Abstract

Purpose: The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep learning, has created new opportunities for enhancing learning in mathematics and physics education. This study aims to develop and modify a deep learning based chatbot model to improve students’ conceptual understanding of advanced mathematical concepts, including calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations, which are widely applied in physics-related learning at the undergraduate level. Method: This study employed a research and development (R&D) approach consisting of needs analysis, model design, implementation, and evaluation stages. The chatbot was developed by integrating deep learning algorithms with natural language processing (NLP) and domain-specific mathematical training datasets. The implementation involved undergraduate students at STKIP Muhammadiyah Sungai Penuh. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure conceptual understanding, student questionnaires to examine learning motivation and usability, and expert validation to assess content validity and pedagogical suitability. Quantitative data were analyzed using normalized gain scores and paired statistical testing, while qualitative feedback was examined descriptively. Findings: The results show that the modified chatbot significantly improved students’ conceptual understanding of advanced mathematical concepts compared to conventional learning approaches. Students demonstrated higher learning gains and increased motivation, particularly due to the chatbot’s ability to provide contextual feedback, step-by-step problem-solving assistance, and adaptive learning support. Expert evaluations confirmed the practicality and educational relevance of the developed chatbot. Significance: This study demonstrates that AI-powered chatbots can function as effective supplementary learning tools in higher education mathematics. By bridging advanced mathematical content with physics-related applications, the chatbot supports independent learning and contributes to the development of intelligent educational technologies for complex STEM subjects.

Abstract

Academic Culture is the habituation that can characterize an institution in college; good quality culture ensures the development of proper academic services. Technology advancement that threatens morality and academic culture must be anticipated with spiritually nuanced programs like the Subuh Mubarokahh program. As with any program, evaluation must be carried out. This research aims to evaluate behavior change and the benefits of academic culture activities. This is descriptive quantitative non-associative research, with a questionnaire as the instrument; participants included 43 lecturers and 504 students from Padang State University's Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality. According to the research results, the benefits of improving personal qualities that encourage the quality of faith and pious deeds as a Muslim are very high, and the development of a quality academic culture of kriya, ruhiyah, and badaniyah from personal lecturers and students. The program evaluation recommends that the Subuh mubarokah always be carried out by developing studies that align with the needs of lecturers and students to ensure the program's benefits in the realization of an academic culture that becomes the self-image of a quality institution.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai bidang, termasuk pendidikan. Pemanfaatan AI dalam pembelajaran memberikan peluang besar untuk menciptakan proses belajar yang lebih kreatif, adaptif, dan berpusat pada peserta didik. Kegiatan Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan tools berbasis AI dalam mendukung pembelajaran yang inovatif di lingkungan pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi tahap identifikasi kebutuhan, pelatihan penggunaan tools AI, implementasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, serta evaluasi efektivitasnya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tools AI mampu meningkatkan kreativitas peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan tugas, mempermudah pendidik dalam menyusun materi ajar yang variatif, serta memungkinkan pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif sesuai dengan kemampuan individu. Selain itu, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi belajar dan keterlibatan aktif selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan literasi digital dan akses teknologi, yang kemudian diatasi melalui pendampingan intensif dan penyediaan panduan penggunaan. Dengan demikian, optimalisasi pemanfaatan teknologi AI terbukti efektif dalam mendukung transformasi pembelajaran menuju sistem yang lebih fleksibel, personal, dan berbasis teknologi. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model implementasi pembelajaran berbasis AI yang dapat direplikasi di berbagai institusi pendidikan.

Abstract

The study was a research and development aimed at developing learning package based on scientific approach, On Material Teorema Phytagoras which was valid, practical, and effective for Junior High School’s students. The development procedure used in the study was based on Thiagarajan’s model or 4-D model consisted of four phases, namely defining, designing, developing, and dissemination. The development learning package based on scientific approach had been validated by the experts and practitioners and had been revised; thus, it obtained feasible result to be used. The results revealed that the learning package based on scientific approach was valid, practical, and effective. The learning package that were RPP, student’s book, and student’s worksheet was valid due to the extremely valid category, practical because it was in completely conducted and effective as well because it had met the criteria of effective.
