Abstract

Education is basically an investment in human resource development that is indispensable in society. One of the important skills that must be possessed in the era of globalization is the ability to solve problems. Students are considered to be able to solve problems if they are able to understand, choose strategies, and then apply them in problem solving. But in reality, students' problem-solving skills are still low. Therefore, learning resources are needed that can train problem-solving skills. One of the learning resources that can be developed is electronic enrichment books. This study uses the R&D research method. The model used in this study is the 4-D model. The population in this study is 78 students in grade XI Phase F for the 2024/2025 school year. The sample of this study was carried out by random sampling with the research subject of physics lecturers of FMIPA UNP with a total of 3 lecturers. Based on the results of the research of the electronic enrichment book entitled "Sitinjau Lauik from the Perspective of Physics" which was developed, a validity score was obtained from 3 experts with an average score of 0.82 with very valid criteria. Based on this, electronic enrichment books that are developed and arranged in such a way can be used as a physics learning resource that trains the problem-solving skills of high school students.

Abstract

In the process of learning physics, teachers can still not develop ICT-based learning media using Macromedia flash software that is effective and efficient. It is necessary to analyze articles from the results of previous studies to understand the right media for learning physics. This research was conducted to know what types of research have been carried out in the development of physics learning media using Macromedia flash software and to analyze the effect size of the influence of physics learning media using Macromedia flash software in terms of student learning outcomes based on education level, type of media developed and learning materials. The type of research used is a meta-analysis study. The subjects of this research are 21 articles on the development of physics learning media using Macromedia flash software in terms of student learning outcomes that have been tested in class published in 2011-2020. The data used in this study is a quantitative analysis by calculating the effect size using statistical parameters. The result of the research is that the best effectiveness of physics learning media using Macromedia flash software in terms of student learning outcomes based on education level is in Higher Education. The best effectiveness of the media in terms of student learning outcomes based on the type of media developed is multimedia. The best effectiveness of physics learning media in student learning outcomes based on learning materials is on motion material. It can be concluded that Multimedia that uses Macromedia flash software is a medium that can help students in learning.

Abstract

Twenty first century learning demands that students possess critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. However, physics education in Indonesia particularly in the topic of renewable energy is still conducted using conventional methods and lacks active student involvement. In fact, this topic has the potential to foster higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the need for the development of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) based Electronic Student Worksheet (E-SWS) to improve students' problem-solving abilities. A needs analysis was conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of the learning conditions, challenges encountered, and appropriate teaching material specifications. The method used was descriptive with a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach, utilizing questionnaires and interviews. The research findings indicate that: (1) students feel bored and unmotivated when learning physics; (2) the learning models and media used are not optimal in enhancing understanding and thinking skills; (3) the teaching materials, particularly the student worksheets, are not yet technology-based and the content is inadequate; and (4) students’ problem-solving abilities are still low, reaching only 38.9%. These findings highlight the need to develop a PBL-based E-SWS as a solution to enhance students’ learning interest and problem-solving skills in the digital era

Abstract

Twenty first century education requires students to possess critical thinking skills as part of their core competencies. This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on improving students’ critical thinking skills in both affective and cognitive domains. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, and the sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used were observation sheets and tests designed to measure critical thinking skills in both domains. The results showed a significant improvement in students' affective and cognitive abilities after the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. In the affective domain, the average score increased from 67.50 to 83.33, with an N-Gain of 0.487 (moderate category) and an Effect Size of 1.174 (high impact). The cognitive domain showed improvement across four critical thinking indicators, with an average N-Gain of 0.660 (moderate) and an Effect Size of 5.633 (high). The hypothesis test result (th = 30.854 > tt = 2.045) indicating a significant influence of the Discovery Learning model on the development of students’ critical thinking skills. Thus, the implementation of the Discovery Learning model is proven effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in both affective and cognitive aspects.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Problem Based Learning (PBL) based e-module on fluid materials to facilitate students' science explanation skills. This skill is essential to help students construct knowledge, connect scientific concepts, and present understanding logically and based on evidence. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the Dick & Carey development model. The limited trial subjects are high school grade XI students with a total of 30 participants. The validation results by material and media experts showed that the e-module is feasible to use with very good quality. Field trials indicate that the e-module is capable of improving students' abilities in explaining fluid concepts scientifically. Thus, this PBL-based e-module is effective as an alternative learning media that supports the strengthening of 21st-century science skills, particularly the ability to explain scientifically.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the characteristics of students in physics learning, focusing on learning motivation, learning styles, and learning experiences. The research employs a descriptive method with a questionnaire as the instrument, distributed to 54 high school student respondents in Padang City. The data is analyzed quantitatively based on the percentage score for each indicator. The results show that students' learning motivation falls into the good category (73%), the most dominant learning style is kinesthetic (75%), and learning experiences indicate that the use of smartphones and whiteboards has the highest percentage (74%). It can be concluded that the characteristics of students demonstrate good learning motivation, diverse learning style preferences with kinesthetic and audio-visual tendencies, and learning experiences that have started to utilize information technology. It is suggested to develop more interactive learning strategies, integrate various learning media, and accommodate diverse learning styles to enhance the effectiveness of physics learning.

Abstract

TThe COVID-19 pandemic, Industrial Revolution 4.0, and Society 5.0 have caused significant changes in various aspects of life, including education. This research aims to determine what media are used in physics learning, what kind of media students like and need in implementing physics learning. This quantitative descriptive research describes the existence of media in physics learning based on the answers of respondents consisting of 54 high school students in the city of Padang. The research instrument employed is a Google Form questionnaire validated by experts in learning media development. The media most often used in physics learning is the whiteboard, while the media least frequently used is the virtual laboratory. The media that is most popular with students in learning physics is experimental tools, while the media that is least popular is the whiteboard. The media that students need most in learning physics are experimental tools, while tutorial videos are the ones that are least needed. The results of this research can be used as a reference for schools in developing learning media that suit the needs of students and teachers.

Abstract

Since scientific knowledge is the foundation of daily living in the twenty-first century, science literacy is a crucial ability for pupils. But the level of scientific literacy of some students in Indonesia is still low. The test results at SMAN 12 Padang showed that pupils’ level of science literacy wa really low. The fact that instructors’ instructional resources are still not geared toward improving students’ science literacy is one of the reasons why science literacy remains low. One way to increase science literacy is to use context-based physics learning e-modules that are able to connect science concepts with real everyday topics or problems. This research seeks to determine the effects of utilizing optical instrument e-modules on the science literacy of class XI students of SMAN 12 Padang. This study used a control group in a quasi-experimental setup that is only tested after the test. The participants in this study were SMAN 12 Padang class XI Mipa students. The sampling process used the purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study was 35 students of class XI Mipa 3 and 36 students of class XI Mipa 4. The study’s findings come from the science literacy abilities of the students. Aspects of students' science literacy skills include science competencies, knowledge, context, and attitudes. Data collection was carried out by descriptive tests of 11 questions and questionnaires. The instruments utilized in this investigation were written tests in the form of questionnaires and descriptive inquiries. The hypothesis test’s findings yielded a computed tvalue = 4.007 and a t table value = 1.995 at a significance level of α = 0.05. Because the hypothesis is accepted at a significance level of 0.05. Considering the outcomes, it can be said thet using e-module optical instruments has a beneficial influence on the scientific knowledge of class XI Mipa students of SMAN 12 Padang.

Abstract

This research study conducted based on the problem in the students’ vocabulary in English.  The aim is to know the enhancing of students’ vocabulary acquisition by using interactive posters. The Class Action Research (CAR) used to investigate the students’ vocabulary start from pre-test until post-test. There are 32 students as sample. The multiple-choice written test gave to students as instrument and analyzed based on statistical formula of CAR. The research finding showed that the means score of students’ vocabulary acquisition was 47.4 in pre-test, 68 in post-test cycle 1 and 83 in cycle 2. The improvement from pre-test to post-test was 74.7% and the KKM achievement was 87.5%. Based on the finding, the interactive poster significantly effects to the students’ vocabulary acquisition.  This kind of teaching media was recommended to be applied in teaching and learning process of vocabulary mastery in English language lesson.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi menuntut pengembangan bahan ajar digital interaktif untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang kontekstual. Pendidikan Pancasila di sekolah dasar memerlukan strategi pembelajaran yang mampu menghubungkan nilai-nilai Pancasila dengan pengalaman sehari-hari siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Bahan Ajar Digital Berbasis Powerpoint Interaktif Pada Materi Makna Sila-Sila Pancasila di Masyarakat Untuk Siswa Kelas IV SD. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 3 tahapan yaitu: tahapan analysis, tahapan design dan tahapan development. Sumber data pada penelitian ini yaitu melibatkan 6 validator ahli yang terdiri dari 2 ahli materi, 2 ahli bahasa dan 2 ahli desain. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar angket validasi ahli. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan berupa statistik deskriptif dengan menggunakan skala likert. Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket yang diberikan kepada ahli materi, ahli desain, dan ahli bahasa untuk menguji kelayakan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah hasil validitas terhadap bahan ajar digital berbasis powerpoint interaktif ini divalidasikan dengan ahli materi, ahli desain, dan ahli bahasa dimana meliputi 6 validator untuk mengetahui layak dan maksimalnya powerpoint interaktif yang telah dikembangkan, maka powerpoint interaktif ini sudah mencapai tingkat kevalidan yaitu sangat valid. Hasil validasi ahli materi diperoleh persentase sebesar 94,25% dengan kategori sangat valid, ahli bahasa diperoleh persentase 95,33% dengan kategori sangat valid dan ahli desain diperoleh persentase 95% dengan kategori sangat valid.
