Abstract

This study investigates the transformation process of Islamic knowledge and values within Kitab Kuning learning at Dayah Darussalam Lampoh Tuah Grong Grong, focusing on how traditional Islamic educational institutions in Aceh navigate the digital age while maintaining their academic rigor and spiritual core. Across most dayah in Aceh, students are prohibited from using mobile phones, while digital technology access remains limited to educators (asatidz), religious scholars (teungku), and advanced students for educational, administrative, or instructional purposes. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach supported by fieldwork observations and interviews, this study reveals that digital transformation in dayah education unfolds selectively and value-driven. Technology serves as a supplementary pedagogical resource for teachers rather than a central learning platform for students. Conventional instructional methods including halaqah (study circles), boh bareh (diacritical marking), syarah (interpretive exposition), and muthala'ah (self-directed reading) remain the cornerstone of knowledge transmission. Concurrently, digital instruments are utilized to enhance reference materials, boost efficiency, and support educators in content delivery. The restriction on mobile phone usage among students contributes to maintaining discipline, focus, and reverence for knowledge, fostering deep intellectual and spiritual development. Thus, the evolution of Kitab Kuning education within the digital landscape represents an ethical modernization approach—rooted in Islamic moral principles, humility, and the pursuit of blessed knowledge (barakah al-'ilm). This framework demonstrates the endurance and ongoing significance of Aceh's dayah institutions as custodians of classical Islamic learning amid swift global technological advancement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan media audiovisual dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Kajian dilakukan dengan metode library research melalui analisis terhadap berbagai sumber literatur dan hasil penelitian dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa media audiovisual memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan motivasi, keaktifan, dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penggunaan media ini memungkinkan guru menjelaskan konsep-konsep keagamaan yang bersifat abstrak seperti akidah, akhlak, dan sejarah Islam secara lebih konkret dan menarik. Selain meningkatkan pemahaman kognitif, media audiovisual juga membantu pembentukan karakter dan penghayatan nilai-nilai spiritual peserta didik melalui tayangan yang menggugah aspek emosional. Namun, efektivitas penerapannya bergantung pada kesiapan guru, ketersediaan sarana, dan relevansi konten dengan nilai-nilai Islam. Diperlukan peningkatan kompetensi digital guru serta dukungan kelembagaan dalam penyediaan fasilitas dan pelatihan. Dengan demikian, media audiovisual dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran inovatif yang interaktif, kontekstual, dan berorientasi pada penguatan iman serta akhlak peserta didik.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas hubungan antara agama dan kepribadian manusia dalam perspektif psikologi agama melalui pendekatan kajian pustaka (library research). Fokus utama kajian ini adalah menelusuri bagaimana religiusitas memengaruhi pembentukan diri manusia — baik dari sisi moral, emosional, maupun spiritual. Agama tidak hanya dipahami sebagai sistem kepercayaan, tetapi juga sebagai kekuatan psikologis yang menata arah hidup, mengendalikan perilaku, serta membentuk keseimbangan kepribadian. Melalui telaah atas pemikiran tokoh-tokoh seperti William James, Gordon Allport, Al-Ghazali, dan Ibnu Miskawaih, kajian ini menemukan bahwa pengalaman spiritual dan internalisasi nilai-nilai agama memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk keutuhan diri, kedewasaan moral, dan kesejahteraan psikologis individu. Di tengah tantangan modernisasi dan krisis identitas yang dihadapi manusia masa kini, religiusitas berfungsi sebagai sumber makna dan mekanisme koping yang membantu individu menghadapi tekanan hidup dengan tenang dan berorientasi nilai. Dengan demikian, psikologi agama menawarkan kerangka konseptual yang kaya untuk memahami bagaimana agama berkontribusi terhadap pembentukan kepribadian yang utuh — sehat secara mental, matang secara moral, dan tenang secara spiritual

Abstract

This study examines the optimization of mobile phones as an effective medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMA 1 Baitussalam, Aceh, Indonesia, focusing on their benefits, challenges, and strategies to overcome obstacles in the digital era. Employing a descriptive qualitative method grounded in postpositivism, data were collected through triangulation techniques including observations, interviews, and documentation over two months. Participants included 3 PAI teachers, 12 eleventh-grade students, and the school principal. The findings reveal that mobile phones facilitate access to digital PAI textbooks, additional references like Qur'anic interpretations, Islamic educational apps (e.g., MyQuran, Google Classroom), discussion platforms, and educational videos on YouTube, promoting flexible and interactive learning aligned with the school's vision of faith, character, and global readiness. However, strict school regulations, including teacher supervision and sanctions, are implemented to prevent misuse, such as accessing social media or games. Key challenges include limited internet access and data quotas, distractions from notifications, and teachers' inadequate digital skills. To optimize mobile phones in PAI, recommendations include providing school internet facilities, teacher training in digital tools, and ethical guidelines for students. This research contributes practical insights for PAI educators, schools, and policymakers to integrate technology wisely, addressing gaps in PAI-specific digital education literature and supporting national educational goals amid globalization.

Abstract

This study explores the vital role of teachers as primary role models, or uswah hasanah, in the process of internalizing moral values ​​in the school environment. The main focus of the study is directed at the influence of educators' personal integrity on the formation of character identity and the overall psychological development of students amidst the dynamics of the modern education ecosystem. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method covering the publication period from 2020 to 2025. The research findings indicate that teachers function as behavioral reference centers through students' natural imitation mechanisms, with concrete exemplary manifestations that include aspects of religiosity, time discipline, democratic communication, and social concern. The success of this character transformation depends heavily on the consistency of program implementation and the synergy of cooperation between schools and parents. Despite several obstacles such as a lack of creative methods and interference from the external environment, educator integrity remains proven to be a far more effective pedagogical instrument than mere theoretical verbal instruction. The main conclusion emphasizes that optimizing the role of teachers as true role models is a fundamental key in building the ethical foundation of the next generation with noble morals. Educators are not only tasked with transferring knowledge, but also building souls through the power of consistent concrete actions to create a dignified and superior quality of national civilization for the sustainable and holistic advancement of Indonesian society. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran vital guru sebagai figur teladan utama atau uswah hasanah dalam proses internalisasi nilai moral di lingkungan sekolah. Fokus utama kajian diarahkan pada pengaruh integritas personal pendidik terhadap pembentukan identitas karakter serta perkembangan psikologis siswa secara menyeluruh di tengah dinamika ekosistem pendidikan modern. Riset ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur yang mencakup periode publikasi dari tahun 2020 hingga 2025. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru berfungsi sebagai pusat referensi perilaku melalui mekanisme imitasi alami siswa, dengan manifestasi keteladanan konkret yang meliputi aspek religiusitas, kedisiplinan waktu, komunikasi demokratis, serta kepedulian sosial. Keberhasilan transformasi karakter ini sangat bergantung pada konsistensi implementasi program serta sinergi kerja sama antara pihak sekolah dengan orang tua. Meskipun terdapat beberapa hambatan seperti kurangnya kreativitas metode dan gangguan dari lingkungan eksternal, integritas pendidik tetap terbukti menjadi instrumen pedagogis yang jauh lebih efektif dibandingkan sekadar instruksi verbal teoritis. Simpulan utama menegaskan bahwa optimalisasi peran guru sebagai role model sejati merupakan kunci fundamental dalam membangun fondasi etika generasi penerus yang berakhlak mulia. Pendidik tidak hanya bertugas mentransfer ilmu pengetahuan, melainkan juga membangun jiwa melalui kekuatan tindakan nyata yang konsisten guna menciptakan kualitas peradaban bangsa yang bermartabat serta unggul bagi kemajuan masyarakat Indonesia secara berkelanjutan dan holistik.

Abstract

Background: This article investigates the role of prayer as a religious coping strategy within an increasingly complex modern world where rapid social changes, competitive work demands, economic instability, and academic pressures create emotional strain requiring effective stress management mechanisms. Understanding how spiritual practices function psychologically becomes essential as unmanaged pressures evolve into chronic stress disrupting mental health.Method: Utilizing a qualitative library research methodology, this study examines primary and secondary literature including scientific journals and books related to spiritual coping and mental health. Data collection involved searching academic databases using keywords such as prayer, religious coping, and mental health, followed by systematic content analysis involving data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing with source triangulation for validity.Results: The findings demonstrate that prayer effectively alleviates emotional pressure through multiple psychological mechanisms including focused attention shifting from stress sources to hope, physiological relaxation responses reducing anxiety, reflective processes, and strengthened patience through spiritual surrender. Prayer builds life meaning and hope by connecting individuals with transcendental power while serving as a multidimensional religious coping strategy encompassing emotional management, meaning construction, and community support. Effectiveness varies according to religiosity levels, concentration quality during prayer, social support availability, practice consistency, and integration with complementary psychological interventions.Conclusion: Prayer constitutes an essential mechanism for facing life pressures through complementary psychological and spiritual pathways. It functions as comprehensive emotional regulation that calms thoughts, enhances mental resilience, and fosters hope. Effectiveness depends upon faith depth, devotional quality, and consistent practice. These findings emphasize the importance of holistic approaches integrating psychological and spiritual dimensions for optimal mental health maintenance in modern challenging environments.
