Abstract

One of the impacts of The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) on Indonesia is the change in the curriculum in the Indonesian education system. The curriculum that is implemented today, emphasizes students on 21st century skills and the change from teacher center to student center. The reality in the field, learning Physics in class  shows that teachers still approach directly and involve students less in the learning process so that students are less motivated in learning which makes learning outcomes low. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the problem based learning model with concept map on physics students achievement. This type of research is quasi experimental design. The instrument used in this study is a test instrument. The results showed that the average score of students in the experimental class of 63.88 was higher than the sample class of 59.21. Accompanied by quiz data, it also showed that the average score of the experimental class was higher than the control class at each meeting. The results of the hypothesis test obtained by the zcalculate >z table are 7.16>1.96 so that it can be said to reject Ho accept H1. Thus, the application of the PBL model accompanied by concept maps can be used and applied to students so that their learning outcomes increase

Abstract

Needs analysis becomes an empirical basis for developing research. Data and studies are produced from a complete needs analysis in producing the right product. In this study the analysis was conducted as a preliminary study to reveal the needs of stake holders for CTL-based videos for fluid material. Applied survey research methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Research objects related to student characteristics, learning resources, teaching materials and learning media. Quantitative and qualitative data collection procedures use questionnaire and interview instruments. Technical analysis of quantitative dataprocess and categorize data while qualitative data reduces, presents and verifies data. Obtained the results of student characteristics are good, but the aspect of interest shows the lowest value, especially solving and finding solutions to problems of daily life. The media teachers use to teach fluids are powerpoints, images and videos. Learning resources are only textbooks equipped with teaching materials in the form of encyclopedias, modules and worksheets that contain a collection of questions that do not provide experience in solving everyday problems. These findings indicate that the cause of the lack of student interest in solving everyday problems and the low student learning outcomes is that learning media is not in accordance with needs. Media is needed that can facilitate students solving everyday problems. Fluid material that has many daily applications, media needed in the form of CTL-based video. Besides CTL-based videos can display phenomena in full, videos can also develop students' higher-order thinking skills by thoroughly analyzing the phenomena that are displayed

Abstract

Science and technology continue to experience developments in education at the school level, giving rise to demands and improvements in the learning process. In the 21st century, students need the right learning resources in order to understand the lesson well. It is necessary to do a needs analysis to develop learning media. This study aims to analyze the need for e-module development for physics learning. The urgency of this research is due to the difficulties faced by students in understanding physics concepts and solving physics problems. The problem discussed in this study is the need for effective learning media that can improve learning outcomes and students' interest in physics. The solution proposed is the development of an e-module learning physics on static electricity that can help students understand concepts and improve problem solving and critical thinking skills. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. Research data collection instruments in the form of a questionnaire analysis of teacher needs, and a questionnaire analysis of student needs. The results of this study are the use of learning media on static electricity material in the four schools is very low. They only rely on textbooks as the only source in the learning process, so that students in the four schools may experience limitations in the exposure of information and learning experiences. Limitations in the use of textbooks can hinder creativity, interactivity, and in-depth understanding in learning, so it is necessary to develop e-modules as learning media for this material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the media and learning resources used in 6 public and private high schools to explain the 12th-grade Physics material of Direct Current (DC) circuits and to analyze the media and learning resources with the potential for development in teaching Physics, particularly in the topic of DC circuits, in these six schools. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach, and the instrument used was a questionnaire. The data were obtained from the distribution of questionnaires, with 282 respondents from 6 different schools. The collected data were analyzed by calculating the percentage of media and learning resources used by the six schools. The results showed that the learning media with the highest percentage is "other media," including print media (textbooks), whiteboards, and direct explanations by teachers, with 40.46%. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage is for PhET at 10.54%. Regarding learning resources, printed books have the highest percentage at 44.98% and the lowest for modules at 9.17%. In conclusion, the most widely used media by the six schools to explain DC circuits are print media (textbooks), whiteboards, and direct explanations by teachers. The most commonly used learning resource is printed books. Additionally, the media with the potential for development is PhET, and the learning resource with development potential is modules. This is because these media and learning resources are still underutilized in the six public and private high schools when explaining DC circuits. This research provides insights into the needed media and learning resources, their limited availability, and their potential for development in teaching DC circuits in these six public and private high schools.
