Abstract

This study aims to analyze the security strategy for the implementation of the 2024 General Election at the Medan Class I State Detention Center, as well as to identify inhibiting factors that affect the smooth running of security. The implemented security strategy includes five dimensions of strategy theory: position, perspective, planning, pattern, and tactics. The results showed that the security strategy was designed with a comprehensive approach through risk mapping, division of surveillance zones, and cross-agency cooperation such as KPU, police, and TNI. However, several inhibiting factors emerged from each dimension, including overcrowding, voter identity verification, suboptimal inter-agency coordination, limited human resources, and challenges in managing the flow of officers and logistics. This study provides recommendations for strengthening inter-agency coordination and optimizing resources to ensure the implementation of the 2024 General Election in Medan Class I Detention Centers runs safely and smoothly. Abstract

Overcapacity in prisoner in Indonesia is a potential serious problem such as prisoner resistance. This study intend to analyse the strategy of residential room placement as a means to prevent prisoner resistance in Warungkiara Class II B Correctional Facility. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method involving in-depth interviews with prison officials and prisoners to gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics that occur within the institution. The results show that Warungkiara’s Prisoner has implemented a placement strategy based on various criteria, including gender, age, criminal offence, and coaching needs. The research identifies several significant obstacles, such as high levels of overcrowding and staff shortages that impact the effectiveness of the placement strategy, creating challenges in maintaining security, order and increasing the potential for resistance among prisoners. The study concludes that the proper prisoner rooms can serve as a preventive measure in reducing the risk of prisoner resistance. Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that influence fights among inmates and the preventive measures taken by officers to prevent such incidents. The research uses a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings show that fights are often triggered by factors such as revenge, economic problems, and conflicts of interest. Additionally, the preventive measures carried out by officers include increased supervision, mediation, and rehabilitation activities aimed at creating a safe and conducive environment. This research is expected to contribute to the development of strategies for preventing fights in correctional institutions and to enhance the effectiveness of officers in maintaining security and order. Abstract

Adeeva Hotel Bengkulu City is one of the hotels in Bengkulu City that provides room rental services, such as rooms for meetings, seminars and parties. Currently, Adeeva Hotel has 4 meeting rooms, two of which are smoking rooms. Currently, there is no system in the room that can detect smoke conditions in the room.In this study using library methods, observation, interviews and laboratories, designing a system that can detect smoke levels in a room, where the sensor will read or detect smoke levels in the room, the sensor used in detecting smoke is the MQ2 sensor. While for data processing using ESP8266 with a program on the tool made using Arduino ide and for the Internet of Things (IoT) using Blynk.The system can detect smoke levels in the room, which is carried out by the MQ2 sensor, the detection results will be processed by ESP8266 where if the smoke levels in the room are large (>) from 10 PPM, ESP8266 will send a command to the relay to turn on the exhaust, so that the smoke in the room will be released out. Besides being based on exhaust sensor detection, it can be turned on and off manually via the application by entering manual mode.

Abstract

Efisiensi sistem aerasi menjadi aspek krusial dalam budidaya perikanan skala kecil, terutama untuk menjaga kadar oksigen terlarut atau Dissolved Oxygen (DO) tetap optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan performa dan efisiensi energi aerator diffuser dan pompa sirkulasi dalam meningkatkan DO pada kolam fiber 1000 L selama 24 jam, dengan kondisi DO awal rendah. Dua perlakuan (P1: aerator diffuser dan P2: pompa sirkulasi) masing-masing diulang tiga kali, serta satu kontrol tanpa perlakuan. Hasil pengukuran DO dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah dengan uji lanjut BNT. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p < 0,05) antar perlakuan. Aerator diffuser (ΔDO = 3,50 mg/L) memberikan peningkatan DO tertinggi dan efisiensi energi 4,17 mg/L per kWh, lebih baik dibanding pompa sirkulasi (ΔDO = 2,70 mg/L; 3,21 mg/L per kWh). Kontrol menunjukkan penurunan DO alami sebesar 0,72 mg/L. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa aerator diffuser lebih efektif dan efisien secara energi dalam meningkatkan DO, serta lebih cocok diterapkan pada unit budidaya skala kecil

Abstract

Cantang grouper fish (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus-lanceolatus) is a result of hybridized fish between a female of tiger grouper fish (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) and male of kertang grouper (Ephinephelus lanceolatus). In the development of cultivation, there are many problems, one of them infected with the class of virus Nodaviridae, namely Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN). Fish had a defense against cellular immunity against the VNN virus by β-actin. The aims of this research to explore the crude extract of Spirulina sp as a β-actin inducer for the anti-inflammatory immune system in grouper fish against VNN attack. The method used in this research is experiment methods.  Crude extracts of Spirulina sp (33 μg/ml) were conducted by feeding orally to groupers, and VNN infections were conducted by feeding the already positive VNN meat. Detection of VNN using RT-PCR, however β-actin detection using PCR, and IHC in the organ of Cantang grouper fish. The results showed that the percentage of DAB value of control fish (14.0%), fish treated with Spirulina sp (25.7%), fish treated with VNN (31.9%), and fish treated with Spirulina sp extract and VNN infection (32.4%). The percentage of DAB values were indicated by the detection of the target gene β-actin. Immunity in fish increases with the addition of Spirulina sp. The increased β-actin expression may also be used as an indicator of a grouper's body defense against VNN infection.

Abstract

Garam merupakan komoditas penting yang banyak digunakan secara luas dari kepentingan konsumsi sampai dengan industri. Salah satu faktor utama yang menentukan keberhasilan produksi garam ini adalah kesesuaian lokasi produksi garam. Hanya saja, belum ada metode yang dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam penentuan tingkat kesesuaian lokasi produksi garam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun Indeks Kesesuaian Garam (IKG) untuk menganalsis kesesuaian lokasi produksi garam. Dalam penelitian ini, IKG digunakan untuk menganalisis lokasi produksi garam di Kabupaten Tuban dan Kabupaten Probolinggo, Jawa Timur. IKG disusun berdasarkan sembilan parameter kesesuaian yang terdiri dari curah hujan, permeabilitas tanah, jenis tanah, lama penyinaran, kelembapan udara, kecepatan angin, suhu udara, tingkat penguapan dan tingkat kejenuhan air bahan baku. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai IKG lokasi produksi garam di Kabupaten Tuban (Desa Leranwetan) adalah sebesar 86,84 % yang mengindikasikan kalau lokasi ini sudah sangat sesuai untuk produksi garam. Nilai IKG lokasi produksi garam di Kabupaten Probolinggo (Desa Kalibuntu) adalah sebesar 81,57% yang mengindikasikan lokasi ini cukup sesuai sebagai lokasi produksi garam. Studi ini melaporkan untuk pertama kali metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian lokasi untuk produksi garam.

Abstract

The tofu industry in Bancar village, Bungkal district, Ponorogo regency, East Java province is still at micro enterprise (MSME) level and is operated with simple technology, so the level of water and raw efficiency is high. Material consumption is still low and waste generation is relatively high. This study aims to analyze the solid and liquid waste characteristics of the tofu industry in Bancar Village, Bungkal District, Ponorogo Regency. To study this case, a sampling technique of solid and liquid waste was carried out and further testing was carried out in the laboratory. Based on the results of the research, the solid waste characteristics of the tofu industry contain moisture content of 93.18%; ash content of 0.21%; crude protein content of 2.77%; crude fiber content of 1.65%; carbohydrate content of 1.88%; calorie content of 21.48 Cal/100 gr. As for liquid waste, it characteristics has 5 parameters to be tested, namely Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5) has a level of 869.7 mg/L, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) has a level of 4480 mg/L, Total Suspended Solid (TSS) has a level of 110 mg/L, and pH has a value of 3.95. Abstract

ABSTRACTYemen is a country with a weak health care system, very vulnerable to exposure to the COVID-19 pandemic. Realizing this, assistance from other parties is needed to overcome these problems. The ICRC as an international non-governmental organization (INGO) has an interest in helping deal with the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Yemen. By using the concepts of human security and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as role theory, this study attempts to analyze the ICRC’s role in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Yemen. Qualitative-descriptive approach is the method used by the author in this study. Based on the research that has been done, several roles were found by the International Committee of the Red Cross during the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Yemen. Firstly, as implementer, the ICRC plays a role in mobilizing resources by providing the goods and services needed during the COVID-19 pandemic in Yemen. Second, as a catalyst, the ICRC plays a role in advocating for the wider community through campaign activities and dissemination of information on the prevention of COVID-19. As a partner, the ICRC is working closely with the Authorities in Yemen, as well as the Yemen Red Crescent and other organizations in dealing with the pandemic. The result of this study indicate that in carrying out its role as an international non-governmental organization, the ICRC has not been able to play its fullest role due to obstacles and challenges in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Yemen. Keywords: ICRC, COVID-19, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Human Security, Yemen

Abstract

Pembinaan narapidana melalui pelatihan keterampilan kerja merupakan bagian integral dari sistem pemasyarakatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis efektivitas program tersebut berdasarkan teori efektivitas Sutrisno dan teori life skill WHO. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang dilaksanakan langsung di lingkungan kerja pembinaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini mampu meningkatkan keterampilan kognitif, sosial, dan praktis narapidana yang mengikuti pembinaan. Narapidana menjadi lebih disiplin, bertanggung jawab, serta memiliki keterampilan teknis seperti memproduksi roti, mengatur proses pengemasan, dan mengelola bahan baku secara efisien. Dari lima indikator teori efektivitas, empat indikator telah berjalan baik yaitu ketepatan waktu, perubahan nyata, pencapaian tujuan, dan ketepatan sasaran. Namun, indikator pemahaman program belum berjalan maksimal karena masih ada narapidana yang belum memahami arah jangka panjang program secara utuh. Faktor pendukung meliputi kerja sama dengan mitra kerja, sistem kerja yang tertata, peran petugas pembinaan, serta motivasi internal narapidana. Sedangkan faktor penghambat mencakup keterbatasan pelatih profesional, sarana produksi, belum adanya pelatihan lanjutan, dan tidak adanya seleksi berbasis minat dan bakat secara objektif
