many factors affect resilience, including gender, cultural background and attachment of parents. This study aims to test the relevancy of resilience with several factors. This research uses quantitative approach with comparative descriptive method. The population  is 912 students with a sample amounts 278 students with using Proportional Random Sampling. The instrument used is Likert scale model. Data were analyzed by three way ANOVA technique. The results showed that gender and attachment of parents affect individual’s resilience while culture significantly has no relevance resilience. The implications of this research will be discussed.
