Abstract

Cancer that is detected early has the possibility to get better treatment. The problem of breast cancer is even bigger because more than 70% of sufferers come to the doctor at an advanced stage, therefore it requires special treatment. Breast cancer can be found early with a BSE examination. BSE is very important because almost 85% of breast lumps are found by sufferers themselves. The purpose of this Community Service is to increase the knowledge of students at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli Regency about early detection of breast cancer using the BSE technique. Methods used include lectures, questions, answers, discussions, and demonstrations of BSE techniques. The targets were 55 female students at SMK 1 Negeri 1 Tolitoli. From the results of the post-test carried out, it was found that the average knowledge of female students increased from 40 to 80. As for the behavior in the pretest, it was found that <T Mean became >T Mean during the post-test. It can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge and behavior changes in female students after education.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is an emergency condition that can be life-threatening and result in death if not treated immediately. Cardiac arrest can occur in various locations, from those that cannot be anticipated (outside the hospital) to those that can be anticipated (for example; intensive care room). When there is a victim of cardiac arrest, people who are near the victim have a very big role in carrying out CPR quickly. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an important determinant in the survival of cardiac arrest victims. This is the basis that everyone must know and understand the basic life support needed if a cardiac arrest occurs. This community service activity aims to increase the readiness of the cloud community to carry out basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Using lecture methods, question and answer, discussion and simulation. The target of this community service activity is ordinary people in Tolitoli Regency, totaling 65 people. From the results of the post-test carried out, there was an increase in knowledge from an average score of 25 during the pre-test, increasing to 75 during the post-test. It can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge and skills in ordinary people after education and simulations are carried out.

Abstract

Pregnant women experiencing malnutrition at Puskesmas Baolan represent a pressing issue requiring special attention. Therefore, an intervention in the form of education is essential. The goal of this Community Service (Pengabdian Masyarakat or Pengabmas) activity is to enhance the knowledge of pregnant women regarding nutrition during pregnancy, enabling them to comprehend and fulfill their nutritional requirements during the gestation period, ultimately aiding in the prevention of stunting. This activity is executed through a lecture method employing tools such as Power Point and projection devices like infocus/LCD, along with question-and-answer sessions and discussions. The target audience for this endeavor comprises 58 pregnant women in Kelurahan Nalu, within the jurisdiction of Puskesmas Baolan, Tolitoli Regency. The results of the post-test conducted showed an increase in knowledge from 52% to 84%. While attitudes increased from 86% to 100%. In conclusion, it can be deduced that this educational initiative enhances the knowledge and alters the attitudes of pregnant women regarding nutrition during pregnancy. It is hoped that midwives and responsible parties involved in the nutrition program at Puskesmas Baolan can provide education on maternal nutrition at least monthly to improve pregnant. Women's understanding of meeting their nutritional requirements during the pregnancy period.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health issues stem from a lack of information, understanding, and awareness, leading to risky sexual behaviors. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of reproductive health education using videos and booklets on the behavior of Class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Tolitoli. A quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-test and control group was employed. The sample consisted of 138 students divided into two groups: video (n=69) and booklet (n=69). Behavior was measured before and 30 days after the intervention using a validated questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. In the video group, mean knowledge increased from 00.00 to 24.50, mean attitude from 00.00 to 13.50, and mean action from 00.00 to 22.50. In the booklet group, mean knowledge increased from 15.00 to 16.11, mean attitude from 00.00 to 12.00, and mean action from 11.50 to 13.06. No significant difference in student behavior was found between the video and booklet groups (p<0.05). Education using videos and booklets was equally effective in changing student behavior. These findings highlight the importance of providing comprehensive reproductive health education to adolescents using engaging media to promote healthy behaviors and prevent risky sexual practices.

The learning model has a central role in the learning process of students and requires a touch of teacher creativity pedagogy in developing learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the application of the cash method-based social studies learning model as an effort to improve the critical pedagogy of students, and to determine the advantages of the cash method-based social studies learning model in improving the critical pedagogy of students. The research method used is the library research method by involving searching, researching and analyzing literature relevant to the research. Data analysis techniques use a content analysis model with steps to determine the design, search for basic data, and search for consequential knowledge. The results showed that the application of the case method-based social studies learning model as an effort to improve the critical pedagogy of students in junior high school was carried out by social studies teachers with three stages being the organization stage, group work, evaluation and the awarding stage. The advantages of the case method model are: training analytical and problem-solving skills, improving critical thinking skills, collobirative learning, helping to link theory with practice and developing communication skills. This research is expected to be the basis for social studies teachers in developing students' critical pedagogy in real terms and providing opportunities to improve students' skills, namely creative skills, critical thinking skills, communication skills, dan collaboration skills.

Abstract

Annyorong Lopi is a form of gratitude from boat owners and craftsmen for the completion of the boat.This research aims to find out the rituals carried out by the Bontobahari community, with the aim of uncovering the symbolic meaning, impact of the ritual, and the religious perspective that accompanies its implementation. The research methodology used is qualitative-descriptive, using a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out through three methods, namely interview sessions, field observations, and ritual documentation. The data was analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The research results reveal that: 1) Rituals have meaning in warding off negative influences and warding off disasters, the implementation of which includes various stages that reflect gratitude for the opportunity to carry out traditions and the various values therein. 2) Rituals have a broad impact on the construction of pinisi boats, including physical, spiritual and symbolic aspects. 3)The implementation of the ritual adheres to the religious beliefs of the surrounding community. Drawing on prayers from the Quran, the ritual is conducted in accordance with Islamic teachings while preserving the cultural identity and ancestral traditions of the Bontobahari community. This ritual exemplifies the harmony between tradition, ancestral beliefs, and religion in the lives of the Bontobahari community.

Abstract

This study examines the performance analysis of game-based learning systems. The qualitative research method with a qualitative descriptive approach allows researchers to explore in-depth understanding and explain the meaning of the phenomena studied, especially in the context of performance game-based learning. By collecting data through a questionnaire, this study evaluates students' perceptions of game-based learning systems. The study results showed that the average flat student responds positively to game-based system learning. This has been proven to increase students' interest, motivation, understanding, and skills. Thus, it is essential to consider its potential negative impacts and implement them responsibly and effectively through system, learning, and implementation games.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of information technology in interactive learning among college students. Data was obtained through the questionnaire, showing that information technology in interactive learning is very effective. Most students responded positively to accessibility, flexibility, interactivity, engagement, self-support, and variety of learning materials. Expressly, 100% of students agreed with the questions about these benefits. However, there were differences of opinion on several aspects. Regarding the suitability of learning speed and style, only 72.7 % of students felt that this system was suitable for their needs, while 27.3% thought it needed more. In addition, 90.9 % of students stated the ease of use and effectiveness of interaction, but some were still dissatisfied with these aspects. The conclusion of this study shows that although most students feel positive benefits from using information technology in learning, several areas need improvement, such as adjusting the speed and style of knowledge and the system's ease of use. Recommendations from this study include increasing system flexibility, optimizing interface design, and providing additional support for students. These findings can be a reference for developers of interactive learning systems and educational institutions who want to integrate information technology into the learning process more effectively.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan judul “Pemberdayaan Guru dalam Manajemen Konflik Sosial di SMP Islam Al-Wasi’, Kecamatan Marusu, Kabupaten Maros” dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi lingkungan sekolah yang mencerminkan kompleksitas interaksi sosial masyarakat yang lebih luas. Beragamnya latar belakang sosial, budaya, dan karakter siswa sering kali menimbulkan potensi konflik yang, apabila tidak ditangani dengan tepat, dapat memengaruhi kenyamanan dan efektivitas proses belajar mengajar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal dan diskusi dengan pihak sekolah, ditemukan bahwa sebagian besar guru masih mengalami kesulitan dalam menangani konflik sosial di kelas akibat keterbatasan pemahaman mengenai teknik penyelesaian konflik dan minimnya pelatihan terkait. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas dan kompetensi guru dalam mengelola konflik sosial di lingkungan sekolah melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan yang komprehensif. Program dirancang untuk membekali guru dengan pemahaman teoretis dan keterampilan praktis dalam mengenali, mencegah, serta menyelesaikan konflik menggunakan pendekatan mediasi, komunikasi empatik, dan metode restoratif. Dengan peningkatan kemampuan ini, diharapkan guru dapat menciptakan iklim kelas yang lebih harmonis, membangun hubungan positif antarwarga sekolah, serta menurunkan angka perundungan (bullying) yang selama ini masih ditemukan di lingkungan sekolah. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga diarahkan untuk menghasilkan produk intelektual berupa modul atau panduan praktis manajemen konflik sekolah, yang dapat dijadikan referensi bagi sekolah lain dalam menangani persoalan serupa. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan guru secara aktif dalam simulasi dan studi kasus nyata, kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan individual, tetapi juga memperkuat budaya kolaboratif di lingkungan sekolah. Dengan demikian, program ini diharapkan memberikan dampak berkelanjutan dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang aman, nyaman, dan berkarakter, sekaligus mendukung pencapaian Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) perguruan tinggi dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat.
