Abstract

The implementation of the problem-based learning model needs to be known through information from students as subjects. This is so that teachers can build students' insight into teaching and learning activities. Measuring students' perceptions about the implementation of the problem-based learning model needs to be developed. In measuring student perceptions, a standardized measuring instrument in the form of a questionnaire is needed. The questionnaire covers several aspects, namely aspects of student learning activities, aspects of objectives, and aspects of benefits which were then developed into 54 statement items. Validity and reliability testing aims to ensure that the questionnaire instrument can be used properly during research. Instrument development consists of 4 stages, namely planning, construction, quantitative evaluation, and validation. The validity test uses product moment correlation, while the reliability test uses Croanbach's alpha. Instrument testing involved 56 respondents. From the test results, 54 items were declared valid, with a calculated correlation value above > 3,102, which means the criteria are valid. Meanwhile, for the reliability test on 54 items, the calculated Croanbach's alpha value was greater than the Croanbach's alpha table, amounting to 0,982 > 0,70, which means the criteria are reliable. Based on the results of validity and reliability tests, it was concluded that the instrument had met the feasibility of measuring student perceptions regarding the implementation of the problem-based learning model in physics learning.

Abstract

21st century education requires students to master Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Based on a survey at SMAN 13 Padang, it is known that students' HOTS is still relatively low. One of the reasons is that the use of learning media has not facilitated students' HOTS. HOTS can be improved by using contextual-based learning videos and reinforced with problem-based learning models. This study aims to see the effect of using contextual-based motion dynamics learning videos on students' HOTS. This research is a pseudo-experimental research, posttest-only control design. The population of this research is the entire class XI Phase F SMAN 13 Padang in the 2023/2024 academic year studying physics. The sampling was done using purposive sampling technique.  This study used class XI F3 as the experimental class and class XI F7 as the control class. The data in this study is HOTS data. The research instrument is a written test in the form of an essay totaling 6 questions. The results showed that the average HOTS in the experimental class was higher than the control class. The results of the hypothesis test in the form of a t test with a 5% level obtained t_count = 4,72   and dan t_table=1,997,, meaning that the price of t_count  is in the H_o rejection area so that H_I is accepted at a real level of 0.05. Thus, it shows that there is an effect of using contextual-based motion dynamics learning videos on HOTS of SMA Negeri 13 Padang students.

Abstract

In today's developments, the role of educators is not only needed in terms of sharing knowledge with students but also in preparing teaching media and materials that can help accelerate the delivery of material. The purpose of this study was to explore the needs analysis in developing physics e-modules on work and energy material for class X Senior High School. This study employed surveys under quantitative and qualitative approaches. There were 153 students involved in this study. The quantitative data were collected through learning resources and learning media instruments, while qualitative data were collected using interview instruments, questionnaires, observation, analysis of procedures and survey document. The results of this study showed that most of the learning resources and teaching materials used by teachers in schools were printed books with a score of 81%, and the most frequently used media in teaching was PowerPoint media with a score of 41.67%. This fact resulted in the lack of students’ interest in solving everyday problems and low students’ learning outcomes. In other words, the learning media used in the classroom did not suit their needs, so the development of teaching materials and media is needed to facilitate students in learning activities independently. Teaching Work and Energy materials that are widely applied in everyday life requires media in the form of physics e-modules. The development of physics e-modules on work and energy materials can overcome the problems found in the classroom, especially when teaching that material.
